So what is the mission in Iraq about? I thought that was to remove Saddam Hussain? What is the mission in Afghanistan? To capture Osama Bin Laden? He is reportedly in Pakistan near the Afgn border, yet Bush has no plans in going for him, and he won't fuk with the Pakistanis as they have nukes.
So does anyone know, just why are our armies still in those two countries?

It is a matter for the Iraqis to sort out their own govt. Our armies are trained to defend our homeland from enemies, not to police other people's countries. For too long, America has tried to dictate their way to the rest of the world. Iraqis are a well educated and strong race of people. Afghans are a very tough breed that NO ONE will ever beat, so who are you to demand that natives of these lands need to be dictated to for American ideologies?

Draft or no draft, the war will drag on until the American and British occupying forces leave that country, and America will not leave Iraq until the last drop of oil is gone. The war with Saddam has been done and dusted, yet does anyone have any idea why our forces are still in Iraq and Afghanistan? Osama is reportedly in Pakistan and their govt has no plans of arresting him, which is what the Afg war was about, was it not?

It is the "war czar" that has been appointed by Bush that is saying we might need a draft. Personally I'm all for it. Maybe all the idiots who voted for Bush will think twice if they know their kids are gonna get killed in Iraq fighting for no good reason. It's easy when someone else's kid is doing the dying. Yeah I was for the War in the beginning, and now against it adamantly. Thing is if we are going to be over there, and letting our troops die, rather than elongate the war to 2010, get the draft going to expedite the bullshit mission. Also, alot the dumbass kids who were raised on the Internet need a REALITY check.

Brilliant idea! The multiple tours our current troops must endure is an outrage. Watch how fast we pull out of Iraq when the draft is implemented because any politician with the platform of continuing the war with no exit strategy will not get re-elected.

Of course there should be a draft. Should have from the beginning of the Invasion of Iraq. You won't find a single one of these CHICKENHAWK republicans volunteering. Our armed services are comprised of the poorest of our nation NOT sons of Repube politicians and rich contributors, not a one.

Yes the draft is coming, the Democrats floated this under the republican led congress awhile back and its a sure bet they'll seek to get it. Also, Canada has already stated that any future US draft dodgers or war resisters (currently serving now as COs) are not welcome there. Deferrments? Get them ready...
