@RaptureandZune I see what you're saying but every band in existence either coincidentally uses a riff sounding similar to another or takes influence/takes their own on someone else's riff. The Only Ones were uncomparable even if their greatest hit sounded a little similar to "Whips and Furs".

Plus the drummer's my relative so I would say they're amazing anyway :)

@Jowceph The problem is that the late 70s English punk was a tightly bonded scene. The members from The Only Ones could had attended dozens of Vibrators' shows before writing this. Otherwise I agree with you - I just hate people saying "this is the original, all covers suck!!" when they do not understand how close 3-chords song sound alike. I have to pay more attention to the drums - my favorite drummer of this type of music is Clem Burke of Blondie.

Such a great song. The Peel Session version of this is great too, and is worth tracking down; it's a little rougher, but the guitars have more of a snarl IIRC.

Also, search for "Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain Another Girl" and check that out. Really amazing cover on the ukulele (or like seven ukuleles at once, really.) It's one of those things that you think is gonna be a goofy joke, but then you listen, and it's like, "Wow..." They do a nice cover of "Teenage Kicks," too.
