This is really great. Right up there with Norbert, which is saying something. I love this show and this is one of my favorite songs and I think your voice is beautiful and your emotion was great. One word of advice: most of your motions and eyebrow-raising and all that was GREAT, but maybe not do quite so many? Let the song speak for itself. Other than that, top-notch.

Perhaps a bit too much on the actions/expressions at some points. And this is just me, but I found your American accent too heavy. Which isn't your fault being your normal voice of course; I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who'd get bothered by it. But it still has to be said that you are a very good singer, and that high 'A' at the end (and the song in general) was right on the mark. I wish you the best of luck in expanding your range to that high 'C' in 'Moving Too Fast'.

this is actually painful to listen to. Get Norbet Leo Butz doing it on the cast album of The Last Five Years and you'll hear how an actor sings the part. And I saw him in the show. This guy not only is a bad actor, he's 15 years too young to even understand the part. yuch.

I am quite inclined to disagree. In fact, if you move from watching Norbert to this one, you see that this McHugh sings more of the song than Butz does. In fact, But has a habit of sing-song talking through out this song. That is not bad, it's just a different take. The acting and singing in this clip are very impressive.

The only part I agree with is age. Not 15 years too young, but still a little young for the role. In a few years, however, he should be on call for a role like this.
