  • Great! Professor Vollhart is a good teacher I think, haha!

  • Brilliant. Anyone can access this.

  • you bastard

  • dont understand zzz

  • I desire these videos are in Turkish underline. So educated videos, thank you for sharing

  • In which year of a UK college does a student take the equivalent of a B3 chem course?

  • This stuff is so hard. Fuck. Where si Dr. Vollhardt....man does that guy have a heart? He should teaching us...a sub...where is he?

  • its jibrish...

    i dont understand shit...

yup, fo sho he's a sub

  • i like cheese :P

  • isopropilbenzene = cumene, ahaha, if you didn't know

  • God I hope the normal professor doesn't say "uh" every few words. Typical science teacher though, he sounds very unsure and awkward until he starts talking about the actual chemistry, then he just lays it down :P

  • Believe me, he's not that bad. I've had some experience with really terrible lecturers. There are actually very few that are truly enjoyable to listen to. This one seems fine, though not one of the best (I'm not through the video yet).

  • hell at least he speaks english haha. My current orgo teacher is from columbia, and I can barely understand her.

  • @magstardrums

I mother is from argentina and she teaches o chem, i feel sorry for the students.

  • @LemonLimeLaughter me too if her english is as good as yours...haha just playin

  • O.o they study this on college???

We learned all that in 2nd grade in highschool, and it wasnt even a school specialized for chemistry. :O

  • @derbigpr500 good for you

  • Organic Chemistry is one of the main reasons im not going to be a doctor. its a whole different language I barely survived organic chem I and is the reason why Im not also a chem minor.

  • One thing about adding a carbon group to a benzene ring is though a Friedel Crafts reaction in which an Acyl or alkyl chloride reacts with benzene in the presence of a lewis acid catalyst which is electron deficient as to act as a halogen carrier. One example of electrophilic substitution of the benzene ring. By using an alcohol using concentrated sulphuric acid. this would generate the carbocation.

  • i hate organic chemistry so much.....

  • I also think Inorganic chemistry is much more interesting

  • They need more videos like this, on more subjects. This is great.

  • hey, what about organic 1?

  • i love organic chemistry

  • this is more like it :D

  • Sweet Goodness!! This is totally in another language! Thank goodness I was an Accounting major in college!! YIKES!

  • lol

  • Im glad Professor Vollhardt is back for the next lecture. He really clarifies this stuff very well.

  • 1 hour 16 mins O.O

  • Although I find it interesting, I'm glad I don't live next door to him! We may have to have conversation at a bbq! I'd open up about the clorine content of acalyd rocks fouNd in a carbonhyrogen bond!

  • I do not understand a single thing! I am glad I am a psych major! This stuff sounds hard as hell and it seems boring! All I hear are vocabulary that I have never heard of before. That's why I took bio and I am taking an earth science as my second science. I have to give it up to all the chem majors out there!

  • It's easier than it looks. I study a lot tho since i'm a biochem premed student so I guess that's why I find it so easy now.

Drawing all resonance structures of an organic compound is a bitch though.

  • jamesvangurp, the last thing would a good professor do is to remember topics like a poetry.

good professors have bad memories, they keep thinking about new things more than keeping thinking about old things or depending on a same paper written before years.

  • What's wrong with looking at note?????

  • Those are not notes. He is not standing and reading off of the paper. He probably has key points written down so that the students can get the correct lecture per the syllabus. Organic chemistry cant be correctly taught with notes, you have to know what you are saying and understand chemistry as a whole.

  • Is this really at Berkeley and who is this? It can't be Vollhardt. This guy just confused an intermediate and a transition state, kind of embarrassing...

  • Seconds 15 through 22: "Morning. As you know, Dr. Vollhardt is currently out on vacation so I am going to be filling in for this morning's lecture."

  • im so glad i found chem lectures online. organic chem is such a sexy beast.

  • Hey I am a chemist and I know what are you talking about!!!Chemistry means life...

I love you all chemists...Visit my page, watch my vids and relax for a while my intelligent chemist friends :))

  • we used the book on ochem that vollhardt wrote

  • OMG I feel So good. I know 96% of the materials he taught. I am so happy. Well I am a chem major. But anyways it just feels good.

  • your a chem major ? lucky ! im 16 and chem 20 is boring !!!!!! i want to learn it all !!

  • OMG I love this.

  • great video. it helps me to understand few things

  • Viernes is the best ochem professor imo

  • He is Much Better At Giving a Lecture than the Other Guy.

  • yes, that's pretty cool.

  • hes got a new super epoxy resin everlasting bit of chalk thats like the duracell of the chalk world to last that long!!! i bet it gave him a crick in the neck knowing now much he was about to write!!!

prob more than any student in an exaam!
