As Krishna Das has said himself, the mantras and prayers are the medicine and the musical arrangement is the sweet syrup. The prayers and mantras are ancient almost timeless. Krisna has just changed musical arrangements and I think he has a divine gift. If it was not for him, I probably would not be listening to these prayers and would not have learned about ancient traditions. His music appeals to Westerners but promotes respect for the traditions of the East.

With all due respect I would like to know what Hindus are doing for their Dharma , chanting and meditating is all right but protecting our Vedic Dharma is important too.

From extreme negligence towards hindus to the literal choking up of Sri GangaJi and from falsely alleging charges against Hindu Saints to misuse of temple donations our Dharma is suffering blow after blow by the so called 'secular' politicians who are not so ' secular' when it comes to people of other religions .

But I sense some kind of guilt consciousness and fear in grizzy898's comments. Are you afraid God Almighty will be so Holy and Righteous he may not tolerate sins perpetrated by USA and it's much of godless society? If you think KD's music will change God's plan, please go ahead and rewrite "St. John's Revelations", "Daniel's Prophecies" and Jesus's personal answers in the Holy Bible.

@grizzy898 Sir I know its a bit late to reply but I would like to inform you that these words and music are not a creation of Krishna Das ji , please dont disrespect the ancient Vedic tradition like this.Whatever Sri Krishna Dasji has recorded so far are chants which Hindus have been chanting for centuries . Sri Das's contribution is his elegant voice and musical arrangement of these ancient chants and stutis , but the words and musical composition are not his.
