I thin if you are going to protest a religion buy burning it's writings, that a reasonable form of such a protest would be to rip out the pages containing the ideas you do not agree with. For me this would be pages which encourage violence, intolerance, restrictive dogma and such.

I'm a muslim and I have read the bible and have tried to understand it. I still have it with me, a present from a christian friend from when I was abroad. And I still keep it on a high enough place, so it doesn't get dirty, fall, or get walked upon by my cats, why? Respect.
