  • If you got a .25 cents for every item some one picked up after you reviewed you would be set! Thank You for your review! I told Hobby king you sent me.

  • I would buy a used set! I'm a disabled VET on a low fix income so if you can help I would appreciate it!? thank you for your time.

  • I do not want to take up much of your time but can you tell me the best place to buy a set of fatshark goggles with out breaking the bank? thank you for your time!

  • some one is a bit happy :)

  • my fatsharks that came through have dirt behind the right lens.

i can see it clearly it looks like a thumb print lol

im 1st gunna test them but i will need to know how to clean them too.

  • you annoy me.....

  • Your opinion of the image quality might be handy.

These are getting cheaper every day, generation 2 are now only $120 (these are gen.1)

Guy below - if you're long sighted and cannot read without specs - yeah they work, but try to get small glasses or even better - contacts.

    ciao

  • @ll1lI Where can they be purchased for $120?

  • @jimzeagle mytinyurl(dot)net/38d7e8

Chuck that in a browser. The cheap ones are about 100, the newer and better ones about 200.

I buy in quantity, but they will usually sell one piece to curious customers.

You need to register to do busines with these people, but the savings are amazing.

  • Thanks!

  • Don't put them in the sun them

  • Ur humor made me search for another vid

  • How much are they?

  • "FET shak" lol.

  • Black is obvious gonna heat up faster than any other color that does not mean their not good or thats a down side... I'm black and I'm glad i think its a wonderful color.

  • Thanks for the preview, I like to ask a question that perhaps some of viewers having in mind as well:

say, I'm wearing prescription glasses. How well does this fit as a fitover goggle?

Thanks again, keep up the good work

  • Do you have to purchase the earphones separately I didn't see them with your goggles...

  • We sell kinds of video glasses

Pls check newspace company on Google

  • @steve86003 Yeah, I see you spamming all over YouTube. Wouldn't buy from a spammer.

  • I'm writing an "intro to FPV" article right now which will list all the stuff you need and places from where it can be bought.

    Did I miss it?

  • It doesn't come with a camera?

  • Great info, especially about seeing the noise instead of a blue screen when the signal isn't perfect. Thanks for the review!

  • can you shut one off so you have one eye fresh if you have to remove them in a hurry?

  • LOL 4:22 "remember i boouth these from hobbyking and they weren't gonna be any help for me" P.S. your welcome, for the donation....

  • What's the FOV? What video formats does it support? Does it support stereoscopy?

  • youtube.com/watch?v=YiqRbm4hH_A

This is complete TELEPORTER kit, with headtracking, that has many more features, than just goggles.

    Tom

  • @SuperPianowizard I'm writing an "intro to FPV" article right now which will list all the stuff you need and places from where it can be bought. Hope to get it up on the website in the next week or so.

  • @RCModelReviews kwl stuff, ill look out for it! thanx

  • Hi. I have a pair of these and they work well. However, recently the cable developed an intermittent fault in the 12V supply leads that connect the battery and receiver. After quite a bit of probing, the problem was narrowed down to the fairly lightweight leads. In the end, I had to cut them off and re-make the whole DC supply and AV interconnect end of the lead. Cutting the molded joiner apart showed some potentially flimsy assembly there. My advice: treat the lead with care to avoid breaks.

  • how much are these?

  • The hell is wrong with your arm?

  • G'day, how is the clarity of each screen, I am curious, I have monocular vision and so I was wondering would it be worth my while cheers.

  • Hi Bruce, thanks a lot for doing those reviews :)

I just have one question, are these last batch of FatSharks from hobby King the V2? I read the FS base station V2 googles have some improvements like new optics, lighter and etc? can you confirm that? thanks. Best Wishes

  • I forgot to ask, how well does the foam work for keeping out ambient light? I had to modify my goggles (not FS) so that I could see the screen without glare

  • @RCcunuk The foam is very effective at blocking external light. However, as I mentioned in the web-page review (on the RCModelReviews website), I get the impression that the foam may be quite fragile -- although they do provide a set of replacement foam with the glasses.

  • Bruce I think you should invest in a hatcam, get both hands available and make your posts look a lot more professional.

  • @MSargeNZ There's lots of things I *should* invest in -- but to invest, one must first have money :-) Remember, as a loss-making venture RCModelReviews has been stunningly successful - at making a loss.

One day soon I'm going to have to bite the bullet and invest a lot more in the camera gear and stuff I use -- maybe even hire a cameraman so I can compete with Josh and Josh. In the meantime, I'll just stick to making the reviews *factual* and honest. Anyone have a spare hatcam?

  • @RCModelReviews Josh and Josh haven't half of the knowledge you do Bruce. Slick production is no replacement for good info. Keep up the great vids.

  • @RCModelReviews Put a donation buton on the site ;)

  • @Booonzie There is one on the RCModelReviews website -- top left corner :-)

  • @RCModelReviews oh... *facepalm*

  • @RCModelReviews For a hatcam, use the #11 808 camera you reviewed.

  • @RCModelReviews Don't worry, "Josh and Josh" might also be doing reviews, but their style is quite different than yours, and quite many times, they become just annoying, repeating the other's phrases or just saying nonsense info.

There was this interesting review about differential when they said "the aileron goes down, and pushes the wing up", whereas I bet you would have said "the aileron moves down, increasing chamber, thus lift, moving the wing upwards". just for that bit, I choose you. ^_^

  • Can these video goggles be worn over prescription glasses ?

  • This is starting to be my go to thread for RC information. Great job!

  • Great job Bruce just what we all wanted ;-) thumbs up.

  • Ya know, I've been looking into FPV for a while, what do you think would be a good bare bones basis for an FPV setup.

  • very good Bruce im thinking of having ago.could you do a review on full set up from the plane to the goggles.

  • Excellent review as always Bruce! Thanks! Was curious about these.

  • Excellent review! Thank you and please keep them comming!!!!

  • Be careful Bruce, even bright fluoros can damage them.

  • Bruce thanks again for the review of the goggles ! I work in TV here in the UK and i must say your a natural presenter !

What a excellent channel will you being doing more videos on the Fat Sharks ?

    Thanks.

  • @fisherboom I've done a little TV work in the past in the UK and NZ (you may have seen me on Scrapheap Challenge building pulsejet engines). There will be more videos coming up real soon showing how the FatSharks work as part of a total FPV setup. I also want to review the much cheaper HobbyKing goggles but the review budget is at an all-time low right now so that may have to wait a little.

  • yes , i wondered about that (your glasses). good info! i havent gone to the fat shark site yet, but did you see any info on eye glasses there?

also, what do you think about making a short list of make/model name, of the stuff you review? sometime you review "systems" with many different products and it's sometimes a bit difficult to get all the details on components! (just a thought)

best to you and enjoy your "summer" in the southern hem.! ;-)

  • bruce , if you do more review on the fat shark goggles, would you include how they work for people that use prescription eyeglasses? is there a focus adjustment etc???

    great info! keep it coming!!

  • @bradp455 As you will have noticed, I wear prescription glasses but fortunately, my near-sight vision is good so the FatSharks work fine for me "as is". You can purchase additional lenses with different focal-lengths to accommodate near or far-sightedness -- so that's good news. These however, won't deal with acute astigmatism or other eye disorders where your focus is uneven.

  • works great

  • OK Bruce, I get it, FPV goggles are cool. BUT..... In my experience they cause more crashes than it's worth! LOL

  • plastic look cheap,

  • @wallaguest1 Yes, it does look cheap but so far it's held up well and seems "up to the task". Just the wrong color (IMHO).

  • Thanks for another EXCELLENT review Bruce!

  • yeah black is bad. Foxtech FPV makes decent goggles too and they're greyish/white. Smart.

  • @kangsterizer Another thing is some people see properly right away through goggles, some others see too images and might need hours before they get the trick to see only one image. it's not a product defect, it's just the way humans are a bit different. Personally I'm the kind who needed a while until I could see right. Most people just see things fine right away. I think it's important to point out, i know people who get disappointed when they see 2 pictures separated.

  • @kangsterizer I notice some of the cheaper goggles don't have an adjustment for IPD (inter-pupillary distance -- or the distance between your eyes) like the FatSharks. By adjusting the IPD I was able to immediately get the two images to overlap perfectly, making it very comfortable to view. It's little "features" like this that make the FS units worth the money I think.

  • @xjet my goggles have the adjustements (Headplays) but that didnt help me for the double vision. Maybe the adjustment needs to be larger for some people. That said after several hours it naturally became one image. Now on any goggles i get them to look normal after a minute or two, a bit like the cross eyed trick to see stereograms, except its not really cross eyeing for goggles

I think the FS are among the best goggles for FPV however (headplays have other issues)

  • @kangsterizer Yes, when the review-budget allows, I'll buy a pair and compare them to the FatSharks.

  • Goggles only?

  • i wear a sombrero when flying ... works well in the Brisbane sun :)

  • Very cool, thanks :-)
