  • @mrMangataot

I guess it looks like that because the textroll is a bit to fast here and there.

I'm still a beginner though, it's possible my teacher has a different background then you. As far as I understand there are quite some different aproaches in India concerning this matter..

    Namaste

  • some of the notated stuff is wrong.. there are dins where there should be tins. First half of a palta should end with 'tin na'. It's easy to mishear as the difference is quite difficult to pick up when it's spoken.

  • @londoniran: for me it's also confusing.

As far as i understand on the 1st beat. To my ears though it sounds often like the 2th beat.

Man, these Indian guys are so advanced with their ritmical skills that they easily "stretch" a

four bar lick over three or five bars.

Since i' m still a beginner in this amazing Indian ritm science you have to ask an advanced tabla master on this item.

    Have fun!

  • on what number or beat do i start that qawali- man kunto maula.

so on which beat -man - please?

  • Thank you... I'm learning Kathak and I'm looking for some videos of basics of tabla... that kayda is not the one I learned but have the same structure... with the tijai at the end... finally, it seems like I'm learning... good look with the tabla!

  • Great you wrote on screen to thats a big help. Excellent!

  • Please can you explain what's the logic of the variations you are playing? Or is it alleatory? I'm trying to learn tabla by myself, so please give me a hand.

  • My Teacher Tukaramji is showing the basic "bols" in tal teental. There is a certain logic in the variations he plays.

The first half of a serie is with "Dha" and "Din" followed by the second half where "Dha" is replaced by "Ta" and "Din" is replaced by "Tin".

If you studie the bols that show up in the video you will see the structure I'v tried to discribe in words.

    Have fun
