I hear the licensed 1 sucks shmety goat balls and the United Cutlery Gil Hibben IV Machete is bad ass but does any 1 know if the United Cutlery Gil Hibben IV Machete is better or worse then the kbar cutlass machete?
so i just got the hibben version and i noticed my sheath didnt have the "button". Not that big a deal but was just curious as to why. did i get a flawed sheath or what? what purpose does the button serve anyway?
@rdblief The button serves no purpose, really. It's only there because, in the film, Rambo supposedly modified the sheath from the Rambo III knife to holster his new one.
it dont matter to me if its screen accurate i love the blade shape thats all i really care about as far as looks go,but as long as they useable i will have no problem buying one,i am thinking about getting the GIL HIBBEN version more but not cause its more accurate it just dont have RAMBO on it to mess up that the only reason i want the HIBBEN version more, but they both look BADASS!!!.....LATER!!!
i Love my Rambo machete! It's a beast and a half! I Have a few videos on this knife ( the Hibben IV mistakes (they screwed up the paint or some shit) Only paid $18 =)
I really don't care if this knife is "screen accurate" or Gil HIbbens' original design, I want a knife that I can use, obviously the HIbben IV is much cheaper and probably the smart thing to buy, but I am willing to put out the extra money for the "MC", I think it looks better and you said it was fairly sharp, without any bias would you tell me if the "MC" version would be capable of using in the woods?
I like the video, its a good reference point for someone that doesn't know which one to buy.
@TheSherminator64 - The MC is definitely capable to use in the woods, but so is the Hibben. Both knives would be of good use. If you were to ask me which knife I'd rather carry into the woods, it'd still be the Hibben because it's better made and would be better for chopping (in my opinion) because it's a bit heavier. It's the better knife of the two and is cheaper in price but better made than the MC, in my opinon. Since I'm a collector, I won't be using either. I may buy another for "testing"
I decided to go for the Hibben IV. Apparently there are two versions of this out there. One that is 6mm thick and another that is 9mm thick. I got hold of the fat bastard :)
Great vid good thing I was buying the hibben iv anyway I just couldn't get why you would pay an extra 100 bucks just for Rambo licensing if your a real knife nut it wouldn't matter because I fully intend to put this blade through the gauntlet
@enjoiorange As far as paying extra dough for licensing is concerned,I bought the MC Rambo IV just to complete my Rambo collection. Haha. No other reason to get it, really. Haha.
In the two years I've owned them, I haven't used either knife; they're strictly collectibles. Although, I am considering getting another Hibben IV to actually use since they're so inexpensive now. ($39.99 at Budk.com) That thing is a beast; you can't really appreciate it until you're holding it
