  • Do you remember if the hole punch worked "easily" to punch out the magnet or was it "hard" to punch out the magnet material? Thanks:)

    BOP

  • such great ideas! and i love how everything is budget friendly. thank you!

  • wow!!!! you're amazing....

  • Thanks so much for the tips on brushes. I can't afford the MAC brushes, but can go to the craft store and get something similar. It's so refreshing to see an adult giving makeup tips, instead of a 15 yr old. Love your video's!!

  • lol ur sooo funneh i just subscribed :D

  • When you stack the bins can you pull them out like drawers or do you have to unstack them? I really want those bins!

  • Haha 6:58 is a great face

  • Is that acrylic case microwavable? I found that putting your lipsticks in the palette case & microwaving them was easier. But it was different than that one. Please let me know! :) OR let me know how you will do it w/that case.

  • I'm gong to Micheal's this weekend for brushes, brush holders and I'll be making gifts of them to my makeup loving friends this Christmas.

  • A true artist, seeing beyond the obvious. Thank you for sharing :)

  • The white cardboard boxes are actually just white cigar boxes. Most cigar & smoke shops will give you boxes that they would otherwise throw away. There are also some shops that will sell you wooden boxes for a about $2 each. Some of them are retro looking and really cute. Call first before you go and see if they will give them to you! Thanks for all your great ideas. You are awesome!!!

  • I love that! Melting the lipstick. I am a so diy makeup artist. I would. And yes, I love paint brushes. Great finds! I've never used stencils but I will experiment. Thanks!

  • Hi, i was wondering if you could help. My eyelids always seem to be "swollen" so you can't really see them. I have very beautiful eyes & need a way to make the shadow show to bring them out. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • great ideas, thanks!

  • any idea what a good paint brush for blending shadows would be? Thanks so much for all your videos! I just found you and can't wait to watch all your videos!

  • i love the music at the start makes e smile :)

  • save a little ca$h if u recycle thin advert magnets you can get free a lot of times & even Google :freebies:magnets or so & use the hole punches.I like making mini cute magnets from thin advert ones & you can paint them to cover the ads.

It works both ways with finds from 1 store to use totally unexpected for another thing:crafts stuff from hardware store & makeup stuff from craft store LOL i love it ;) Great vid ! I feel inspired !!

  • I love those filler beads!! I use marbles for my brushes but those beads are a really good idea, too. I used Sephora as an inspiration, too, but I love love LOVE decorating with marbles so I brought it over to my makeup collection. =]

  • Great video, thanks a lot!

  • how can you melt lipstick?

i know with heat but how?

    boil?

    just curious

  • there are michaels in canada!!!

  • i think he is refering to other foreign countries canada is in the same continent as the US

  • there is Micheal's in Canada

  • lol hes like me :)

buying stuff he doesnt really need lol

  • umm whats the paint brush that can be used instead of the mac 116 brush called???

  • You are so creative! Thank you so much for all the new ideas.

  • r those paint brushes?

  • awesome. i've got so many little projects to work on now! thank you!

  • I work at Michaels. We have makeup artists come in all the time for brushes

  • thanks for working there i love it

    i like the modelplanes

  • Could you make a rainbow polka dot look im not sure it just sounds really cool

  • i will do a rainbow polka dot look

  • So creative and innovative, love your videos :-)

  • i work at michaels. yaaayyyy!

  • do you know what's the first stackable thing called?i can't find it in micheals.T.T

  • I wish I would've seen this video while that sale was still going on... :(

  • I like your theme song! Haha =)

  • This was such a good video. Now I have a shopping list made up for Michaels. : ) I will try to find some online coupons first. Thanks for all the great advice and for showing us some affordable alternatives.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses art brushes for makeup! I love Michaels... using the magnets to hold pots in compacts is a great idea!

Wouldn't the acrylic leech into the acrylic box?

    Great video. Thanks!

  • my god u have such great ideas...luv ur videos alot

  • i love going to Michaels and also go to walmart if they have things i like i will buy but not all the time they do so thats when i go to Michaels

  • Thank you so much. Alot of your advice pertains to us college students. THanks for all the bargains!

  • I'm so going to Michaels tomorrow on my day off!

  • I'm so glad we have you!

You have no idea how much we learn from you, and how much money you help us save!!!

    You are amazing!

  • Who are you to judge another person? I don't see Koren living his life hidden behind a computer screen bashing other people, like you. What does that show for your moral character, or rather, lack there of.

  • Are the Fan brush and 3 angled ones you talked about after that Taklon? I am looking for inexpensive synthetic brushes :)

  • enkore u r very good

but u need studio for make all people see good

  • is that one you compared to the 116 good for applying foundation?

  • Canada also has a Micheals. I love it there <3

  • I also did the Sephora inspired Brush holder. However, I went to Ross and found a nice glass vase for ($2.99) and filled with beads to make the brushes stand up.

It makes it so much easier to grab a brush.

  • Yay for Michaels! I'm an artist and my second home is Michaels...besides Ulta and a Mac store now ^_^ lol But I'm sooooo glad you show us cheap ways to organize and start our makeup collection..others on here just seem to "brag" about what they have..yet claiming its storage techniques and you and XSparkage are the only two I know who seem to truely care about their viewers and teaching us so thank you! ^_^

  • I love all your video! thanks so much for sharing! :) i was wondering what craft store brush (loew cornell?) would u say is the equivalent of the Mac 217 brush? i'm kinda new at all this and that's pretty much the only brush i use but these are apparently way cheaper :)

  • What I'd do is I'd go to the craft store and just compare em ^_^ I have some loew cornell brushes but idk which ones are the same as MAC 217 otherwise I'd tell ya...but I'd just go compare myself lol

  • I'm wondering:) About a year ago I had my pictures taken and the lady doing my makeup was puting her brushes in these glass jars with a clap lid. I store my brushes in ziplock bags because I have really no other place to put them...so my question is: What is your best advice of where I should store my brushes? I have sensitive skin so putting them out in the open doesn't really work for me:( So what's your best advice?

  • You probably might want to look into a BRUSH ROLL instead.

  • thank you, I'll look into that:) They have some @ Coastal scents.

  • hey i reallyy love yr videos but i have trouble with KNOWING which brushes are used for what.

can u please make a video or something describing when to use each brush thnks :)

  • I am sure that someone has already said this - but I think you will find that the fourth stencil is a spotted dog or dalmation type print :)

BTW - I love your videos - I am looking at starting my own channel to do the same kind of thing - just haven't got around to it yet

  • You are amazing! If you ever happen to be at the Michaels in my area (NJ) I'll totally hook you up with my employee discount. Yup! 25% off.

  • awe thanks! which NJ store? :)

  • clifton. :D

  • lmfao, Michaels is in Canada, too..

    not just the US.

  • Sorry I meant the 249 (golden taclon one)

  • Does anyone know a dupe for a MAC 252, something from Michael's?

    Thanks

  • If you like the L-C and you have a hobby lobby in your area, this week they are having a sale-50% of brushes!!

  • what section of michaels did yo get the stackable boxes? and whats that royal soft grip deerfoot cut brus? is it 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch, or 3/8 inch?

  • michaels doesn't carry those anymore :( i know, because i work at one

  • Maybe the one you work at doesn't carry them? I don't see why Michaels stores everywhere would stop carrying those? They're pretty useful.

  • i think it was in the beads section? cant recall now. Any way deerfoot, I have in 1/4 and 3/8.

  • it looks to me like you have an addiction to organizational products... i do too, thats why i can relate... your great!

  • Great video!! Just suscribed to your vids and can't enough. Have you done a video on "must haves" for beginner brush users? Not sure whether I should be looking for hard or soft brushes, or whether to get long handled or short. Does the material of the brush matter? I'm an RN, but I love love love make up and am thinking I chose the wrong profession, smiles.

  • Which would you prefer: the michael's crafts store brushes or costal scents brushes?

  • there are some brushes that are not available at Michaels, so I look at CS for those that are not avail in Art brushes

  • I have several Low Cornell brushes plus I have given them away to my friends. They are fantastic, I was able to buy quite a few when I went to Orlando

  • Your hair looks cute with the bandana.

  • oh and wat size is the fan brush? cheers!

  • hi. which series is the fan brush from loew and cornell, and is it the golden tacklon bristles?

    thanks!

  • the crazy thing is i work for michaels and seen the stuff you bought and i would have never thought to do with them what you are doing... you are so freaking amazing!

  • WOW! you're like the martha stewart of makeup! I love your vids, I am gonna run to Michaels and get some brushes. Thanks so much :)

  • I always bought a fine paint brush at Michael's for my cake eyeliner...but I never thought of using the other size brushes for cosmetic use.

Thanks so much for the tips.

  • You are so creative! I'm getting my makeup brushes from Michael's!

  • whoo hoo

thats awesome ima go to craft store now man

    lol

and my mom went to a pharmacy for get some tylonol and they had NYX shadows and stuff there for 2.99 each!!!

  • hi thanks for all the advice! i love watching your videos for ideas! regarding the deer-foot doe-foot brush, what fiber is it? i've only seen the synthetic fiber one. this is the royal langnickel brand right?

  • its goat hair

  • Hey! Regarding the craft brushes, do you know which ones are softer? Watercolor brushes? Or the ones for acrylic or oils? I just don't know! HELP!!!! :D

  • the watercolor brushes tend to be softer as they are usually made with natural bristles, like goat hair.

  • i effing love michaels. i'd never thought to buy makeup brushes there.

  • Your entrance music reminds me of the reading rainbow... or maybe another pbs show. Am I totally wrong? Its catchy.

  • aww.. I miss Reading Rainbow! this intro was from Disney's Tarzan

  • very very helpful! Thanks so mucch! <3

  • i dont know what it is about you that makes me watch your videos...you are just sooo enterjetic...you just makeu me sooo calm!...i love love love watching your videos!

  • what does that suppose to mean?

  • i think she was being sarcastic as in being funny.. craft store where witches go, u know how witches does all kinds of craft/spells.. well im just guessing.. either way it was pretty mean..

  • mean?

what a delicate flower you must be...

  • Well, there are pagan supply stores that I guess some of them could be called "craft" stores.

  • @Daster420 ur wrong,im not sure if u were serious

but that was a unessasary comment.

  • are you going to do a tut on how to melt the lipsticks into the holder?!?!?

  • you mean the container/palettes?

  • u can do it really easily.

just cut up the lipstick and put it in a glass container surrounded by boiling water ( like a double boiler) and and a little bit of beeswax and vitamin E oil to harden the formula and moisterize, stir it a bunch then pour it in the container, and refrigerate it a bit. You can also try mixing your favorite colors or add glitter. Anoter idea is to melt beeswax vitaming and your powder eyeshadow to make a cream eyeshadow or liner. Hope this helps!!

  • your really creative

  • oh my god, i am in love with you! all of your videos are genius!

  • I didn't know you can melt lipstick. Sounds like a nice idea.

  • he hasa video on it

  • thank u sooooo much!!!

    ill do that:)

  • great video, its so0o0o0o helpful!!!!!

:) btw..do u think the bead organizer would be good 4 storing nyx pigments? ive been looking 4 the little jars that usually sample pigments come in .. but cant find them so i was thinking wat about the bead organizer??

    xoxox Sdsgatita

  • hey SD- i saw this Tin Can box at michaels and inside are 24 round cilinder containers that might be more ideal for pigments. They are in the Bead Organizer section. There is also a plastic version of it. Just visit a Michaels or craft store close to you.

  • Micheal's are in Canada, too... just thought I'd let you know <3.

  • Do you have a video on melting lipstick?

  • YES - look it up in my Vid list. its called Melting Lipsticks.

  • thought i would let u know that there is a Michael's in Canada!! Luv ur tips.

  • Great tips! I'm a college student and my makeup & skincare products take up too much space on my desk. I think I'll invest in those stackable boxes :) I'm surprised I never thought of Michael's for makeup stuff because I am an ART student. lol.

  • How do you melt lipstick? My mom needs that for her collection! lol.

  • I have a video onmelting lipsticks. Look it up in my video list and I hope that helps your mom.

  • This was amazingly helpful and I just had to share this with everyone I know. Thank you for your GREAT videos!

  • THANK YOU for this video. I've gone to Michaels and come back with brushes that haven't worked very well because I wasn't sure what brand was best (most of them ended up being too stiff)

  • can you please tell me which size is the deer angled brush or delf angled brush? thanks in advance.

  • its 1/2" Doe Foot Brush.

  • i love the way you say ssoooo..... i love your videos

  • do the paint brushes shed? specifically the lowe cornell?

  • None of my loew cornell shed - so far, and had most of them for a few years now. Even the new ones I just got doesnt shed. My MAC ones however shed every now and then.

  • I already have a Video on melting lipsticks:) just look it up in my video list.

  • u can also find those small mixing palettes used for water and acrylic paints - a small one would have 6 little "wells", each well about an inch wide and half and inch deep. Typically made of white plastic or tin. Probably range from $1 to $5Great for mixing pigments or other loose colors, foundations and shadows
