A two thousand pound car, that can move at a top speed of 100+ MPH is a deadly weapon, when a suspect uses his vehicle as a battering ram that is a threat to not only the Law Enforcement Personnel but also the public. Looks like the Police Officers handled this really well. If a Police Officer is on the hood of my car I would come to a stop not keep trying to drive off while he's pointing a gun at me.

The second that pos hit the officers car while trying to flee in a stolen car he signed his death warrant. I dont care if the offficer jumped on the car, IT WAS STOLEN AND DID NOT BELONG TO THE DEAD GUY. The officer was both right and wrong. The officer could have used non lethal force by shooting out the tires while the suspect was stopped. Instead the cop hopped onto the hood and shot the guy. There are a LOT of police chases that end w/o the officer jumping on the hood and shooting the fella. Maybe adrenaline kicked in and it was in the heat of the moment but he is trained to do a proper job and to be in control. He wasn't. If he was he would have preformed different actions.

True, plenty of police chases end w/out someone getting shot, BUT a lot of departments have a policy that says guns are only used in self defense/deadly force....NOT to shoot at tires (and probably miss, and skip down the street into someone's house). The officer ended up on the hood because the guy tried to hit him...it was his ONLY option, not a choice.

The guy hesitated and the cop jumped on the car. The car was at a stand still until the cop got on it. At which time the suspect panicked and tried to drive away. The cop should have had his head on tight, he didn't, he fucked up.

The officer exited his vehicle to go hands on. Since the hood of the car was right next to his driver's door, he had no option but to go to the hood when the vehicle started moving. Driving like an idiot, and putting people in danger is no different than waving a loaded gun in public.

Simply put, that suspect never tried to ram that officer. He merely tried to drive away. I would love to take that on in a lawsuit. That chase began under false pretenses based on Blue Ash PD's pursuit policy.

The suspect was clearly in the wrong in many aspects and ultimately should not have even been in that vehicle. It's easy to be an armchair attorney when you are not directly involved in the actions. Too many bleeding hearts and cop haters leads to elevated crime and criminal behavior due to unrealistic/ineffective punishments/penal system.

Driving at those speeds is a public safety issue. I say the cop was brave for putting his life on the line to ensure the safety of others, of which, the criminal obviously had disregard for. You shoot to eliminate the danger. I also feel it was the best approach to avoid shooting the passenger.

May not be justified with jury but justified with the government prosecutors who won't touch them. It's their moment of excitement.
