i think that the right is starting to see that the legalization of pot is exactly what they stand for: choice. up til now, the right has thought of smoking pot as a moral problem as oppose to a public health issue and i think that slowly but surely, the republicans are starting to change. (i'm a republican and i very much support this)
That's so great to hear, because it's the sort of thing I've been angry about for years. Conservatism is supposed to be about smaller government, so criminalizing a relatively harmless (and according to some preliminary studies, possibly beneficial) plant seems totally hypocritical. Though I'm a liberal, I'm glad to hear your view and I pray your party starts to agree with you.
it's nice to talk to someone with different political beliefs as you that's not being a total asshole. although i'm conservative, i do believe in one liberal princible besides the legalization of pot: i'm pro abortion. do you believe in any conservative philosophies?
It's a welcome change, being nice to people of opposing views. Sorry, but I can't really say I'm conservative at all, at least on the big issues. I'm a pretty staunch liberal - pro gay marriage, pro choice (I don't believe many people are pro *abortion*), pro (some) taxes. I guess you could say I'm traditionally conservative when it comes to things like censorship, in that I think it should be done mostly by parents, not the gov't. But it seems today's conservatism doesn't agree with me on that.
How did this not pass in Nevada? It's America's morally ambiguous analogy!

So Nevada will actually be able to legalize it? Or would that just be for medical use?
