  • Back in the mid 90's real acting videos in games were new stuff, so acting was cheesy as shit. You can see that in original Resident Evil too...so what would you wait from Desert Strike?

  • @Aguz25

But the RE cutscenes were meant to be cheesy. RE was made to be a 'zombie B-movie'. On the other side, at the times of Jungle Strike much better actors in PC cutscenes where available. For example Wing Commander 3+4, Zork: Nemesis or C&C: Red Alert. Even C&C1 had better actors.

  • Genesis version had great music, but wasnt better than PC version.

I played this game on a Rap-10 (Sound Canvas family) using a 80386 and an amplifier. Wow...it sounded like i was listening to Van Halen's drummer performing "Jump" + chorus and reverb. A blast.

Animations were still thanks god. Action on this CD version is cheesy STAFU

  • These "American's" don't have an American accent. lol! Love cheesy pc games.

  • All this needs is Chuck Norris as the lead.

  • guys..;.. he still has Nuqcleaur Missiles

  • Carlos Ortega has strange eastern slavic accent. xD

  • you'd think the game company couldve at least hired some mediocre actors instead of using their own useless programmers who can't act for shit

  • seriously

static pictures on my Genesis were better

and the music is somehow crap

  • I downloaded this a few months ago from Megaupload and couldn't get the bloody thing to work in DOS Box. lol.

  • Thats a hit of nostalgia!! :D I had Desert Strike, Jungle strike and Nuclear strike (and another one, cant remember what that was though)

  • @theflyingmusician1 is it Soviet Strike, man I want to find my CD and play it again on my MAC, :( such a great game, the music was just so good aswell :(

  • @theflyingmusician1 Urban ore Soviet

  • with those crappy videos i stick with the SNES version

  • I love when he says "within 72 hours."

  • I had this and Desert Strike

  • They are using the exact same written dialogue from the Genesis version in these FMVs!!! which is the main reason it appears sooo lame (not to mention the terrible actors)

  • All the actors are bad on this.

  • i so wanna know the names of those actors

  • A fat nerdy guy with gay sunglasses and a bandana covering his head?

    Now that's a villain

  • The acting is cringe worthy and hilarious at the same time!

  • Only in Jungle Strike do mailboxes and traffic lights explode

Oh and the acting is terrible, the music is shit, and the sounds are crap. I prefer the Sega version

  • song fails compared to iriginal.

  • Underground.

  • I used to love this game as a kid.

  • well at least EA got better at the video intros.... *lol*

  • I miss this game!

  • LOL I remember this!!!!

  • The Genesis version had way better intro music

  • looks like cheap action movie

  • This would make a good movie if someone got some better actors.

  • good thing congress didn't cut the space program? Oh the irony!

  • this funny

  • 1:44, the badguy cheesy smile

  • These are the most amateur cutscenes I've ever seen!

  • Acting is horrible. I like the still images on GEN/SNES much better.

  • wtf is that ? What happened to the comanche

  • Jungle strike was a great game! I played the Genesis version, it was a pretty good version.

  • what awful sound...

  • could the acting be any worse please???

  • great deal of actors EA employs, riding on Westwood's C&C license. (Save for Kane, he was always there though)

  • @neilandrewporter

    yes it could :p

and don't complain, at the time it was decent enough. The first good actor in games I know was the fella playing Kane in C&C

  • it is 1 of the classics games now i only got dos but want full cd rip

    same as commando

  • Music was better on the sega versions

  • I had both Desert Strike and Jungle Strike. They were both done very well for their time in the early 90s.

  • i loved this game!, though i always did first level back wards, cuz i also had trouble with the car bombers

  • the bad dude in this game is suppose to look like sadam hussein... & president clinton is in the game(genesis version) also

  • The Saddam guy was from Desert Strike.

  • yup, in Jungle Strike it's his son.

  • I think the White House looked more like the White House in the Sega version. Here ist lookes like a glass domed shopping mall

  • oh geez ...

  • A great game on genesis, lol kinda wish they had these FMVs in it, but obviously that was a generation away. Still, the video is not THAT bad, for the era.

  • I want this version of jungle strike

Exist desert strike with cutscenes too??

  • The PC version of Desert Strike has the usual scenes from the Mega Drive/Genesis version.

  • The difference is that the Comanche at the title screen is black instead of beige. And the scenes are live action instead of frame by frame motion.

  • I didn't know a PC version of Jungle Strike existed and the cutscenes from the PC version remind me of the cutscenes in the later Soviet and Nuclear Strike games and the Commanche also appears in Nuclear Strike too.

  • Seems to me that the Genesis/MD version is better. :P

  • oh god, his corny jokes suck when they're actually spoken. the hero's jokes always made me laugh when I could put my own tone to them.

  • I absolutely love the mis-sync of the vocals. Can't stop laughing.

  • Nevertheless---that was a good game, and hard! Some levels took me a long time to beat, even with the Razor 1911 ammo trainer.

  • I think "underacted" might be closer to the truth.

I had the MS-DOS version; no music or sound, and the animations were stills---which allowed you to create voices for the characters in your own head.

  • LOL check out the guys doo rag pmsl

  • it's crap.

  • Very bad acted for god sake!

  • pc intro is made of fail and fail

  • Loved the Jungle Strike theme at the begining! The music is awesome.

  • After so many British people complaining about Americans doing bad British accents, it's good to see the same is true for Brits trying to sound American.

  • yeh, it's pretty tortured, isn't it.

although america is never going to live down dick van dyke in mary poppins.

    maaaarrryyyy poppppeeennnnsss

  • I love how the attack helicopter sounds like its powered by a rusty bike.... and blowing up Washington DC wont take pressure off of the drug cartels, though it may guaruntee your plantations being invaded by a coalition of the West. Awesome video, zeusgb (5 out of 5)

  • I can't believe this is real.

  • It's real and it's cheesy!

  • @zeusgb I just loved the 90s, the time in which computer games were supposed to be that way!

  • @chronotriggerxl

Still playing this version on my old PC.
