actualy, religion has nothing to do with war, its the human race, they have just always fought each other , back when they were just tribes they would war, the real problem for war is everyones power mad, and the power mad leaders just use their religion as an exuse to brain wash people to help them fight for power, you simple people are brain washed by the media
People will realize their stupidity in following religion, but by that time it will be too late. The time to change is now, not tomorrow, but right this moment. Face yourself and ask yourself the hardest questions to answer. It doesn't matter how hard you try to hide from reality, what matters is that you accept reality for what it is and how what you do with what you know. Time is ticking.
It's people who live comfortably behind a layed out way of life and thinking and explanation..they do not won't to think for themselves...just happy within their blissful ignorance...deny everything that science proves...which is ridiculous
No following of the original christian rules, like do unto others what you would won't others to do unto you..well what would they do to a gay person given the chance..etc..evolution is a joke..7 days..the earth 10 000 years old ..pleaseee..childish really
@jonnyrisas The Qur'an is scientifically correct. If your issue with religion is the ludicrous claim that the earth is 10,000 years old, you may want to look into religious texts other than the Bible. There are many different religions out there, you know. Don't judge every religion based on only one of them.
@Sarasince1992 Im just giving examples...every religion has very valuable teachings by highly advanvanced beings here to guide people....
Every religion, at it's core has great great stuff no doubt...but it's just how we take and use these teachings and end up with holy wars, suicide bombings in the name of "god"...competitions, who has the best god...or which is real...things not meant to be taken literally...are taken literally....not understanding the metaphors, reading between the lines.
I want to see another documentary named "in the name of Reason" to show how many people were massacred by Reason and science. From the Tuskegee experiment to the Eugenics movement, to the Cult of Reason in France to Enver Hoxha's "rational, atheistic, science oriented" regime in Albania, the only country to completely outlaw religion and seek to replace it with science and reason, it is clear that science and reason are no prize either and they, too, have blood on their hands.
@mysticresistence Nobody ever got killed in the name of atheism, the Hitler thing is the weakest argument on earth, Hitler was a Roman Catholic and he wrote in his book that "He was chosen by god to rid the earth of Jews" If most people had your philosophy, we'd be sleeping in caves and wondering if the earth is flat or not.
@alexandreleverrier No, Hitler was not an Atheist & I am not saying that or mentioning Hitler. I just ask that you look up "The Cult of Reason". They were a radical Atheist group during the French Revolution that massacred over 10,000 people in just 6 months for refusing to renounce religion & become Atheists & were determined to wipe out religion & create a "Rational, science based society". Don't believe me, just look it up.
@mysticresistence The context of the French revolution is very different, actually Robespierre created is own religion so it wasn't in the name of atheism or reason, during that short time people were attacking Christianity because of what it stand for, power and government. Robespierre didn't believe in atheism, he knew that a cult was necessary to control people. If you come to France one day, right were La Bastille used to be, there's a statue that represents the goddess of liberty.
@alexandreleverrier No, I am not talking about Robespierre who was a deist, I am talking about a different faction entirely who were called, again, "The Cult of Reason". They fought against Robespierre as they believed that even Deism wasn't far enough & fought for a world devoid of all religion & replaced with Reason & the sciences & to that end they killed peasants who refused to denounce religion & massacred a total of 10,000, all in the name of creating a "rational, atheistic society"
Uruk666hai, God your creator LOVES you and he has proved HIS love to you by having His SON JESUS Christ Die on the Cross for forgiveness of your sin. your coward satan is not smart and it hates you but you can,t figure that out coz it has blinded you, that's why you don't have peace coz he haunts you always. God loves you and through FAITH in JESUS Christ you can have eternal life. I right now command that your wickedness stops, in the NAME of the Lord JESUS. Say Amen!
maybe these kind og words could shock stupid people as christians or believers in something "magic" in something "omniscent" in something STUPID overall..
but doesn't works with people like me.
My "i'm satanista and i make love with the horned one" is sooo sarcastic that smart..
i dont believe in nothing except myself and my actions. Religion destroy you. religon blinds you.... poor stupid.... say Amen??
@Uruk666Hai I still LOVE YOU and your creator LOVES you. Your horned one is not smart still and if it won't save itself when he it's being thrown into eternal fire, do you think it will save you? There is nothing like LOVE in satan's vocabulary, go and ask it, it will tell you, you are deceived. BUT we love you. say Amen!!!
Peace be upon him who follows true guidance and believes in Allâh and His Messenger. I bear witness that there is no god but Allâh Alone with no associate, He has taken neither a wife nor a son, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. I call you unto the fold of Islam; if you embrace Islam, you will find safety (and peace).
I invite Floyd Mayweather and the sincere people to Islam, the only way of life accepted by God
9/11 doesnt represent Islam! might have been an action by muslims but not sanctioned by Islam!
ilah translates to God! People worship all sorts of false Gods, but Allah is the name of the True God who deserves to be worshiped! I hope is clear to, dear!!!
What really pissed me off about this documentary was the fact that the only person who did not allow the people making the documentary to come into his private life was the pope. I guess it would have taken away the mystique of his position or something, but I don't buy that.
I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. Falun Dafa (or Falun Gong) is a cultivation system in the Buddha School based on the principles of the Universe: Truth, Compassion, Forbearance. Since 1999 it has been brutally persecuted by the CCP in China.
I think it's interesting the way that most of the spiritual leaders talk about the great positives of religion, whereas the two American Christians talk about how "the world isn't doing what God wants" and how we're constantly in "spiritual warfare"
I think it's terrible that people have to turn to religion to explain the difference between what's good and bad. Surely we are all intelligent enough to know right from wrong without having to have a 'god' explain it to us?????? Can't we just teach our children to live with morality and decent human values without using the threat of heaven or hell????
the twin towers were brought down many people died and many children even became orphans, many became disabled for their whole life. This is truly most unforgivable but let me ask you something is this something that has happened for the first time? even though this is most unjust and unforgivable and many Americans have suffered; what about the Vietnam war and the Nukes that America dropped? What about all the people that died there? American lives are more precious or what? TELL ME.
Well no. Our lives are not more precious then anyone else's life. That is a given.
And yes, the good of religion is that it encourages people to be good.
But it also encourages people to be bad in the name of "God". It speaks of violence and it says things in the bible that under no circumstances should be done.
So... I am still confused as to what your question is. Sorry.
You could say 9/11 was religious in nature, because it was actually orchastrated by theosophical occult secret socities - which many politician belong- high ranking Masons, Skull and Bones. Bohemian Grove and many others work hand in hand to enshrine Satan as leader of this New enlightened World Order.
in any case I don't think so that Osama heard some voices that told him to hit the twin towers as we are told and even though Bush did say that God has told him to invade Iraq.
Osama was a CIA asset up until Sept.11 2001 According to FBI Interpreter and whistle blower Sibel Edmonds. She broke her gag order, issued by the courts to keep this a National Security concern secret.
September 11,2001 was a false flag operation -with evidence staring at our face, This was done to foment a dialectical chaos-conflict to bring about a desired change of history towards a "New World Order" this permitted the framework for building of a surveillance-police state society to police the world against those who would stand against opposition to elite rule. "Either you're with us or you're against us."
This is why, we as a world need to discard religion, it is unecessary and dangerous to others. Religion has caused so much misery. The world must realize that the only reason they believe in any particular religion is because they were taught it. Where you are born and how you are raised and brainwashed is why you believe what you believe. Religion and Peace do not go hand and hand. It has not thus far after all these centuries. People are simply gullible and ignorant to follow others ideas.
Its true that religion has caused a lot of suffering in this world and does continue to do so in different ways. However when you say religion and put all of them on the same level and say well they are all religions and religion = cause of suffering for many humans is not accurate.
I have a question for you, which religion caused the world wars which is one of the most horrible chapters in the history of mankind where people just on the basis of some patch of land were killed in thousands...
please do look at the bright side of religion too which is not far away, with people of different religions helping humanity. All the religions do have similar core values but the problem comes where a group of people try to exploit it for their own benefit and they are successful at times and fail at other times.
Finally I would state that it is true that most of the people believe what they believe just because they were taught so, but there are people that make a conscious decision to follow it or perhaps follow a path that was not thrown at them. There are thus atheists as well that become believers because there are many questions that cannot be answered by being a man of science or anything else since some of the most important questions that we face in life Do Not comein domain of science.
@EternalSSA Hello. I neither agree with you nor dissagree. I am not trying to be unkind or anything of that nature. However I am a strong follower of the Catholic faith. I believe that the catholic faith gives me hope. It gives me a sense of peace. It makes me feel like if I live a good life I will be rewarded for it. Like going to heaven. Religion keeps many people sane also. I don't agree with what Hitler did, I know it was about religion. But it was also about power and control. Much of
@SparklesandThings100 what goes on today is about that kind of thing. These are just my personal beliefs. I do think that we need religion in our world. However somethings that happen are absurd and need to be stopped and prevented one way or another.
@SparklesandThings100 I understand the comfort of religion, I used to be a catholic. Reality doesn't care wether something makes you feel good, reality will keep being reality despite how much time you spend ignoring reality and feeling comfortable within the Catholic faith. People are going to continue to die for religious causes, no matter how hard you try cover your eyes from the truth, reality will not change. The only thing that can change is you, yourself. See the truth and embrace it.
@EternalSSA Wars are never caused solely because of religion. People have their own disputes over land, politics, money, rights, and many other worldly things. Then some choose to justify it with religion, but religion practiced the way it was intended to be practiced is not dangerous. I firmly believe that most religions are founded on love, for the community, for deity, and for humanity. Except, perhaps, satanic religions and things of that nature.
@EternalSSA How arrogent and dull-minded you are my friend. Religion is not what tears the world apart but rather is the only thing that can save it. It is true that certain religions cause conflicts with one another due to belief, but that happens with all subjects and areas of life. If we discard hell would break loose. Lucky for us, the human race is smart enough to never ever share your beliefs.
@lilcapone9525 Too bad science is already taking over. In 50 years, religion will be gone. Humans are becoming smarter and smarter, we're slowly realizing that there is no god. If we discard religion, this world would be such a better place. No more terrorist attacks from crazy extremists.
If religion never existed, the twin towers would still be here today along with 3000 people. And over hundreds of thousands of civilians who got killed in the war on terrorism.
@Yarkzaron Science is taking over? Really? Tell that to the 6 billion religious people in the world. Even if there was no religion people would still be extremists and power hungry. That is human nature. Let me ask you though, if there is no God or anything, why would so many people believe otherwise? Because deep down everyone knows theres something greater than just you and me.
@lilcapone9525 And you tell me, how can so many people believe in God, when he has never shown himself?
Brainwashing, my friend. Everyone is born an atheist, or non religious.
''Everyone knows theres something greater than just you and me'' Indeed. But I'm not going to believe in a 'god' who has never shown any sign of his existence. I believe in there are 'things' greater and smarter than us - aliens.
@Yarkzaron Ok I'll tell you, so many people believe in God because people have this thing called faith. Not brainwashing. Ya know why? Because nobody pushes Christianity on anyone. The Christian and Catholic church believes in bringing others in to the Church and helping them become a religious person, but never forced anyone. As for everyone being born non-religious, that does not even make sense. Everyone is also born a foot long, doesnt mean thats how they should stay.
@lilcapone9525 ''Nobody pushes Christianity on anyone'' Oh, really? teentransport(.)org. I can even give you a link to a story of a teen who got there, and how horrible his experience were.
@Yarkzaron You didn't answer me. I asked you to give me an example of how the Bible is "stupid and unintelligent". As for what you said, I don't understand. What did the kid do, where did he go, why was his experience bad, and how does it have to do with Christianity not being pushed on anyone?
@Yarkzaron As humans grow older, their brains become smarter. I don't believe you have reached that point yet. And finally the God you won't believe in has shown alot of proof he exists. There is this thing called the Holy Bible, there are saints, there are miracles, and the best sign of His existence is the universe. You think it all just appeared from an explosion? What caused that? I clearly makes sense that only a Superior being (God) could have made something this beautiful.
The Bible. Everything written in that book is so fucking stupid and unintelligent. If you say God wrote that book, then I'm never ever going to CONSIDER his existence.
Saints? .......
Miracles. Right decisions and luck can create 'miracles' my friend.
The Universe. The big bang is still a theory, son. We will most likely never know if it's true or not.
Just because we don't know how the Universe exists, doesn't mean it's God's creation.
@Yarkzaron First off, dont call me son. I would never ever have a father as stupid and dull-minded as you. Ok, The Holy Bible. No, God did not write that book. The disciples of Jesus wrote that book based off of what he did and said. Give me an example of how it is "stupid and unintelligent"? It was 2000 years ago need I remind you. Many Saints were martyrs. I must ask, how could anyone be tortured alive for something that "doesnt exist", according to you. Miracles sometimes have nothing to do
@Yarkzaron with human interaction or decisions. As for the Universe, you are right. We may never truly know how it was started physically. What I'm saying is how could that just appear out of nowhere without some type of being creating it? Nothing just appears, it is not possible in our realm of existence.
no brother, its you whos arrogant and dull minded, to believe a false religion, a false god, its just so obvious, its bullshit...plain and simple, if your to ignorant to realize its just a passed down tradition so ingrained in our past, then so be it, we dull minded people will build rockets, travel space, and get closer to the real answer than made up stories that seem to explain everything and that after death there is no end.
@masterchiefer123 If it's so obvious then why does most of the world believe otherwise? If the human race is smart enough to build rockets and travel to outer space, why hasn't everyone realized that all religion is fake. Because people aren't ignorant morons like yourself, who think you know everything. If it's all BS, then why would the so called disciples of Jesus Christ be killed for there belief? Do you believe anything that much where you would be tortured? Probably not, huh?
Life is short, and we should live it to the fullest we can, we shouldn't have to follow any religon to get into a 'paradise' if there is one, if Im a good person, which I am, and I do not believe in God, that does not mean I should get into hell, and if it does mean i will get into hell for simply not beliving in God then "God" is cruel.
Believe it or not, there are people who actually feels that they do live their lives to the fullest by really committing into religion. I don't think that to be living life to the fullest has to be absolutely exclusive from religion. I do have a question for you though, you said you are a good person but that seems rather vague. What is the definition of "good"? Shouldn't words like good or bad be comparative adjectives? You can only be "good" when compared to someone else?
Very true.. but. I guess I'm good in the sense that I do not kill or harm others, and when I do I apolligize to make up for it... That is my definition of Good, not harming others.
oh brother I have a question to ask. There are people here in the world that take little children and on purpose molest them and leave them completely shattered for the rest of their life, kill other people and take their property on purpose and even start wars on purpose for their own benefits. I want to be a good person so I love them and tell them in sweet words that he should stop even though I have the power to stop him. Is this the goodness that you talk about? Did you get my question?
The goodness that you are talking about is not the thing that shall set all things right.
what do I mean? See mainly being moral is about being gracious forgiving e.t.c
But by being Good and Gracious e.t.c I shall have to let these people go on and not impede on their freedom or perhaps just limit their freedom by putting them behind bars when he has done all that he wants. Is the goodness that you are talking about?
You pepole have no clue. the Lord is coming thts a fact!! The only reason we hv so many diffrent ideas is because the devil. and if you dont beleve in him your a sitting duck.
Oh really? hes not? Oh ok i guess i was wrong. Your the BIGGEST FOOL ever!! lol. HATER dats all you is a HUGE HATER. What do you STAND for?? probably NADA!! DUCK!
hahahahaha your arrogance is profound even though you have no proof! lol. I stand for reason, logic and evidence which is three things which your faith has none of. hahahaha you pussy. get a clue you mug.
this is the only life we have and that we should enjoy it as best we can with all of the other living creatures on this earth because there is no life after death. So you can carry on your life like there will be some other life after this one because a 2000 year old book called the bible says if you believe you will be saved, (which has had 30,000 different versions since it's release.) if that type of religious brainwashing is good enough for you because you fear death and what it brings...
Do you believe in God becuase of the bible? Do you realize that there are 12 major religions? How do you know that yours is right what so ever? And he isnt hating at all. You are just being overly rude.
there is and can Only be One God, One creator. The thing where people say "Oh this is my God that is your God pray to him not mine" e.t.c appears just stupid to me. It seems that a fundamental principle of religion has been lost in this argument.
@TopazticKrystal Its called FAITH my Mocking friend. faith by Evidence of the "Lord tells us these things b4 they happend for when they do happend that we shall know that he is the Lord" Revelations, and Daniel the books of prophecies, ive done my homework have YOU?? or are have you been HYPNOTISED by T.V. Only you know how much T.V. you c and how much time you spend SEARCHING TRUTH in the WORD. And your comments dont mean anything dont complain to me take it to THE LORD. cuz im in the same boat
Your God has a book riddled with flaws that I would not expect from a perfect being. For instance, take Psalm 14:1, which claims that a man who does not believe in God is wholly incapable of doing any good whatsoever. Or what about Ezekiel 18:20 contrasted with the killings of the firstborn in Exodus by God? This isn't exactly making for good "evidence" in favor of your God.
"Oh ye of little faith." Psalm 14:1 is right on point, cause it does not matter how many "good deeds" you do if your motivation is not Christ or God behind them, than your deeds aint worth NADA. All i c is nitpicking, taking everything out of context, tipycal REBEL, you dont want to beleive fine, thats ur choice but dont be posting msgs on my sheet cuz i wasent talking to you. DUFIS Aint no NED FLANDERS in here bra, NEW BREED. With the "spirit of Elijah" get some FOOL 4 only you would say no God
Actually, Psalm 14:1 is saying that a man who does not believe in God is incapable of good deeds at all, not that any good deeds he does are worthless. If you actually read Ezekiel 18:20, you would notice that it is completely in context, though you may not have liked the uncomfortable feeling you got from comparing it to your God's actions in Exodus and wondering why your God's words seem to contradict his actions. There's nothing new about Christian self-righteousness, and I'm not your bra :P
No, it actually IS the religions that are evil and the people that can be good in spite of their religion. Have a quick read of the Bible or the Quran and you'll see tons of unnecessary bloodshed and commands from their respective gods to destroy those that do not believe like they do.
No disagreement there. But, the holy books have both been solidified for centuries and really are an entity all of their own and it is these entities which are evil; they are evil ideologies just as Nazism is an evil ideology.
Sure, ultimately the responsibility comes down to the writers of those books, but that doesn't mean that their creation cannot be labeled evil as well.
Why do you single out those two? How is - for example - Christianity any better? It's based on the same books as Judaism, so the majority of it is identical to Judaism, same teachings and God.
WYH, I wonder, do they not have someone to balance the argument?
The Dali Lama would have an interesting view, as would the Arch Bishop, but what the program really needs is a rationalist like Sam Harris or at least a Middle-East historian.
"Where was god?" Surely the answer should be obvious to anyone.
Can anyone upload the credits at the end of the Naudet brother's 9/11 documentry - when Danny Boy is played over images of the lost firemen? RIP Thanks in advance!
Fact: Dalai/ Kalu lama keeps sex slaves and made drums out of human skin of tortured souls and performs cannibalism. works undercover with the CIA as a puppet to divide people and nation
Google:JSTOR: Tibetan Drum and Trumpet
Google: June Campbell
youtube: The War on Democracy-John Pilger
Youtube: The CIA in Tibet 2
For years, June Campbell was the`consort`of a senior Tibetan Buddhist monk. She was threatened with death if she broke her vow of secrecy. But then enlightenment can be like that.
The CIA is more fucked up than any of us really know.Look up Jeffery Chelton or warrior1777.He can explain his story. Also, the changeling movie is based on a true story.Look that one up too.The whole govt. is fucked up.We are nothing but sheep being led to the slaughter if we keep believing every little thing they say.
Does anyone know the name of the song that starts playing at 5:20? I tried searching the songs listed but either couldn't find them or they were not the song i was looking for.
My apologies. Someone sent me a message requesting the music information and now is when i finally had a chance to respond. Here is the music information, in sequence as it appears in the end:
If you happened to miss the documentary, which I happen to see that some of you have, just go to the CBS website and look under shows and you should see the link to it on the right. Anyways, you can watch the whole documentary there if you want.
I see, thank you. At first I did not see the "Video" option on the In God's Name sub-page. I only saw the one at the top (for the entire NBC website). I've found it now, thank you.
Can someone please tell me if that's Lisa Gerrard singing with the violin solo that's featured in this video? I know Lisa's "Sacrifice" was used in the "9/11" documentary created by these same brothers. Thank you!
i just posted a list of the music credits. i don't know if this is what you need but a credit did mention: Thou Oh Lord by Lisa Ireland Harrison Songs.
The butt-holes at CBS didn't run the show when they said they would, due to them thinking sports is more important than saving mankind from the superstitious among us.
Where can I see the last half-hour that TiVo did not catch?
I am so glad I watched and taped this show. I have watched it about 2-3 times already. So profound. It touched me in so many ways. I am looking to see if they put it on sale. Would definitely like to pass it on to friends and family.
I loved this documentary! It was so intelligently thought out and filmed. By doing this, you could really see that despite different beliefs, the core of every religion is basically the same. And, the character and demeanor of all these religious leaders were one.
Oh, and thank you CBS, and thank you borthers Jules and Gedeon Naudet, what a great idea of talking to all those spiritual leaders, thank God there was a women amongst all the male dominant clergy.
I just saw the documentary now, it was so good, it gave a clear view of the nature of religions, they all work against evil and unite in their goal to achieve goodness. The question is: why can't they control their followers?
I was a little apprehensive about watching this but the more I watched the more intrigued I became. The documentary was very thought-provoking and the ending with planet Earth in the background and the one gentleman saying "Humanity is what unites us" was just epic. I hope they put a re-run as I only caught the last half of this documentary. - Ali
Just saw this.. it was so honest and yet so hopeful. I hope that this documentary gets people to dialogue openly about faith and religion. I was impressed to see that all faiths shared a common meal together-what a great symbol of how we are to exist in spite our clear theological distinctions.
Yes, I'm so glad that for over 500 years the Sikh tradition of "Langar" which means community kitchen allows people regardless of their religious background, race, gender, social hierarchy to sit and share a meal together. This was shown beautifully in the documentary as all Gurdwaras (Sikh Temples) across the world have Langars 24 hours a day for all.
I was just watching this and during the first interviews there was an amazing piece playing in the background. It was a violin solo and I don't know what it was. Can anybody help?
I can't wait to see this the preview is spell binding. CBS picked a good time to do this as it is a season of hope. And I hope it lives up to the hype..
Interesting. I will watch this documentary in hopes to see what the religious leaders say about their religion so I may compare what they say about their religion to what their religion actually does. I can only dream of the discrepancies that awaits me.
You miss the point entirely. As the Naudet brothers themselves have commented, the "leaders" portrayed in the film are not meant to be representatives of the espoused or practiced "theology" of their respective traditions-they are portrayed so that you, the viewer, might have better access to, and a better understanding of, the personal faiths of such prominent individuals. Please be respectful of the artistic intent of the film when viewing it!

This is just a preview, and still it had me in tears after 2 minutes. I can't wait to see this documentary. Hopefully it will shed some light on it all, and bring us together rather than further apart.
Yes the film looks very interesting. Cant wait to see it. One of the 12 spiritual leaders happens to be a SIKH but Sikh or Sikhism is not linked in the tags provided by CBS. I just wrote a letter to them, hopefully they can make the change. Sikhism is a distinct religion, ppl confuse it with Islam or Hinduism. Im sure it was the same mistake made by the CBS team. The guy in tge blue turban with a bear is a Sikh not Muslim as some might think.
Im sorry..."with a beard.." *typo*. So many ppl confuse us with Muslim on a daily basis. We have been getting harassed, abused, one person even shot dead bcoz we give an impression of a muslim. By wearing a beard and turban. Not that any innocent muslim should go through such abuse based on religion. This film will be an eye opener for those who have never heard of Sikhism. Thanks to CBS for the production.
I thank CBS for detailing such a documentary which will hopefully bring people of all faiths together as children of God. Yes, Sikhism is a distinct religion practiced by over 25 millions people world-wide. Sikhs are the most visual people in appearance with their long beards and colorful turbans, and I applause CBS for its continued effort in strong newscasting and amazing documentaries.
The Preview looks amazing. We all should appreciate such attempts in bringing together people of various faiths. In their daily prayer, Sikhs ask for everyone's blessing from God despite their religious background. I hope CBS will continue such work and other news stations will also walk in such steps.
Wow. This looks compelling. Looking forward to hear some of the Sikh parts, as I don't know enough about that faith. It'll be great to see how all faiths are represented--it seems that all of these religions are good at the core.
Very cool idea. Regaurdless of your preferences. This question was probably asked by you, in anger or in fear. Nevertheless... It should be cool to see the Parallels and Differences in the faiths.
Sane people need to stop tolerating delusional fucks and their made up goddies. Ridiculous bullshit deserves.......ridicule.

No following of the original christian rules, like do unto others what you would won't others to do unto you..well what would they do to a gay person given the chance..etc..evolution is a joke..7 days..the earth 10 000 years old ..pleaseee..childish really
jonnyrisas 1 year ago
@jonnyrisas The Qur'an is scientifically correct. If your issue with religion is the ludicrous claim that the earth is 10,000 years old, you may want to look into religious texts other than the Bible. There are many different religions out there, you know. Don't judge every religion based on only one of them.
Sarasince1992 9 months ago

@mysticresistence Nobody ever got killed in the name of atheism, the Hitler thing is the weakest argument on earth, Hitler was a Roman Catholic and he wrote in his book that "He was chosen by god to rid the earth of Jews" If most people had your philosophy, we'd be sleeping in caves and wondering if the earth is flat or not.
alexandreleverrier 1 year ago
@alexandreleverrier No, Hitler was not an Atheist & I am not saying that or mentioning Hitler. I just ask that you look up "The Cult of Reason". They were a radical Atheist group during the French Revolution that massacred over 10,000 people in just 6 months for refusing to renounce religion & become Atheists & were determined to wipe out religion & create a "Rational, science based society". Don't believe me, just look it up.
mysticresistence 1 year ago
@mysticresistence The context of the French revolution is very different, actually Robespierre created is own religion so it wasn't in the name of atheism or reason, during that short time people were attacking Christianity because of what it stand for, power and government. Robespierre didn't believe in atheism, he knew that a cult was necessary to control people. If you come to France one day, right were La Bastille used to be, there's a statue that represents the goddess of liberty.
alexandreleverrier 1 year ago
@alexandreleverrier No, I am not talking about Robespierre who was a deist, I am talking about a different faction entirely who were called, again, "The Cult of Reason". They fought against Robespierre as they believed that even Deism wasn't far enough & fought for a world devoid of all religion & replaced with Reason & the sciences & to that end they killed peasants who refused to denounce religion & massacred a total of 10,000, all in the name of creating a "rational, atheistic society"

TELL ME.
MatrixOfDynamism 2 years ago
Sorry.

Lucky for us, the human race is smart enough to never ever share your beliefs.
lilcapone9525 8 months ago
@lilcapone9525 Too bad science is already taking over. In 50 years, religion will be gone. Humans are becoming smarter and smarter, we're slowly realizing that there is no god. If we discard religion, this world would be such a better place. No more terrorist attacks from crazy extremists.
If religion never existed, the twin towers would still be here today along with 3000 people. And over hundreds of thousands of civilians who got killed in the war on terrorism.
Yarkzaron 7 months ago
@Yarkzaron Science is taking over? Really? Tell that to the 6 billion religious people in the world. Even if there was no religion people would still be extremists and power hungry. That is human nature. Let me ask you though, if there is no God or anything, why would so many people believe otherwise? Because deep down everyone knows theres something greater than just you and me.
lilcapone9525 5 months ago
@lilcapone9525 And you tell me, how can so many people believe in God, when he has never shown himself?
Brainwashing, my friend. Everyone is born an atheist, or non religious.
''Everyone knows theres something greater than just you and me'' Indeed. But I'm not going to believe in a 'god' who has never shown any sign of his existence. I believe in there are 'things' greater and smarter than us - aliens.
Yarkzaron 5 months ago
@Yarkzaron Ok I'll tell you, so many people believe in God because people have this thing called faith. Not brainwashing. Ya know why? Because nobody pushes Christianity on anyone. The Christian and Catholic church believes in bringing others in to the Church and helping them become a religious person, but never forced anyone. As for everyone being born non-religious, that does not even make sense. Everyone is also born a foot long, doesnt mean thats how they should stay.
lilcapone9525 5 months ago
@lilcapone9525 ''Nobody pushes Christianity on anyone'' Oh, really? teentransport(.)org. I can even give you a link to a story of a teen who got there, and how horrible his experience were.
Yarkzaron 5 months ago
@Yarkzaron You didn't answer me. I asked you to give me an example of how the Bible is "stupid and unintelligent". As for what you said, I don't understand. What did the kid do, where did he go, why was his experience bad, and how does it have to do with Christianity not being pushed on anyone?
lilcapone9525 5 months ago
@Yarkzaron As humans grow older, their brains become smarter. I don't believe you have reached that point yet. And finally the God you won't believe in has shown alot of proof he exists. There is this thing called the Holy Bible, there are saints, there are miracles, and the best sign of His existence is the universe. You think it all just appeared from an explosion? What caused that? I clearly makes sense that only a Superior being (God) could have made something this beautiful.
lilcapone9525 5 months ago
@lilcapone9525 Oh my god. Not this again..
Yarkzaron 5 months ago
@Yarkzaron First off, dont call me son. I would never ever have a father as stupid and dull-minded as you. Ok, The Holy Bible. No, God did not write that book. The disciples of Jesus wrote that book based off of what he did and said. Give me an example of how it is "stupid and unintelligent"? It was 2000 years ago need I remind you. Many Saints were martyrs. I must ask, how could anyone be tortured alive for something that "doesnt exist", according to you. Miracles sometimes have nothing to do
lilcapone9525 5 months ago
@Yarkzaron with human interaction or decisions. As for the Universe, you are right. We may never truly know how it was started physically. What I'm saying is how could that just appear out of nowhere without some type of being creating it? Nothing just appears, it is not possible in our realm of existence.

no brother, its you whos arrogant and dull minded, to believe a false religion, a false god, its just so obvious, its bullshit...plain and simple, if your to ignorant to realize its just a passed down tradition so ingrained in our past, then so be it, we dull minded people will build rockets, travel space, and get closer to the real answer than made up stories that seem to explain everything and that after death there is no end.
masterchiefer123 5 months ago
@masterchiefer123 If it's so obvious then why does most of the world believe otherwise? If the human race is smart enough to build rockets and travel to outer space, why hasn't everyone realized that all religion is fake.

Your God has a book riddled with flaws that I would not expect from a perfect being. For instance, take Psalm 14:1, which claims that a man who does not believe in God is wholly incapable of doing any good whatsoever. Or what about Ezekiel 18:20 contrasted with the killings of the firstborn in Exodus by God? This isn't exactly making for good "evidence" in favor of your God.
Bloodninjapirate 1 year ago
"Oh ye of little faith." Psalm 14:1 is right on point, cause it does not matter how many "good deeds" you do if your motivation is not Christ or God behind them, than your deeds aint worth NADA. DUFIS Aint no NED FLANDERS in here bra, NEW BREED. With the "spirit of Elijah" get some FOOL 4 only you would say no God
soldierofdLord7 1 year ago
Actually, Psalm 14:1 is saying that a man who does not believe in God is incapable of good deeds at all, not that any good deeds he does are worthless. If you actually read Ezekiel 18:20, you would notice that it is completely in context, though you may not have liked the uncomfortable feeling you got from comparing it to your God's actions in Exodus and wondering why your God's words seem to contradict his actions. There's nothing new about Christian self-righteousness, and I'm not your bra :P

No, it actually IS the religions that are evil and the people that can be good in spite of their religion. Have a quick read of the Bible or the Quran and you'll see tons of unnecessary bloodshed and commands from their respective gods to destroy those that do not believe like they do.
califoniania 3 years ago
But it was the people who made the religion.
People wrote the Bible and the Quran.
PhoenixFirewolf 3 years ago
No disagreement there. But, the holy books have both been solidified for centuries and really are an entity all of their own and it is these entities which are evil; they are evil ideologies just as Nazism is an evil ideology.
Sure, ultimately the responsibility comes down to the writers of those books, but that doesn't mean that their creation cannot be labeled evil as well.
califoniania 3 years ago
no, the religions are because people do what is written in the books of that faith.

If you happened to miss the documentary, which I happen to see that some of you have, just go to the CBS website and look under shows and you should see the link to it on the right. Anyways, you can watch the whole documentary there if you want.
SupaNova455 4 years ago
As far as I can tell, there's no way to watch the entire documentary on the site.
After one reaches the In God's Name sub-page, what must one do?
NightingaleSong 4 years ago
you just simply go to video and it starts to play. Though it says four parts of the movie, it's actually seven parts. It continues after the 4th one
SupaNova455 4 years ago
I see, thank you. At first I did not see the "Video" option on the In God's Name sub-page. I only saw the one at the top (for the entire NBC website). I've found it now, thank you.

Can someone please tell me if that's Lisa Gerrard singing with the violin solo that's featured in this video? I know Lisa's "Sacrifice" was used in the "9/11" documentary created by these same brothers. Thank you!

"Unless there's thunder people don't make the sign of the cross"
My favorite quote from the documentary.

My dear christian brother. You quote the Master Jesus but you don't have any idea what this means.
Jesus understood his own divinity. He was always teaching. To know that you are the Way, the Truth, and the life is to be Christ.

The question is: why can't they control their followers?
monamatti 4 years ago
I was a little apprehensive about watching this but the more I watched the more intrigued I became. The documentary was very thought-provoking and the ending with planet Earth in the background and the one gentleman saying "Humanity is what unites us" was just epic. I hope they put a re-run as I only caught the last half of this documentary. - Ali

Just saw this.. it was so honest and yet so hopeful. I hope that this documentary gets people to dialogue openly about faith and religion. I was impressed to see that all faiths shared a common meal together-what a great symbol of how we are to exist in spite our clear theological distinctions.
Osmun79 4 years ago
Yes, I'm so glad that for over 500 years the Sikh tradition of "Langar" which means community kitchen allows people regardless of their religious background, race, gender, social hierarchy to sit and share a meal together. This was shown beautifully in the documentary as all Gurdwaras (Sikh Temples) across the world have Langars 24 hours a day for all.
God bless us all!

I was just watching this and during the first interviews there was an amazing piece playing in the background. It was a violin solo and I don't know what it was. Can anybody help?

I can't wait to see this the preview is spell binding. CBS picked a good time to do this as it is a season of hope. And I hope it lives up to the hype..
ctfun2563 4 years ago

That machine gun toward the end was the kind that makes peace.
apocalypsynch 4 years ago
Yes the film looks very interesting. Cant wait to see it. One of the 12 spiritual leaders happens to be a SIKH but Sikh or Sikhism is not linked in the tags provided by CBS. I just wrote a letter to them, hopefully they can make the change. Sikhism is a distinct religion, ppl confuse it with Islam or Hinduism. Im sure it was the same mistake made by the CBS team. The guy in tge blue turban with a bear is a Sikh not Muslim as some might think.
jammnjigga123 4 years ago 4
Im sorry..."with a beard.." *typo*. So many ppl confuse us with Muslim on a daily basis. We have been getting harassed, abused, one person even shot dead bcoz we give an impression of a muslim. By wearing a beard and turban. Not that any innocent muslim should go through such abuse based on religion. This film will be an eye opener for those who have never heard of Sikhism. Thanks to CBS for the production.
jammnjigga123 4 years ago 3
I thank CBS for detailing such a documentary which will hopefully bring people of all faiths together as children of God. Yes, Sikhism is a distinct religion practiced by over 25 millions people world-wide. Sikhs are the most visual people in appearance with their long beards and colorful turbans, and I applause CBS for its continued effort in strong newscasting and amazing documentaries.
deconstructingindia 4 years ago 3
The Preview looks amazing. We all should appreciate such attempts in bringing together people of various faiths. In their daily prayer, Sikhs ask for everyone's blessing from God despite their religious background. I hope CBS will continue such work and other news stations will also walk in such steps.
khalsadaraj 4 years ago 2
Wow. This looks compelling. Looking forward to hear some of the Sikh parts, as I don't know enough about that faith. It'll be great to see how all faiths are represented--it seems that all of these religions are good at the core.
aerodyno 4 years ago 4
Yes, aerodyno, many people are unaware of the Sikh religion despite being the youngest yet the fifth largest of the World religions.
May God bless us all!

Very cool idea. Regaurdless of your preferences. This question was probably asked by you, in anger or in fear. Nevertheless... It should be cool to see the Parallels and Differences in the faiths.
