Love how you can program the V1 to shut off the X band alert, and put it in Logic to almost cut all false alarms. Those arrows are awesome also, I do not think I will get anything else.
@vansglyde21 You can check their site for full info, but its basically an online database/social network built by the users. You get the smartcord, which replaces the standard power cord that goes into the cigarette lighter, and connect it via bluetooth to your iphone or android, on which you can see a map and locations where other users may have spotted police, or have marked speed traps etc. Its neat, but there are not yet enough users as it is a new feature.
i HAVE A 9500 ix and it doesnt matter where the signal is coming from SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! at least the 9500 ix tells you the direction of red light andd speed cameras. lol oh and by the way did i mention 9500 ix shows your speed? who wants some big bulky sqaure radar.
Great test! Sick distance on both units! I have (and love) my V1. The faster alert by the V1 may have seemed short, but on the road, every second can count.
V1 is still the best. I have had it for about ten years, I drive interestate 5 between Sacramento and LA about 1000 miles round trip three to four times a year and it proves to be the best. It tells me how many radar guns are pointed at me and direction there are coming from, I have experienced speed traps by the CHP where they show a decoy patrol with a radar gun and a couple of miles later two more patrols pulling people over that sped up again. No gimmicks, just effective.
If you are implying this is 'quick trigger' radar, it is not. It is constant on radar. The 9500ix does not detect quick trigger where as the latest V1 does.
Love my 9500ix but wish it had arrows like V1. Not critical but sometimes would be nice to know direction of source. I can't stand false alerts so that us why I got the 9500ix over the V1. GPS cuts out 95% of the annoying false alerts. Both are great but V1 is too noisy for my taste.
What I want to see is a real world video where you can clearly see the indicators and screens. The kinda test where you have decoy cops and multiple stage speed traps where all these other detectors would be put to shame by the V1. The kind where you come up on a curvy road and your detector goes off and you see a cop parked, get a ways past him then speed up, but where its actually the cop a half mile down the road. Without the arrows, you just got a ticket, certain it was the other guy.
Look at 2:38 and beyond. Notice how the V1 continues to detect the radar from behind at a far more longer distance. Thats because the V1 has a sensor in front and its OWN dedicated laser/radar sensor facing the rear. No other radar has this feature. On top of this V1 tells you where the signal is coming from, unlike other radars, where its a guessing game.
HEY HEY HEY HEY THERE MIGHT BE A COP HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HE IS THAT WAY HEY HEY HEY HEY LOOK OUT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HEY HEY THERE WAS LIKE THIS GUY BEHIND YOU HEY HEY.
If anyone can show me a test that was done by a company that doesn't sell competing detectors that has the Valentine 1 peforming worse than any detector I would LOVE to see it...
@MrBadfish2 V1 is a great radar detector! But i own a escort redline now and it does better than the V1 when going over hills and around corners. The Ka sensitivity is better too. The V1 does have better rear detection but I live in BC so there is very windy roads so I would take the redline anyday over the V1
That's pretty hard to truly gauge isn't it? It's not like you're out there measuring distances. I highly highly doubt any radar detector is out peforming the V1 in any way. The people that say otherwise are those that sell other detectors, or own something else and they need to justify what they bought. The V1 has been proven to be the world's best radar detector over and over and over for a reason.
@MrBadfish2 It has been proven by many people that the redline does better on corners and hills. And yes my buddy has a V1 and have tested my redline against it and it does do better the the V1 on corners and especially against 35.5 Ka.
It hasn't been proven the redline does anything better than the V1... THAT'S THE POINT. People just do their own BS biased test and consider it to be fact. There has only been 2 unibiased scientific test done on which is best and the V1 came out on top both times. All the other test done were done by people that sell the Redline or other competing products to the Valentine 1. Buy what you want bro.. nobody is telling you not to. But there's no better Radar Dectector on the marke
@MrBadfish2 I can see im dealing with another V1 zombie and what the the hell are you talking about it hasn't been proven to beat the V1 in any case? Tons of professional experts have proven it does. When it comes to long range the redline does do better on Ka and 2nd of all they are dead even on K band, but when it comes to corners using Ka band the redline will have an edge on it every time! Trust me I have done the testing I would know. Go to the radartest site and you will find out yourself
"go to radartest site" ... LOL.. you didn't read a fucking thing I wrote did you? Radar test.com SELLS THE DETECTORS THEY SAY "OUTPERFORMED THE V1"
You're the one that buys into "testing" done by people that sell the product they found to be the best....How stupid is that?
Not ONE....I repeat.. Not ONE test has been done by any qualified person has given any detector higher marks than the Valentine one THAT DOESN'T SELL COMPETING DETECTORS.
@MrBadfish2 LOL no offense or anything but have you ever owned a redline? And I said I have tested the V1 with my redline and it does do better on corners. When guysoflidar does there testing i bet the redline come out on top.
In all "guysoflidar" test the Valentine 1 trounces everything in KA test ... K band radar is all but phased out..it's useless, and yet still the V1 is top rated there too. The problem is you buy into advertising done by Faux comparisons put on by people that sell the radar detectors that "won." Even your own video the Valentine 1 beat your redline..and you still think the redline is better? You're living in a fantasy world broseph. Valentine 1 is #1 for over 10 years
@MrBadfish2 WOW man you haven't listened to fucking thing i have said have you? And what video are you talking about? I don't even have a video on here? LMAO and yes guysoflidar are the only tests I can agree with cause they don't sell radar detectors they just test them so they could care less what people buy. Yes the V1 has beat everyother detector in there tests but they havent tested it against the V1 and every V1 user knows how it lack 35.5 Ka detection.
I have picked up KA radar with my Valentine 1 over 9 miles away from it's source. Not only that, but during that detection I picked a second source of KA radar coming up from behind me with the Arrows and counter. There's a reason Valentine 1 is #1 in the world for radar detection. End of story
@MrBadfish2 LOL dude i have picked up 35.5 Ka 12 miles away with the redline. And whats the big deal with the arrows a good radar detector user would know where the source is coming from. Also the redline tells you the exact frequency there are using so you know if there is more than one source and on expert mode it can also tells you if there is one more source. The V1 isn't even immune to radar detectors detectors and the V1 "was the best radar detector".
The 9500ix is where it's at these days, the Valentine is good, but it's old technology now. What I want most of all is for the unit to filter out false positives, and there is no better unit than a 9500ix for that - who wants to be jumping on the brakes every 60 seconds when you drive past a supermarket door.
You have no cluc ... The Valentine One is still the authority on Radar Detector Technology.... Have you every owned a V1? If you did, you'd know the V1 has all the "false signal" supression technology... in fact, you can adjust it 3 different times for your liking of sensitivity.. .it will always give KA signals and LIDAR signals so you never have to worry... instead of posting up nonsense, do your homework
With 9500ix I can filter out false alarms , so a stupid speed camera like this will never bother me again. 9500ix may have slower response, because it's sensitivity is controlled by the car speed (Data comes from built-in GPS unit).
9500ix is highly recommended by a pizza driver, after 1,5 years of testing.
@ileznik LOL i deliver pizza too cuz i need one bad since one of my friends that delivers has a radar dont know which one and he hits 80 and never gets caught that why when we get lik 7 deliverys he get 18 LOl
What happens when another (real) radar unit parks where the "false" alarm was blocked out by your GPS? That's right, you're going to get pulled over.. That GPS crap is useless...
Valentine One tells you how many lasers are near. I don't think the other ones tell you. Also the Valentine One can tell you if there are lasers at the rear and at the side. I don't think other radar detectors do those.
@jak4881 The alert tone frequence is the same for all the bands but it lights and blinks when your targetted by one of r the 4 bands on the Valentine One. It also tells you how many. You may not know how many of each but it's a sign there's something coming up. Therefore speeding should be ok and not getting caught when you get no alert.
it doesn't really matter where they are coming from, you would slow down if you were smart and the escort can show up to 8 signals at one time under exp display setting
back in the 90s V1 outperformed everything, now bel, and escort equaled or surpassed the V1 in testing. i like the V 1, just did some research on them all.
Notice the v1 here is set on it's least filtered mode.."a" No v1 user uses this mode because the v1 acts like chicken little on it. The v1 users now have gone to the "quick trigger argument" that most cops will quickly trigger their radar off and on. Rarely if ever happens people. Cops don't need to do this whatsoever to catch plenty of speeders. it's a moot argument but one that the v1 users huddle around for warmth now.
Mike Valentine has been kicking escort and Beltronics ass for 25 years. Since V1's introduction in 1993, the V1 has out performed every radar detector on the market for front and rear protection. People even think the new redline by escort is better than the V1. The truth is, its the same performance as the 9500i and 9500ix. The V1 has outperformed both of those radar detectors every time. V1 is still KING!!!
Oh please!! The new Red line on the most pertinent band now..KA is eating that old dinosaur detector's lunch now before it even sees it. LMAO! Fact is v1 users just don't want to admit it now. Get over it already.
They are both brilliant devices, but as has been stated, the V1 will drive you nuts around town with it's constant false alerts. At least the 9500 has GPS and allows you to mark a false alert so that if it detects the same exact frequency in the same location, it won't give an audible alert. THAT is worth gold to me. They were as smart to patent that as Valentine were to patent the arrows.
love my v1 and my 9500i (not ix) have ix ordered. v1 is king on interstate. intown v1 way too many false almost just ignore it. However the ix has speed camera and gps which i prefer over v1. they alert almost at same time but like in vid v1 alerts first and alerts longer and has the arrows. Final determination.....v1 rules on radar/laser but does not have features of ix. With that said Ill still rely on my old friend v1.
Next time try to install one detector over the other instead of side to side, since the radio wave is obstructed by the palm tree and as you progress into the turnning road one detector sees the wave before the other, this is not a good test.
@lentz29 Yeah and if it were a false signal the V1 would never shut up but you could block it out for next time with the escort. 9500i for me and I have both. The V1 is almost TO sensitive.every freaking toaster sets it off. and i have eyes, I dont need it to tell me where the radar is, hint: look for a police car.
The V1 gave the warning earlier and later in both directions, has easy to see directional arrows, looks cooler, and best of all costs $50 less. Pwned!
Good test even though you shouldn't run 2 at the same time. But it still depicts the 2 and the sensitivity. It's clear the V1 has much better X/K pickup than the 9500i(X) but not significantly. The 9500iX comes to pretty much a tie with the V1 in all Ka frequencies. GOL testing shows it. If you do mostly highway driving, V1 is the clear choice. If you do mostly city driving, 9500i(X) is the choice and will still do an outstanding job on the highway, though will not match the V1 in X and K.
Gol testing..LOL Ya, with truncated test sites, old ebay radar units and a lot of foam to absorb their old radar gun signals. I will stick to sites like speed zones thank you. Funny how the v1 always comes out on top in all their "tests' while other professional tester sites say this just isn't so.
Nice video but the commenter should know that this test isn't really valid since you can't run two powerful detectors next to each other. They cause interference.
It's fun to see the Valentine One detect radar first and from the rear for a longer time against an inferior Escort 9500i with no rear antenna that is $50-$100 more than the V1.
I have no preference as I own both detectors, but as you can see on the 9500i it is K band radar being detected. The 9500i is also not in Auto mode, which is speed based, it is in Highway mode.
Love how you can program the V1 to shut off the X band alert, and put it in Logic to almost cut all false alarms. Those arrows are awesome also, I do not think I will get anything else.

Pwned!

Pwned?? does V1 have GPS? does V1 had Freq Diplay? does V1 have Voice Alert?..........

Valentine 1 is the greatest Radar Detector in the world.. period.

I'm trying to invent a radar that detects p*ssy! =) That sh*t would be phat! I'll make millions!

if you have eyes you can detect pussy, cause girls have pussys
no need for radars

good luck with that

Great video.

Nice video but the commenter should know that this test isn't really valid since you can't run two powerful detectors next to each other. They cause interference.
Jchen1986 3 years ago 4
If you read my Test #1 you'd know that was ALREADY stated.
Ultron912 3 years ago
@Jchen1986
im runnig 2 radar detecors too and they dont interfere with each ohter
i run the V1 high on the windshield and the Beltronics STI on the dash board
and they work well together
Marianmichael 1 year ago
@Jchen1986 they receive NO TRANSMIT! SO IT OK!
SanAntonio78210 5 months ago
@Jchen1986 not true. interference is negligible. Detectors are just radio receivers, nothing else.

The ramp up on the 9500i sucks. The V1 also held its alert from the rear for alot longer.
FlyinZX10R 3 years ago 4
truth
rapazn 3 years ago 4
That has to do with V1's rear antennae
Jchen1986 3 years ago 3
Still just as confused on which one to purchase...I didn't notice any if much difference.

Go to guysoflidardotcom and check out the latest test and then go buy a Valentine One.
smadamaf 3 years ago 4
It's fun to see the Valentine One detect radar first and from the rear for a longer time against an inferior Escort 9500i with no rear antenna that is $50-$100 more than the V1.
smadamaf 3 years ago
I have no preference as I own both detectors, but as you can see on the 9500i it is K band radar being detected. The 9500i is also not in Auto mode, which is speed based, it is in Highway mode.
Ultron912 3 years ago
Very very good point, don't be a fool...
GUITARATORY 2 years ago
most of these traffic system use x band which is detectable for miles, also the 9500i lowers its detection when you go under or near the speed limit
