hey...im from culion palawan...but im not ashamed of it,,,infact im proud of it bcoz of it's rich history, culture and nature,....tenkyu for documenting our place...u did a great job.. :)
Well i've been there last april 29,2009 with my two best friend gem and loyd...great ilands..everyone was very nice..i dont mind if they called ilands of living dead ...because for me the most important we experience the natural beauty of paradise islands and warm hearted residents specially to pavia family.
I visited Culion when I was diving at the Sangat Island Reserve just across the bay, lovely town, everyone was very friendly. They have an excellent museum about the colony there.
I have been collecting coins and i have several Culion leper colony Peso coins. I had an idea what culion is all about, but this video helped me alot to really understand it. It brings about a sense of sympathy and empathy. Really something to look back to. A part of our history worth knowing and reminiscing. Thank you for posting the video.
I was born & raised in Culion, I actually spent my elementary & secondary education there!we lived there until now..even if i am here working in manila..i have never been ashamed where i was before..
Culion is definitely different from the Culion we knew then. For me, its NOT just an ordinary, sleepy town that offers a nice view of the sea BUT RATHER IT IS a new born island, tranquility and quaint at its best.

4 those hu dont knw wat s CULION now?CULION,yES!Its a 4mer leper colony(as we all know)4MER meansoccuring in the pastPast is past!aldo we cn nvr change it.but we cn improv it 4 good image.Culion, for a time was nknamed,The Island of the Living Dead.
Actually being a leper colony before, it contributed greatly to the understanding and treatment of leprosy worldwide. Now,those memories are enshrined in the museum.

I was born and raised in this beautful paradise place. im proud to say that i came from this island, because this is where my childhood dream was started and the people here esp. the lepers was served as my inspirations and now im a Doctor.I am proud to say that Im a living trophy of culion.
well i was born and raised in culion if ive given onother chance il come home to my own hometown mas totoo pa nga silang tao kesa sa mga nanghuhusga sa kanila god loves us were born equal.........
kudos to this very informative video. it's high time for people to learn that there is more to culion than being an ex-leper colony. culion and its people should be stripped off the social stigma that has been associated with it for so long. now, culion has been given a chance to be seen for what it truly is - a beautiful paradise island with equally beautiful and warm-hearted residents.
i love dis people so much and the lepers u see here i have worked with them before and they are so beautiful people... the island is really good and i hope to come back again...
