  • really nice man!

  • Hi I wish you success

  • Oh I hate snobbery over guitar brands. I have a Levinson Blade RH4 Classic (expensive boutique brand) and I have a cheapo $100 Strat copy that I have put some better pups in....I get as much enjoyment (maybe more) out of the cheapy rather than the expensive guitar! The mind is a strange place

  • @BluePin75 totally get that i was in the guitar shop tried three real fender telecasters then tried the squire version of the tele it felt better, i thought it sounded better and it was generally more fun to play and £400 cheaper

  • nice...love it when somebody shows just how good a budget guitar can sound.... i have wasted hundreds over the years chasing the dream of a quality guitar....

but i have settled on a budget tele of my own.... made by vintage.... not everyone's fave but it really suits me.....

  • @pmay222 Well said. I have a Squier Strat Standard (the chrome one) and I loved it more than my friend's more expensive ltd f50. the squier strat which i own is one guitar i would not let go.......

  • Nice playing bro.

  • 'Lame' my foot, this is actually really impressive, and I'm diggin that tone!

  • you call this lame?

    dude you are amazing!!

  • Extraordinary combination of taste and shred. Love it.

  • 0:31 sounds like the show Becker! LOL!

  • great tone and musical ideas!

  • Comment removed

  • i like it

  • the neck pickup has a pink floyd tone to it.

  • thats sounds amazing for a squier

  • Joe Satriani much? lol

  • bro its not shredding so your right lame shredding...HOWEVER beautiful guitar playing keep it up man

  • woah that fucking guitar sucks.

  • Why is it that you can take any video of someone playing guitar, put "shredding" or "shred" in the title and its like an instant 100,000+ views?

    BTW sweet playing :)

  • i miss my old tele :(

  • buddy holly is come back!

  • this is some entry level bull sheeT ! !takjin bout shredding, more like sucking ! !

  • 1:50 Shred again? Were you some sort of guitar god in your salad days?

  • this kind of hybrid amp response ok with pedals?¡???

  • Why do you say lame? I think you shred very well.

  • Lame? haha not even man. \m/

  • That Das Fuzz sounds brilliant

  • Wouldn't call this shredding by any stretch, but still a good demo of the Squier's capabilities.

  • cool demo shredder. wasn't sure how versatile the guitar was, but i'm sold

  • Hello, i'm new into this great world of blues, and i was wondering if there's a specific pattern or scale which you used to perform the licks on the following

    0:08 - 0:14

    is really inspiring

  • @xXNitramGtaXx or just the Dorian scale?

  • true guitar wankage , just like me , thanks , great guitaring

  • just goes to show that one doesn't need to spend thousands on gear to get a good sound.

  • Wow, Poindexter can play!

  • im impressed theres no noise with the squier my mexi tele is pretty noisey

  • @topperspoppers my squier tele is pretty noisy too when not touching any metal part of the guitar - if you take your hands off and hear that buzz, it is most likely a "grounding" problem" and a wire needs re soldering. Guitar center does this for like 5 dollars these days, hope this helps.

Nice playing to the vid poster.

  • jees man play atune

  • Stop talking about the Squier, and give that VOX some appreciation! The Vox VT's are for the money the best amps you can get at the moment!

  • @hermanshermits124124 and squire aren't good value money?

  • @rgjmce666 Some are, some of them are real crap though. But the same can be said of every brand.

  • @hermanshermits124124 I bought a 01' squire tele today and it's awesome but it does need a bit work

  • @rgjmce666 Awesome, congrats! My first guitar was a squier stratocaster, and I still have it today (totally reworked though, new pickguard, golden lace sensors, and ofcourse a great setup). I will never part with it, not just because its my first guitar, but because it is a really good one. I have played many fenders that can't keep up with it (but I also have now great Fenders, I love the plus series of the 80/90's). Enjoy your guitar!! Best instrument ever.

  • @hermanshermits124124 yeah i bought it specifically to do it up but the more i play it, the less stuff i wanna change on it lol

  • The first lick you played sounded nice on that guitar even though it's a squier!

  • Great tone - and great playing !

How many years have you been playing the guitar?

Does it take like 10 years of practice ?

I'd sure like to be able to play like that !

  • maybe two years starting from an electric guitar, and having classes with a specialized teacher.

  • you got tabs for what you ar playing at the intro, and at 0:30 ??

  • what are you talking about that sounds awesome! and on a squier!!???!!

  • The neck pickup clean had the tone for The Wall's solo. Sounded awesome.

  • Very awesome! You gotta love that tone a Tele and a Strat make.

  • Way to make a Squire sound totally awesome! haha

  • what's your fuckin problem dude?! Jealous of the german who plays way better than you play in your retarded fantasies?!

  • i heard some, another brick in the wall, and wind cries mary.

Verry nice playing mate :o i enjoyd watching :)

  • nice playing, I have the same guitar and so far I love it, I agree with you, stock pickups are great!. the only problem I have is that it gets out of tune really easy after bending. do you hace the same problem??, if not, any ideas fot that?

  • I can't shredd for crap on a neck single coil pickup. But it sounds .... idk different from humbuckers. any suggestions??

  • probably cuz the humbuckers are higher output

  • Why did you call this video lame guitar shredding?? that was friken awesome!

  • Cuz more peps will watch this then.

  • great, not really shreding dude, but that is some sweet impro

  • 100,000th view! :D

Do you just freestyle it? Or did you write that beforehand? :o

  • Totally freestyle! Just random improvisation. Thanks everyone. Stock Squire pickups, yep.

  • I think what Im trying to convey from my previous post here is that not everyone wants to be he new EVH....... that is down to raw talent and being in the right place at the right time with everything else totally dialed in with the band, it dosent happen often...... for example EVH and VH worked back then because the mix of talent in the band was perfect...so chill out, this guy can play and he can teach others

  • Wow dude that was awesome, for a "lame" shredder you kick many of metalhead's ass ! You're a great player, I suscribe if not already done !

  • whats up with shit guitar, awesome amp and neat playing

  • This is pretty sweet tone there. stock squire pickups?

  • Nice trick - call it lame to get pity votes

    You win - 5 stars

  • 0:30 sounds like he is going to play the wall solo, perfect tone for it too.

  • Ah, blues shredding. Such a great art. Most people these days seem to think you need to to be thrash metal to shred.

  • got a great heavy blues sound. must have some stevie ray somewhere in the ol album collection

  • Haha, yeah he should probably stick with blues, hes not a bad blues player and that guitar/amp is not suited for shredding lol

  • Dude. You make fun of yourself - but you can tear it up. Fo- shanks! yyyyyyeeeeeeahhh bwoi!!!1

  • 3:33 Sounds like yngwie malmsteen haha

  • its a really good guitar but i bought it for 230 pounds =/

  • yeah, vox r suited to the teles sound...i prefer to use the fender champ.

  • nothing beats a Telecaster and Vox

id choose them any day over

a Les Paul with a marshall

  • this is awesome dude, dont put yourself down ahah, i wish i could play like this lol

  • that was preettty cool

  • Not sure i understand what is happening unless i'm missing something.

I thought the playing was brilliant and when someone is testing or at least showing off equipment mistakes happen.

Christ mine are full of them lol

But like this video it's about showing people what sound you get from the perticular setup you are using.

  • shredding is pointless unless you have meaning behind it, no one wants to hear stupid shredding all day, i wana hear some feeling in solos.

  • @fuchalo I think you're just jealous you can't play as good as rotren. haaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaa haa!!!!!!!! Whew, i haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

  • @fuchalo "shredding is pointless . . . . . i wana hear some feeling in solos."

translation: "I am a really slow player, so rather than admire and respect a fast player, I'll criticize him. It makes me feel a lot better"

  • How about the guy is just having fun with what he can do, which is pretty awesome, why does it have to be so serious and meaningful all the time...lighten up seriously, we all enjoy playing and improving. I find that most people that find fault with others are either resentful and frustrated players or really great guitarists desperate to tell the world how great they are.........

  • the second part of the solo sounded like pink floyyd another brick in the wall

  • What's lame about this?

  • nice dont turn off yourself down!!

    keep rocking dude

sorry if my grammar is bad because im from other country

  • Don't get either...get an Ibanez RG2ex1, or an Ibanez RG120, with A line 6 spider 15 watt amp...getting those things would be much more worth your money

  • Comment removed

  • you play well mate. Dont shoot yourself down.

  • Great amp! Got one, and i'll never use any other kind of combo!

  • the guy looks kinda scared at the begining :P

  • Sounds great!

  • you suck.. this guys great

  • cor

  • If you think that sucks you need a slap. As it stands, I want to chop off your hands and attach them to my body in the hope that your skills might be transferred to me. Somehow, I don't think this would benefit either of us.

  • You're awesome, your guitar playing is so fluid and natural, that's great man.

  • man... you make fun of yourself at your lack of shredding...

Well.. I wish I could suck that much. >________>

  • I love that this didn't stay strictly in the pentatonic scale in one position like so many people do. very nice improv. =]

  • ur great, i love ur guitar too

  • Oh god.. I just hate telecasters... they are ugly as sin.... BUT I LOVE THE SOUND!

  • shreding is just messin around and havin fun

  • No, Shredding is the act of playing Complex and Technically Difficult lead lines in rapid Succession. what your referring to is what we call Jamming

  • ah thank you. sorry got my terms mixed up

  • @Snakebite1138 hence "lame"

  • thats not shredding at all

  • Uh, yeah, it is

  • no its not as far as I am concerned

  • that sounds amazing for a squier tele, which model is it?

  • oh yeah! nothing beats a tele neck pick up

  • are you using stock pickups?

  • I wanna see what he can do on a paul reed smith!!!!

  • sounds pretty good

  • holy.

  • Ive got this guitar,But you play it 10x better, almost sounded like Eric Johnson for a minute.NICE!!!!!!!

  • LAME?!?!

    Dude you're fucking brilliant!

  • wow :O

how can u get that sound out of a squier? X.X"

  • Do you know stuff about guitars dude its a pedal

  • i know its a distortion

    im just saying

its a great sound for a squier

  • squiers are not that different from Fender originals

  • squiers get a bad rap, but they're not bad.

  • Exactly. You Could take off the squier logo and replace it with a fender logo and 90% of these retards who trash them would say "Nice Fender!"

  • I love my squier telecaster. i love the neck, squier necks are thin and they are fantastic to bend on. I think I'll have mine in this lifetime and the next.

  • I plan on getting a Squier Classic Vibe stratocaster myself here shortly, I've heard nothing but good about them. I'm gonna try one out at my local guitar shop first though.

  • yeah check it out man. I just love any fender product, call me a fender posterboy though.

  • I'd recommend a Fender MIM (Made in Mexico) Stratocaster alot more than Squier (If you have the extra cash) but its all up to you

  • yeah, i went to my local music shop and tried out a little bit of everything. Fender American strats, mexican and the classic vibe series. MIM strats are good.

  • isn't squier a subcompany of fender?

  • Yes actually, they're their daughter brand, AKA they make cheap versions of fender instruments

  • mmm i recently listened to one of those at local store and they are badass... great instruments in reasonable price

  • I have the exact same guitar!!

    how much was yours worth?)

  • I got mine for about 169 dollars.

  • I paid my red one 230 euros...

  • Unless they played them of course. I honestly think you can feel the difference in quality

  • ive got one among many other things... its apparently called an M-50, its actually a kind of LP rip off... and ive got $3000+ guitars like a JEM and a PRS and obviously the squier isnt as good but it still holds up just fine as my alternate tuning guitar... people just dont get that any company has the potential to build a nice guitar... there are good ones and lemons and for squier the rate of lemons is just higher than fender US

  • hey man, your videos are excellent. whenever i have a question about gear, i look to you first

  • I've got a Classic Vibe, tey have Jumbo frets. Nice.

  • Actually you dont really think you can't shred.... ;)

  • Cool.

I have the fender mexican telecaster and I find it is extremely easy to play.

  • Nice one dude. It's impressive what you can do with a Squier tele. I plan on taking one of the new Classic Vibes teles which I was fairly inpressed with without any upgrades and replacing the p-ups and adding 500k pots. I don't see why anyone wouldn't get a squier and upgrade it. So much cheaper than an American Fender, the only good reason I can think of spending that much on a guitar would be getting a G&L.

  • The bad thing about squier's is that they only come with medium frets. Some of the American Telecasters come with the Jumbo frets, which I favour. If you don't like jumbo frets though, you may as well buy a squier standard, upgrade the pickups and maybe the hardware.

  • DUDE!!!! SHRED-TASTIC!!!

  • "lame"? TOTALLY NOT!

  • I think u play great.

  • I have the AD100VT. Needed the volume to cope with playing with big horn section. I was looking at buying a tele as a second guitar - I'm sold. Now if only I could play like that.....

  • i got a butterscotch tele affinity

  • nice one!!!i suck at guitar, but you rock man!!!!

  • hmm, ive been wanting to play shit like that for years, but i dont know how, can anybody show me scales or it, and im not sure what type of music he was playing

  • Haha, thats awesome I was looking up my guitar to see some demo's with it (squier tele) and you also have the same amp as me XD good to see what I can do with me ol guitar and amp ^^ I got alot to learn...

  • pretty good dude, dont be so hard on urself

  • dam cold blooded.rock on on

  • "lame guitar shredding"??

this guy's licks are awesome :D

  • Hes good as.The person putting the text in the video is obvioulsy an imature gay bingo caller that knows nothing about music....

  • It was the guy in the video who put the text in.

He's using this thing called "modesty", ever heard of it?

  • man your fingers are so smooth! such skills that would take so long to obtain!!!! haha

  • nice man

  • i would take your playing any day of the week you are amazing

  • 2nd'd

  • squier rocks my affinity strfat gives out a real good bluesy tone but the tune does get out a bit while using the whammy bar sometimes....but then with the correct action and the intonation done up it pretty welll stays in tune.

  • The standard Squier strats are built pretty well. A lot of tunning problems happen in the nut. I put a nice graphite nut on. Those works great. But now I am putting a floyd rose with a locking nut on my strat. Now more tunning problems.

  • Thats right,I had a bone nut made for my Squier Tele Custom II,its a fabulous guitar

  • Thank you, Robert Renman. I've bought a Standard Telecaster (cherry) thanks to you.

  • vox amp rock

just bought the VT15.. perfect for home because of the watt-poti on the backside..

really a good choice for goot tone at low volume levels.. especially when you live in a flat and wont distrub ur neighbours all the time :)

    keep on strumming

  • I detect no lameness whatsover

  • nice job. I like it

  • it's lame??? why???? I don't understand :S But Nice work man!!! :P

  • Nice man.. Your lesson videos rock.. Lame what?? You play great!
