The singing and dancing are put in for various reasons, sometimes to conceal what would otherwise be a sexual scene, sometimes to portray emotions more effectively, and most of the time, to provide auditory entertainment to the audience. Hence a full action movie can have its own bit of singing and dancing. It's not about people liking singing and dancing. Not everyone does.
