I love the promo for Columbo..I remember my mom and I watching Columbo on Ch 5. I forgot about the promo.Did anyone catch the original Sunday Mystery Theme playing in the background for Columbo?
I used to buy Star every week (what a waste of money. If only I spent it on microsoft stocks instead. Damn it). They had just changed their format. Instead of being a folded page type of publication, they started using staples to hold the pages together. Plus they went with much more celebrity news and gossip instead of National Enquirer type of stories that they used to. Oh, they still had that kind of story from time to time, but much less of it. Plus they went with more color photos.
i did'nt notice it til the other day. that's worse than a typo or bad grammar on a comment! i thought about deleting it and reposting it. you were the first to comment on it--JFD FTW!!!
I was unaware of the fact Channel 5 used these bumpers! The music was carried over to the "5 Marquee" bumpers introduced later in the year (with the Metromedia "5" changed to the Fox "5" when they became WNYW)
"El Grande De Coca-Cola"? You think Coke had an issue with that name?
These came out in the year I was born. 1985! Regan babies all the way!
I was born on Sunday March 17th, 1985 to be exact.
Very nice job! Keep up the great work! Thanks for posting! A++++++++

I've never seen the classic "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" on a WNEW-TV promo towards the end. It is a classic. I have it on DVD.

The Pathmark Lady was the spokesperson for the Star during the '80s? How did I forget that?
EarlSnohomish 2 years ago
@EarlSnohomish You sure thats not the SHOPRITE lady? It sure sounds like her! Pathmark still had James Karen doing the ads in the 80s....
DanZero77 2 years ago
Heh. I meant the ShopRite Lady, Dan (as you probably guessed ;-)

Those Carvel commercials were very '80's.
