That's not quite true. The Queen is also Queen of Scots by right of direct descent from King James VI and I. She is, of course, the Queen of England, but she is Queen of the United Kindom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by right of descent both in Common and Statute Laws of England and Scotland.
I thought it was a Scottish King that took on the extra duties as King of England/Wales? Anyway, the SNP say, come independence, the Queen will take over as Elizabeth Queen of Scots.
