this is easily the best cover of lucretia my reflection. i think theyve captured the atmosphere of the sisters of mercy but also added a bit more of a dark side to it. its better than the original

I like this version. TSOM made it a great song. This is just an updated and uptempo version. It would've just sounded stupid done the same way as Eldritch and Co. Plus, when I saw BLB live it was the best song of a bunch great tunes.

Decent by current rock scene standards but vastly inferior to the original. You lose the power of the bassline and the singer just can't carry the natural intensity of the song without it feeling really forced. Also he gets more than a few of the lyrics wrong.

That's a matter of opinion, and I don't agree. Now don't get me wrong, this is a decent version. And I respect the fact they covered a great band. But Andrew Eldritch's voice is so awesome and nothing can top the original. Wes does a decent job though.

Maybe what you mean is that it sounds more "american 80's 90's rock" like, but that does not mean it sounds better than the original. Original's are always better than covers. The only exception to that is "All along the watch tower" version by Hendrix of a Dylan song, and it is not better, is Hendrix
