  • STANDS UP AND CLAPS BECAUSE THIS WAS PERFECT have you thought of going into the film business

  • Wow, this was really beautiful. Well done. <3

  • No words to describe this Brilliantness (don't care that it's not a word)

Also now I have to re-read hamlet but in my head it will be Tennants voice <3

  • There's the respect that makes calamity of so long life... I never realised how much that monologue fits the Doctor. Brilliant.

  • AMAZING! Just watched this movie today! :) I loved it! :) David was just sensational!

  • totally downloading Hamlet with Tennant tonight now :)

  • I have to tell you, because of you, when i think the second half of the Ten era episodes, I think of Hamlet thanks to you. :) Because honestly, this monologue fits him so well.

  • This is too amazing/brilliant for words.

  • Long live 10!!!! Amazing video:)

  • What is the song? where do you get it?

  • That was FANTASTIC! Saw the play at Stratford which was great and, to agree with a previous commentor, Hamlet and the 10th Doctor do have a great many similarities. Love the clips you used to emphasise each line - good choices. Have made this vid a favourite. :)

  • That was beautifully done! I never noticed how amazingly well 10 and Hamlet fit together.

  • I love how hamlet can relate to the doctor.

  • did you know that roger delgado was also a shakespearean actor? he was the first master, for those of you too lazy to google it. he's very funny. of course, tennant is <3 and also an amazing actor.

i'm even trying to memorize hamlet's soliloquoy, purely because of david.

  • This broke my heart beautifully.

  • this is amazing I can't I just can't there are no words my brain my heart fire of my loins I CAN'T

  • très bon montage

  • that's the most awesome thing I ever seen. great editing. great vid xxx

  • Would you mind telling me the songs title? i think it has something to do with the bad wolf theme but i cant find anything similar...

    Thank you for your attention...

  • i think he need to open the watch i prefer him as the doctor than Hamlet #LOL

  • Oh my God, that was sooooooo freaking awesome!!!! David Tennant's a sexy beast as is, but put him in there as both the Doctor //and// Hamlet!!!! That's a heart attack and a nosebleed waiting to happen!!!

  • recently saw DT as Hamlet (yay for my local library) and thought the performance brilliant. but to put this famous bunch of lines together with DW.... wow. how oddly well they fit. the Doctor would be proud, i think ^_^ and thats about the highest praise one can get from me hehe immediately faved

  • @CassandraMotou Considering the fact he thought Shakespeare was "Brilliant" and a Genius I would say the Doctor would be proud.

  • @wannabedesi how true ^_^

  • This video is amazing, I just love how the speach does actually tie in with the Tenth Doctor for most part :) keep up the good work :)

  • It's truly amazing how well this works for the end of Tenant. Thank you for making it!

  • neat

  • This was amazing! I love you!

  • I am soooo putting this on my mp3. Its soothing but gives you strong emotions just to hug him :D

  • That was beautiful. The speech worked wonderfully with Doctor Who. =)

  • brilliant absolutely brilliant and the words really spoke to me as if i felt like i felt like david was performing right in front of me! would love to hear more

  • Wonderful idea! Parts of that soliloquy work so well with 10's last moments. How lucky we were as Who fans to have such a fantastic actor play the Doctor.

  • Wish David was still on Doctor who, but moreover I wish I could FEEL the soul he put in those moments on the show when he would drop his gaurd, that I just don't see Matt doing yet. But I'll follow David and hope "Who" gets it's SOUL back.....what dreams may come....

  • Man this is so cool! I never thought that DW and Hamlet could go together

  • I loved this, but I second the point someone else made about the music drowning out the words once we get beyond 'perchance to dream'.

  • Amazing! I'd love to see vids like this made to some of the other Hamlet speeches too.

  • I understand his speech now! Hamlet's that is. More like I feel I understand Shakespere in general, thanks to David's acting and actually listening to the speak. I can follow the stories.

  • OMG!!!!!!! Thiis is JUST STUNNING! I've just fallen in love with the Doctor all over again. The Doctor is so like Hamlet and it was a total privilage to see DT in the role live on stage.

  • Bravo. Now off to rediscover my love of Shakespeare...

  • ... :,( I miss you David Tennant!

Truly an exceptional portrayal of Dr Who.

Just a downright exceptional actor who set the bar very high for Matt Smith... *Cries*

  • Fantastic job!!! :D :D I lobe Ten! :)

  • Wow! This is so well done.

  • Beautiful. Just beautiful.

  • AMAZING!! This was EPIC :)

  • Wow, nicely done

  • That was absolutely fantastic! Definitely one of the best 10th doctor tributes I have seen!

  • OOOH!!! I got chills! Fantastically done!

  • Incredible and very clever. Well done!

  • As an English major, Shakespeare loving, Doctor Who obsessed geek this pretty much just made my life. Beautiful job!

  • Brilliant! Beautifully edited!

The Doctor has always reminded me quite strongly of Hamlet, particularly in Ten's final story; the the clever, tortured, lonely hero haunted by his past. Pushed to kill his own kind but procrastinates so long that events unfold to cause his own death.

ALSO, Ood Sigma's "The universe shall sing you to your sleep" is pretty similar to Horatio's "Flights of angels sing thee to thy rest".

Anyone else think the same or am I crazy?

  • @TornLoveNotes I agree, but to be honest, I'd pefer the ood to the enormous numbers of evil angels doctor who has...

  • I love hamlet. and its suprising how well it fits davids time on doctor who! maybe he planned it that way? lol

  • Tennant is absolutely stunning in this role. Marvelous. Thou hast me in thy debt, Mr. Tennant.

And this is some really wonderfully beautiful editing. Thank you!

  • THIS my dear, is some fantastic editing! Seriously, 5 stars (If I could give it more then I would!)

May I ask what software you used?

Srsly, well done. This is fantastic :O

    xxxx

  • Omg I hate not living in the UK. I can't see David as Hamlet! Ugg. They need to put this on dvd so I can get it!

  • @McDreamyloverforever Never fear! It's coming on DVD soon! Check out amazon and you can pre-order. I think it comes out next week or so...

  • I think this video is awesome, especially the beginning. The music suits it really well, bu I think it could be a bit quieter in the middle... I know you have the words up but I couldn't hear them on the actual video XD

  • oh. my. god. that was soo brilliant! and it's a perfect match between hamlet and doctor who!? I never thought about it until now! perfect!

  • ZOMG! That was Amazing!

Congrats on such a well presented video!

    fv

  • That gave me goosebumps. Well done.

  • That.......was AMAZING!!!

    WOW!

  • You made me cry. Well done! *sniffles*

  • Brilliant. Brilliant. Wow.

  • You are a genius.

  • I really wanted to do a rant on how incredibly beautiful this video was but I'm at a loss for words now......I can't explain how that made me feel.

  • Omg that was simply the most heart wrenching thing to watch. *clap* Love it.

    <3

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • Oh my god this is amazing. Utterly brillient and very emotional.

  • It's gorgeous, really. And moving. I loved it, thank you so much.

  • This video= amazing!

Makes me so sad DT is gone!

    Good job!

    <3

  • Simply brilliant. Simple but effektive editing. Right amount of who-clips. Music fits, though at some parts it is just a little bit too loud...but thats just good meant critisism. Its really fabulous, you captured the essence of the monologue, and of the 10th doctor. *thumbs up*

Love Hamlet, who and Tennant. I'm so gonna watch it when its up again, Hamlet I mean. Gotta travel from Germany, but what the heck....

Oh and I just bought the DVD on amazon. Hurray!

  • Wouah O___O

    Wonderful...

  • Simply PERFECT.

  • beautiful.

  • I absolutely love you for making this! The moment David opened his mouth and the clips fell into place, tears rolled down my face. This video is now in my fave list and you are one of the nicest persons on this earth! I know, all of you think I'm nuts now! LOL

  • Bravo!!

  • This is...perfect and fantastic. You are awesome for making this! :D

  • Once I've regained my ability to speak... WHY IS THIS MAN SO BLOODY TALENTED?!? He is a STUNNING actor. Absolute perfection on every syllable he utters.

Second, you, too, should be praised for this video. You took something utterly astounding and beyond words and took it up another notch further. This could have easily spoiled the whole thing, but it was BRILLIANT in so many ways! GREAT clips, GREAT song, GREAT EVERYTHING!

I'm so tempted to show this to every single person I've ever met.

  • Wow that was amazing, the music was brilliant and very well chosen and the monologue really matches the show surprisingly! The clips chosen were beautiful, really love this! 5* and faved! <3

  • Brilliant!!

  • very good work !!!

  • OMG!! this was soooooooooo fantastic... such a brilliant work!!!

    very well done indeed!!!

    five stars !!

  • Wow this works perfectly well! I loved this :D

  • Very very well done, but he skips

"The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,

The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,

The insolence of office and the spurns

That patient merit of the unworthy takes,

When he himself might his quietus make

With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,

To grunt and sweat under a weary life,"

Which was odd, did you clip it? Or did he himself just skip it?

  • Brilliant work, very cleverly and well put together

  • Brilliant work.

  • This is perfection! It moved me to tears and is now my absolute favourite youtube vid - well done!!

  • goosebumps

  • Aw that is beautiful. Love the music in the background. Very well done. Epic in fact. Funny coz I thought the same when watching Hamlet!

  • This is more than brilliant!!!

Not alone that the file is made very well.

It's really that way: This speech describes the story and the thought of the Doctor to a T.

    It's just pure dead brilliant!!!

    Love what you've done!!!

  • Ahah, glad you think so :) Thank you :) x

  • I've a question... I'm running a David Tennant page on facebook an dI would love to put your video on it, if that's ok...

  • Oh wow! So amazing and brilliantly edited. So creative and original. It actually kinda makes me dread the final episode of David Tennant all the more, haha! But just amazing job! This speech is really perfect for the Doctor's thoughts as well.

  • wow, I'm amazed at how well it fits but it does and you put it together brilliantly! Well done for spotting it and having the idea. Your clip choices were brilliant! 5* and *faved*

  • Ahah :) sorry,

Aww that's so nice :) thank you! x

  • Ohh, very nicely done! I like the combination of David's Hamlet soliloquy with all the clips from Doctor Who. Perfect fit.

  • Thaaaaaank you :) X

  • I love this.

There are so many little bits that I've wanted to use in Doctor Who videos since seeing this in the flesh last summer - and you really can't escape how perfect this monologue is for Ten.

Am I the only person who kept seeing flashes of the Doctor in his preformance?

    Love this immensely :)

  • No, I see it to, it's just David, all actors have some similar traits, and Hamlet seems very Doctor-ish. Thanks for the comment! Means a lot :) X

  • Hmmm yeah, I know what you mean.

I think it might have something to do with the accent too, though. Like I just associate that accent of his with the particular role of the Doctor.

Besides, I'm sure Hamlet and the Doctor'd get along fine ;)

And not a problem - I love this video loads :)

  • omg! you are amazing!! I love this!!

  • Ohhh thank you so much! :) x

  • This is the most brilliant Doctor Who video I have ever seen. Thank you. Thank you so much.

  • Ooh this is brilliant! I thought the speech reminded me of The Tenth Doctor as well! XD This is wonderful! ^^

  • It's quite ridiculous isn't it? He branches off into something else and he still can't escape Doctor Who :L

    Thank you for the comment!x

  • You're welcome!! XD

ROTFL! Indeed it is! I kind of feel sorry for David Tennant, but then again... we fans always have the fun of vidding him in any shape or form! ^^

  • I was speechless watching this, this was such a GENIUS idea to combine the two !

I was in tears at the end ... (what will it be after watching the episode tonight ...)

I totally agree with you, Hamlet on tv was Stunning but surely not as stunning as on stage but that's normal to think that because you just get the chance to live it all live and to see the actors just there performing for you, nothing can ever replace that !

  • Thank you so much!

I'm in tears already about tomorrow :'( and all the comments are making me cry too.. Darn Russell and Tennant for making us so darn emotional!

I know, it was fantastic :)
