Don't use this software. They really shouldn't even provide it for download, IMO. It is obsolete. You need Peerblock, which is the same software, only for modern operating systems. Install that and it will run exactly like PG did, only it will actually block IPs.

I wonder how many people get caught running this old software, not realizing it's blocking absolutely nothing.

You do not need to pay money for this kind of service. Use Peerblock, which is the same software as this, only the current version. It's free.

It`s pretty useless now because the update lists that you use to be able to update on a regular basis are now all kaput. I guess whoever made this program was paid off by the corps to make it easier to catch your ass. Try it if you don`t believe me, download it then try to update it. It doesn`t work. Then look at "blocking IP`s" and it says zero. It`s useless.

I no longer download anymore, and didn't know about the program until after I got caught downloading. altho its not 100% but at lease its something.

Peerguardian doesn't mean crap if you don't know anything about network security. If you have ports open on your network they are still going to get you regardless. They will join your network and you will receive letters.

About block lists. What happens if I block my ISP ex. Comcast or Road Runner from tracking me. I've only read these circular "don't bother asking questions" with the only answer being "it's not recommended". It's like on list sites I went to they had a FIRST RULE OF FIGHT CLUB attitude about the question.

I mean, If I block my ISP trackers, wouldn't that hide my use of P2P clients to them? Wouldn't that stop throttling? Or would there be MUCH MORE NEGATIVE consequences of doing this IDK yet?

I dont know much about the program. do you have 64 bit or 32 bit? if u have 64bit it will give u trouble with it. but there is a work around but i dont know what it is

look at their website, if you have 64-bit you have to use commnad prompt and enter some command to allow the driver to work. just look at the peer guardian website
