They let her go because she did an interview and she let the world know where she was from and that she was just acting. She did come out with a mix tape in 2004 though..She's kinda like Rick Ross in away. Ross went to a good college ,but drop out after his second year, he then came back to Miami to become a CO.. Now he's rich rapping about DRUGS, and alot of other BS.

That shouldn't have mattered though; Nas was never a street cat, but damn if his first three albums don't portray that type of pedigree. It's plenty of hot lyrics that didn't come from street cats, anyway: ATCQ; De La Soul; Mos Def; Talib; Common; The Roots, etc., etc. The street doesn't automatically validate one as a hip hop artist, even though that's where it originated in NYC in the mid 70's. Music is life and life evolves, or it becomes extinct.
