best end of the world movie for me, strange to call it all but that's what it is...the only one to get close to the sense of doom is Signs, and ALMOST The Day After Tomorrow. I LOVE The Birds for that
Did you ever read the script for the planned ending? If you haven't, I wouldn't recommend it. I preferred not knowing if they got out or not, reading it ruined the ending for me.
when i was a kid i thought the birds were attacking because of the two birds in the cage they didn't like to see two of their own in a confined space HA!
I like most of Hitchcock's films, this movie is horrible in my opinion. I thought the story made no sense at all, the acting was very stiff and the effects you claim to be very interesting to look at were in my opinion absolutely horrible.
@elchafa That's cool. Not every movie is for everyone. I just think it's nice to see something different in a world where modern action films are dominated by CGI, which is boring in my opinion.
Hi. I love your reviews. I've got the Alfred Hithcock DVD boxset, but I've only watched The Birds, Psycho and a couple of days ago I watched Rear Window and loved it. May I ask some questions; Why do you give these films 9/10 and not 10/10 (aka what's missing in your opinion) and am I missing out by not watching the other films? If so, could you recommend the best films up there with the three mentioned? Thank you for your time :)
@Gaznugget Well I've raised my ratings of Psycho, Rear Window and Vertigo to 10/10. I'm really indecisive with ratings so lots of films I love to death I still give 8s and 9s. As for other good Hitchcock movies, while I haven't seen all his films, I recommend Vertigo, North by Northwest, Dial M For Murder and Rope. All of them are beyond fantastic.
I'd also give Psycho and Rear Window 10/10 but I haven't yet seen Vertigo but if you give it 10/10 it must be up there with the others. I'll watch it tonight. My Dad recommended North by Northwest so I'll look at that too. I heard one called Carrie that featured the lead woman from The Birds, but I'm not sure if it will be as good as those you mentioned. Anyway, again thanks for your time :)
5:01 reminds me of the scene in the second Harry Potter when all the letter came down from the chipniee. lol XD

Great review. But I still prefer Vertigo over this. Either way it is still one of his most suspenseful movies.
