  • Very pleasurable listen, and a few surprising sounds! They work well. I absolutely love the tinkling piano with a hint of an echo!!

  • @75capriceconvertible Thanks! It's especially poignant now that I know B. L. Ralton died in 1926 during an African safari when one of his party accidentally killed him! He missed so much more good music!

  • BL Ralton went off to South Africa 1926 to hunt and shoot animals and one of his team shot him by mistake and it proved fatal

  • @davidglow3 Good grief, how horrible! He died at the height of everything!

  • Very nice tune! I like the smooth flow of it.

  • @althazarr Thanks! I think this is a superb arrangement too!

  • Wow! this is really different , I love the introduction and the ornamented arrengement.

  • @rordorica Thanks! I'll admit it is a different type of tune! Glad you liked it!

  • Great one! I think you're right about 1924 for it ! perfec little introduction ! Very pretty good record and many great solo ! Thanks !

  • @lepaysandu Thanks! And "yes" on all counts!

  • I think these Savoy records sort of fit in perfect on your player and collection.Would a lot of these early titles be U.S songs? I played a few the other day,I'VE NEVER SEEN A STRAIGHT BANNANA" is a really good version, don't know if its on the youtube.

  • @longpast78 I have to be careful ,i keep the Percival Mackey, and Debroy Somers (also at the Savoy) all together in a box,it may be one of them.

  • @longpast78 I've found I like the arrangements of all those bands. While not jazz, that is fine with me because the European orchestras seem to do the 20's better even than the US ones!

  • @longpast78 Thanks! Well for instance, I've never heard of this side, but the other side, My Sweetie Went Away, is very familiar and recorded on several labels here. I'm surprised that I've Never Seen a Straight Banana has never been recorded because it was one of my first Warings Pennsylvanians, which doesn't mean anything, but I don't think it's especially rare. I think the Six Jumping Jacks made it, too. If they didn't, they should have!

  • @VictrolaJazz Thanks,i agree the European records are good,it just seems at times ,when i discover a new title ,there is a U.S version already on youtube.I dare say it can give a false impression sometimes.
