  • Can you do a tutorial on your eye makeup in this video? Please its so gorgeous! Or if there is one already please send me the link. Thank you so much, you are beautiful by the way but I'm sure you know that. :)

  • thanks for being concerned for nature. :) cos some just waste and waste and waste

  • girlfriend, do i have the receipe for you...oil painter clean their brush like that and it works GREAT for make up brushes...you use one part antibacterial dishwashing soap and 1/2 a part of extra virgin oil, put some in the palm of your hand go back n forth with your brushes put them aside and then wash them under luck warm water and you know the rest...this is the cheapest and bestest way to do it gurl... there you go...that is all you need

  • Merci fiu mau ds het mr wittr ghoufe :-D hope you understand

  • only $12 dollars in the states for mac brush cleanser

  • only $12 dollars in the states

  • I clean mine with warm water and a tiny bit of antibacterial soap. I didn't even think to wrap them with toilet paper-I threw mine out when they started fraying! >_< Oh, well, they were cheap, LOL.

  • The 32 oz Brush cleaner from cinema secrets it 419 dollars arghhhhhh!!

  • i just cleaned my brushes with extra virgin olive oil and they feel a little greesy should i rewash them?

  • I wash mine with dishwasher soap and face wash =].

  • When I wash my brushes, I usually wash them with shampoo first, making sure that it's clean, then I take a bit if conditioner on it, which make it really soft, and at last I finish off with the MAC brush cleaner, and lay them down to dry. It works really well, and the brushes get's really soft. Every brush is fine, they don't loose hair and they still work as good as they were when I bought them.

  • Hi! Listen, can't find your updated cleaning brush video. Possible to upload it again? Thank you.

  • on amazon it is $20 right now

  • What is the the back to mac thing about ?

  • MAC is a little expensive brushes in my country, is any else brand of brushes you can tell me? thank you

  • dont lay them flat

  • hey :)

muss man die pinsel danach auswaschen mit wasser?

  • how come you cant use a brush guard instead???

  • With my foundation brush even with shampoo it still built up gunk please help.

  • thanks!

  • Ooooh, the trick with the paper is soooo neat! *is trying* THANKS. =:)

  • I absolutely love the eye make-up you're wearing :D x

  • what do you use to fill in your eyebrows?

  • @Ilovekpop906 the brushes bleed the first couple of times u wash them usually.

  • wont the water dry on the side

  • hahah, I thought you were American, until you said you weren't living there! you accent is so Americanized! So out of interest, are you American living in Switzerland was it?

  • How do you clean brushes with dye? Like Shu Uemura 18R red brush? I washed it once and the red dye started coming off. I need help b/c Shu brushes are expensive!

  • I took your advice and put the Mac brush cleanser in a little spray dispenser and I love it! The reusable cloths were also great to incorporate... This video was basically the reason I started cleaning my brushes! I don't use my makeup brushes that much anyways but it's better than nothing! Thanks! Love your channel and love how you live in Europe (irrelevant.)

  • I use shampoo and let them dry over night works great!! xsparkage.

  • If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply store they sell brush cleaner.

  • do i have to use a brush cleanser to spot clean? i've heard ppl use baby wipes, i've heard ppl use rubbing alcohol ....what works and whats good please reply!

  • this was a very good video. you explained things amazinglyy ha

  • what is wrong with 50% water 50% baby shampoo?????

  • I noticed the same thing the first day so I went out and bought a spray bottle from the beauty supply store plus for me it was just more convenient

  • so you dont have to use water? I thought the directions said they have to be wet then you use the product.

  • this is so much better then some of the suggestions for cleaning brushes, I like this idea better because i hate going through my paper towels too.

  • It cost $11 at the MAC stores & like $12 on ebay not including shipping though. So might as well buy it at the store. I want to buy it. But for now I'll try the extra virgin oil and then baby shampoo method. But I will have to get the MAC cleanser since it disinfects the brushes.

  • @pNaicHiK716 you can go on eyeslipsface[.]com you can get a brush cleaner for $3

  • I usually clean my brushes with shampoo and i have herd that some people use conditioner after is there any reason that i should do that?

  • Back and forth, back and forth!

  • also if u put conditioner it makes the brush softer

  • could you use just water?

  • Yay, my question iz answered!

This is xactly wat i waz looking 4.

Hey, im a new watcher to ur videos, i find that most of them r really suited 4 my style - gothic vampire - and its really kwl 2 finaly kno a few awesome styles of makeup.

  • i have actually heard that it is not good to make the circles and you should go back and forth...dont know if it matters all that much...just kinda thought i'd let ya know :))

  • kitchen roll:D

  • I like ur environmental friendly method!

  • I use baby shampoo and it works great especially since I'm prone to breakouts..my skin is freakishly sensitive so thank you for this.

  • I like to use Lush soaps on my brushes. They clean really really well and leaves the bristles very soft. To dry I use a microfiber towel or cloth.

  • can you purchase a brush cleaner at a pharmacy like CVS?

  • Yeah, she uses baby shampoo. Any drugstore holds it. =)

  • depends if drugstore brands make brush cleaners i guess

  • what about eyebrow brushes? mine is really thin and edged, i have only used it a few times, guess im scared of ruining it..i have been rinsing with water, and drying it to a towel laying the flat side down and pull it with the hairs, out of ideas to clean it :/

  • You can use baby shampoo as well. Just as long as you are careful it will be fine.

  • What kind of shampoo do you suggest for cleaning face brushes??

  • I use Johnson's Baby Head to Toe Wash, I really like it. Try a conditioner to soften them if you find them too rough :)

  • Thank you sooo much! =]

  • Baby shampoo. Ex: Johnson&Johnson has a nice one.

  • Thank you I almost did that too^^

  • Could you use a face wash to clean?

  • i love your honesty on wht really works and how it works not like the other tutorials dont really look into the products. thank you!

  • I love your lip stick color. can you share the brand and name of the lipstick... so pretty.

  • haha we have random rags that we clean with aswell:P

  • thanks for the helpful info..but i gotta admit i couldnt stop staring at your makeup in this vid..very nice. :)

  • Can you use soap as a replacement for shampoo? Not like, the bar soap, but the liquid-y soap that has a nozzle that you push down to get it out?

That's how I've been washing my brushes...

  • using a towel really scruffs up my brushes.

now idk if im cleaning them wrong but i just swirl them around and its really frustrating because they are pretty spendy.

  • could you just wipe your brushes on a make up remover pad or facial cleansing towel things?

  • You can like just after you use the brush so the colours don't get mixed up or whatever , but it won't disinfect them, which the alcohol in the cleanser does

  • Switzerland is on the Euro isn't it?

  • No..

    Swiss Franc

  • even here in the philippines MAC is expensive!

  • you're very beautiful!

  • i totally agree with you about the foundation brushes, blush, and powder. the mac cleaner doesnt work very well. i wash the brushed with those everyday and then i wash them once a week with baby shampoo.

  • i usually use shu uemura oil or sometimes i just spray olive oil to dissolve the oil based pigments and rinse with Baby Shampoo.

  • Hey! Do you know any store or brand in EU that sells brush cleaner? Every where I looked didn't have it.. So, little help please! Thank you very much!

    Kiss from Slovenia!

  • lol, i should've watched this vid before using my MAC cleanser on my powder brushes...no matter how many times i wet the brush with the product and rubbed it on a towel, there was still powder left over in the brush! that sucked, lol..lesson learned =)

  • its 11$ in the states :)

  • I add water to my brush cleaner make it last longer.

  • I've always used shampoo for my larger brushes, and I use Suave Deep Cleaning... it's gentle but is formulated to remove residue from products.

  • will any type of shampoo work to clean them? and if i water down shampoo and put it into a spray bottle will it work like the brush cleaner???

  • i use head n shoulders shampoo to clean my brushes and it is wonderful! i think shampoo works better than any store special brush cleaner!! you just dip the tip of the brush into shampoo, and if you want you can mix shampoo and water to put in a bottle! but make it more shampoo than water!

  • kk thx! so shampoo and water in a spray bottle works as a brush cleaner? thats good because i dongt have lots of money to get brush cleaners

  • Honestly I think that will be a big mess. Brush cleaner also contains alcohol to sanitize, just using shampoo and water is not going to do the same job, might as well just wash your brushes with shampoo. Putting more shampoo to water ration - no. That is not going to be good for your brushes if you don't rinse them out.

  • yeah shampoo (head and shoulders) and water, work fantastic!

  • well would it work or not cause MissChievous said it wouldnt and u, fjoann, said it would??

  • It will work for regular washing, but that combination of just dipping the brush in shampoo and NOT rinsing out the shampoo is going to def ruin your makeup.

  • yes it works! just make sure it has more shampoo than water! like if you notice in her video, the brush didn't go complete white! it was still dirty! look, first time wash them without adding water! like just dip the little tip into shampoo, and rub it with a little bit of water on your palm, then rinse! you'll see it works!

  • Yeah WITH rinsing, but that's just like washing your brushes though, that is not a dupe of brush cleanser, those are two different methods completely. lol And no my brush was not dirty anymore, the wetness makes the goat hair look darker.

  • ok thx so much so the shampoo only works if ur rinsing it. got it!

  • ooh yeah sorry maybe i didn't make it clear! you have to rinse it after rubbing it with shampoo n a little of water on your hand!!

  • well yh they are two different ones! mynes the cheaper way to do it! they both work good!

  • @xXBluePolkaDotsXx

cheapest option, is to get like those hand sanitizer gels with alcohol, I dont know, but in the UK, since the whole 'swine flu' 'epidemic' there was massive increase of sales of theses products in shops, and pretty cheap :)

  • what brush cleanser were u using?

  • neva? I never knew that was a word.

  • great idea on using a clean towel rather than using a paper towel all the time!

  • I also use Neutrogena anti residue shampoo for deep cleaning my brushes. It works really well. It is actually my must have shampoo for both deep cleaning my hair weekly as well. Great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Girl, You should try Makeup Forever brush cleaner, Its a spray as well and it works really good. Also I dont think Ive ever seen you use makeup forever products...do you not like them or are they not availible where you are? and what do you think of the Nars kaboki brush? Thanks! xoxo your amazing to watch!

  • i use organic hair shampoo and then condition to make it soft and smooth

just make sure u rinse all the soap out (:

and for extra antibacterial agents, use baking soda

    and air dry ;)

  • is the free lipgloss for all countries if you give six empty containers??

  • You look so pretty here.

  • Thanks for ur info, i did the same thing with my 217 brush. But how do u clean ur synthetic flat foundation brush? I do clean it with my brush cleanser but sometimes it can't reach dirt inside the bristle. I tried to wash it with shampoo but i have to work hard to get into the bristle because the dirt keep stuck between the bristle and won't came out! Any idea?

  • Your nail polish is RAD wow!

  • i loved ur tutorial on brushes and the one on the brush guard too

  • thank you

  • ur nails r always looking great why dont start doing nail tutorials that would be great love u vids btw

  • i love your makeup in this video. what is your lipcolor?

  • Swiss Francs ( currency from Switzerland)

  • Wait how come you dont rinse (with water) after u use the MAC cleaner, thats what the directions say! That Alcohol can really dry them out- And thanks for all your tips:)

  • Because that way they will dry fast, if you rinse with water you will have to reshape and wait a long time for the brushes to dry. Brushes are actually quite resilient, as long as you deep clean regularly to remove the alcohol, they will be fine. Sometimes I use conditioner on them when I wash them too. Makeup artists don't rinse with water in between cleaning brushes, also at MAC.

  • oohhhhhhh Thanks i didnt know that:-)

  • is that safe for the face/eyes though, to not rince clean the brush cleanser solution (with water)? thanks for solving my dilemma : )

  • What do you mean if you "deep clean" them regularly? You mean a more detailed cleaning than JUST using the MAC brush cleaner? How do you do a deep cleaning?

Also, do you ever use conditioner on YOUR eye brushes?

  • I Have tried to buy the mac cleaner thingy but I am from England can you buy this on the mac website

  • yes it's on the website. it's $11 USD. =]

  • I couldn't pay attention because I was too distracted by your gorgeous eyes

Is that the chocolate smokey eye, or whatever you called it?

  • swiss what?

  • I wanna get that mac one, its only $11

  • thanks for the vid, it's been a great help. LOVE that you use cloth and not paper towels. What a great idea!

BTW, what's your lipcolor? Your lips are gorgeous!

  • I just got my first brushes today ... MAC 187 and 219. YEA! Do you clean NEW brushes any differently than a regular cleaning?

I love your videos and tips!

  • you could clean it, if it has an odd smell then personally I would, but otherwise your not oblidged. And if you chose to clean it, just wash it normaly (to how you would wash your brushes)

  • I use a baby wipe and rub my brushes on a clean baby wipe. It works great! Also they work great on taking your makeup off at night. I like to run the brush across the wipe as I'm applying my eyeshadow to apply it and give it a foil effect. Have you tried this?

  • Thank you for your suggestions.

I also tried EnKores Cleaner and it has too much conditioner and left my brushes sort of sticky.

  • I've heard baby shampoo is good cus it cleans and is gentle on the bristles.

  • You can also just look for the spray tip of any bottle that fits the MAC bottle & replace it! That's what I did!!!

  • But if you swirl the flat e/s brushes, doesn't that ruin the brisles? aren't you suppose to just run it back and forth? =s

And im not sure if it was like that before but after you swirled the first brush there were like a few strands of hair sticking out. :x Think you might've swirled it too hard?

  • Hm nope, you just shape the brush at the end when it's still damp and it retains its shape.

  • I user Water and i sorta like put a little bit of sop and then i Dry them and they look good as new :D

  • I bought some mac cleanser, first time i used it one night i put it back in it's box. The next morning went to it - I had left the cap open and it had fallen over and tipped out :( i had about 3cm left in the bottom. I nearly cried.

  • My 222 gets completely messed up when i wash it, and i really dont know why, i wash it super carefully! I tried the towel trick, but it did nothing for me:S Maybe i did it wrong? Do you have any problems like that with your 222? Do you think i might have used a wrong type of shampoo? Im really really desperate, because it is almost unusable as it is now! Super grateful if you reply! :)

  • Roll very snuggly with toilet paper, it will get it back to its original shape, at least it does for me, you must be doing something not quite right...?

  • I washed it again, and rolled the paper a lot tighter around it! I was probably not rolling in tight enough:) Just have to wait untill tomorrow so it gets to dry completely. Hope it works, thanks alot for replying!:)

  • So its alright to put water on your blush brushes?

    To get the shampoo out.

  • yes

  • hi there,i have a problem with my mac217,im using mac cleanser (without water) but i noticed the hair of my brush becomes dry and it starts to break, any idea?

  • Im too poor for MAC lol damn... all these videos on youtube are all mac brushes and make-up... maybe I need to invest... can you give me some ideas for basics for all under $100 combined?

  • what lip colour u use can u show us plz

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! you saved my 217 brush! Your method of rolling it was too good to be true! That was the best way to wake up..to see that your favorite brush was brand spanking new!

    Best advice!

  • thank you so much for that video, my 217 tends to lose its shape as well and it's been like that since the day I first washed it after buying it, and I was so angry I had spent so much on something that I couldn't even use it once as it should be if that makes sense, anyway thanks again I'll definitely try the paper towel trick :)

  • Really enjoyed the video. Very good tip about goat hair brushes.

  • LOVE your vids...just thought I would add that EnKore Makeup has a recipe for home made brush cleaner

  • I mention that in the video - I did not like it, personally.

  • she said that she used to do use it!

  • thanks for the paper towel tip. I should have watched this before I ordered the brush guard.

  • why do you say you should have watched this first for the paper towel tip?

Did you not like the brush guard? Because I'm really thinking about ordering it.

  • It's kinda gross how much product comes out of eye shadow brushes when cleaning them. I just bought some brush cleaner this weekend but I had been using baby shampoo, so I'm glad you mentioned it as well.

  • Johnson and Johnson Tear-free baby shampoo!

  • thanks for the info... i have a question: the instructions on the cleanser say to rinse after cleaning, is the lack of water harmful in any way? Thanks in advance! =0)

  • lol well the point of cleaning after every use is to get them free of built up products, if you have black bristles, the product will still be inside, you just won't see it as much. Zour suggestion is just like sweeping dirt under the rug, the point of cleaning brushes should be seen from a sanitary aspect, not merely an aesthetic one.

  • yeah i get it haha. but i do lean my brushes, [dont get me wrong] i just dont do it after every use, you know

  • rofl and then when we try and use a light highlight color with our dirty brush that we used for black eyeshadow it will turn out rly well. xD

  • You never clean your brushes? That's very unsanitary and kind of gross tbh...

  • Just bought some . TEN US DOLLARS.

  • thanx for your amazing vids. you're one of my top favorite make up gurus!! can you please tell me what you are wearing on your lips? i don't know that such a sheer pink will work with my olive complexion but i'd like to try it. it looks beautiful on you,

  • you live in switzerland?thats cool,so do i!

  • bare minerals works good too.... thanks for the video :)

  • Thank you for the roller paper advice. I didn't know what to do with my kabuki brush everytime I washed it.

  • i found this video very helpful! except that i talked to a MA at a MAC pro store and she said not to use baby shampoo. She told me that I should use regular shampoo because it moisturizes the brushes more. So I don't know! Maybe you should try it out. :)

  • baby or regular shampooo?

  • she told me NOT to use baby shampoo because it doesnt condition your brushes enough. i have been using my regular shampoo for a while and i don't see any damage on my brushes. don't use too much though! just a little pea-size will do :)

  • Thank you! I really needed this video. :)

  • when you have used up all of your mac products you take them back to get free stuff? can you explain more ive never heard of that?? thanks
