FOX makes me sick. They con upstart artists into thinking they will be propelled into a position such as Seth McFarlane, but the truth is, you end up loosing ownership of what might be your best idea, then forced to watch, as that chance you thought you had at becoming an animation producer evaporates.
problem with these contests is that the winner doesn't realize just how much they get screwed money wise. The losers get it the worst. Every short becomes property of FOX and can be used to make new series' however the original creator will get nothing for it.
@spiderweb20 actually i won the thing and so far it's been pretty great. the trick was to do a short that they couldn't really make into a series. then pitch them something else. which is now in development. to this point FOX has been really good and very hands off creatively. all their notes are really valid. i have no complaints so far. and i'm about five months into it.
@spiderweb20 That is why before you submit you must get it copyright Registered. To keep security of your property. most people dont realize this. DONT submit anything you make without registering a copyright first or you will no doubtingly get screwed. Make sure its yours before it becomes theirs.

I used to like FOX for Malcolm in the Middle and King of the Hill. Now they are both gone. All they have now are three shows by the dumb Seth and the Simpsons. >_>
King of the Hill was very good. Better than Family Guy overall I say. Especially with the almost unwatchable Family Guy episodes 2002 and down. KOTH is definitely better than American Dad and The Cleveland show too.

Fuck this. Just get rid of all the animated shows except Family Guy. King of the Hill sucks, The Simpsons stopped being funny ages ago (put it on Adult Swim or something) and American Dad isn't that funny, either. Oh, and Sit Down, Shut Up? What, that hasn't been cancelled yet?

FOX makes me sick. problem with these contests is that the winner doesn't realize just how much they get screwed money wise. The losers get it the worst. Every short becomes property of FOX and can be used to make new series' however the original creator will get nothing for it.

@spiderweb20 actually i won the thing and so far it's been pretty great. the trick was to do a short that they couldn't really make into a series. then pitch them something else. which is now in development. to this point FOX has been really good and very hands off creatively. all their notes are really valid. i have no complaints so far. and i'm about five months into it.

@spiderweb20 That is why before you submit you must get it copyright Registered. To keep security of your property. most people dont realize this. DONT submit anything you make without registering a copyright first or you will no doubtingly get screwed. Make sure its yours before it becomes theirs.
if people were smart they use their shorts in a portfolio and get a job at a animation studio, your better off doing that, instead of this crap.

King of the Hill was very good. Better than Family Guy overall I say. Especially with the almost unwatchable Family Guy episodes 2002 and down. KOTH is definitely better than American Dad and The Cleveland show too.

2. Create your own 2-4 min. animation based on a holiday.
3. Post your animation to the Aniboom website.
4. (optional) If you have YouTube, go ahead and upload it there,
5. Wait for judges until they vote for the best animation on August 29.
For those people who are good at animating, you might be lucky to get a good prize. But it's okay if you don't want to enter. FOX is actually pretty good at animating shows.

Fuck this. Just get rid of all the animated shows except Family Guy. King of the Hill sucks, The Simpsons stopped being funny ages ago (put it on Adult Swim or something) and American Dad isn't that funny, either. Oh, and Sit Down, Shut Up? What, that hasn't been cancelled yet?
Seriously, without Seth, Fox would have nothing. Seth even has massive support from Adult Swim. $13 million home. YouTube deals and DVDs. Not bad for a once-cancelled animated sitcom from 1999.

Actually King of The Hill is a pretty intelligent show. American dad pretty funny. The Simpsons are losing it but may bring back a little comedy. Sit down Shut Up I expected to be good since that dude who made Arrested Devlopment is in it. Plus dude im really happy that your choices for a Sunday lineup is BAD. I mean the same show for 3 HOURS. It would get old.
