  • yea, really tired of the bullshit, either we get a contract or phucken strike, tired of att`s bullshit procrastination

  • worked 1 job on Zombie Jesus day, it was a U-verse install with VOIP and a ported number.....and coincidentally it was the home of a AT&T first level manager/ordained minister...(thats an oxymoron if I ever heard one). No "normal" human would have the heart to schedule that day.

  • No offense, don't work for AT&T nor am I a CWA member, but really...lots of info about getting ready to strike, but didn't the contract expire almost two weeks ago? So are you guys going on strike or not?

  • I made a song called "local 9" dedicated to at&t. click my name

  • If you think this is a shitty rap song you evidently don't work for AT&T...unless you are one of the idiots who gets Millions in bonuses.....otherwise you would get the message.....

  • I wish that I was of "those idiots" and getting Millions in bonuses, then what would that make you?

  • CWA 4900 -- we are united, all of us! DSL workers, U-verse, consumer, prem techs, we got your back! United we stand!

  • Most of the good union workers retired several years ago.A lot of the new techs have no pride in their work, they are just there for the paycheck

  • Hey dont worry about all the haters and ignorant comments, The Song is actually pretty good and the beat is not out of date. Vocals are good too man, We cant let ATT screw our wages and healthcare whlie they get richer. Unite, and stand together! CWA3122 here Miami Fl.

  • this song is fucking stupid. end of story

  • Wheres spaghetti cat?

  • that white guy at the beginning of the video raps better then you.... son

  • i dont have a job, maybe i should make a rap video about that and put it on the internet

  • We are supposed to be unified & mobilized & therefore hello...............where are....we??????????? still not stirking.??? or no contract?? the company is laughing their ass off at us guys>>> you say if we dont stand for something we will fall for anything...guess what?? we are falling!!!!!!!!!!! we are sending the company a strong message that we will fall for anything......where are we union???

  • Wow, people make shitty rap songs about anything these days. This video is proof of that.

  • Look at the horrible video you put out, I'd lower your wages too if you worked like you made video. Don't even get me started on the music either son, this ain't 1987, get your life right.

  • I don't even like rap music, just a personal preference but I am feeling this......Nice Job!........For real man you guys keep on reading those nice ATT headlines, YOU DON"T KNOW the half of it!..........And No this is not the AUTO INDUSTRY!.........THIS company is actually making money........26.00 a share trading and what are the big 3 at .........enough said.

  • Patienteys75:

    Well, here's more:

    ATT was 43 in 2007.

    VZ was 46 in 2007.

At the present time the stock prices are disgusting in reality; especially when the Dow market has gone up in a straignt line and tel co has not moved. Guess who and what is dragging it down?

    Good day.

  • DO DA STANKY LEG!

  • Hahaha, Holy shit. What are you people complaining about? You live in the shittiest part of the country and when your pay gets cut or you lose your benefits are whatever you little girls are bitching about, then some you might off yourselves and do the rest of the country a favor.

  • I was bumping this shit in in my '85 El Dorado today and a bunch of slob ass Time-Warner niggaz rooled up beside me trying to front.

I threw on my orange vest and started poppin' fools for the cause.

All they saw was a big blue bell before they faded out. Fo' reals.

  • How come my comments are getting thumbs down but other pro-union comments are getting thumbs up?

Does anyone care to read these in full or do people just read the first few lines while failing to recognize that the quotation marks means that I am quoting someone else and - as such - the anti-union verbiage is not of my position?

Pathetic. Rather than just poorly rating my comment, why not refute my position?

  • You guys must be beating your chest with prowess - sitting innocuously in front of only the dim light of your computer screen giving thumbs down to comments in disagreement with your personal agenda. Dislike what I have to say? Why not formulate an intelligent thought and compose a regardful rebuttal in lieu of attempted censorship.

  • Dear Willpoire:

I had enjoyed reading your profile: with all of those activities that you had said that you engage in, it is a wonder how you could find three hours to create a comment as eruditely as you had composed.

    Good day.

  • "I had enjoyed reading your profile: with all of those activities that you had said that you engage in, it is a wonder how you could find three hours to create a comment as eruditely as you had composed."

And what exactly impressed you to assume it took me three hours to type that comment? I typed the aforementioned and preceding comments within a matter of minutes.

Care to discuss the facts or do you prefer replying with some more non-rebuttals?

  • Let me step in and say! Yes AT&T sucks but it is not the job it's the management. From the Highest to the Frontline butt kissing Managers. I loved my job and what I did. And most important I was a true Union Member for 8 years. I quit and took the benefits that I went out on strike for (this contract). Let me tell you...You dont want to pay for health insurance and receive lower wages you all earn every penny you earn daily. Fight for what you have now, wear your RED and support your union.

  • we are overly ready in Columbus ,ohio,local4320, What I hope the union holds onto most is No forced OT in Ohio and I hope you ask your locals to fight to get that language into your states, Cwa- wall to wall

  • Well keep watching local 6016 and district 6, we are now working without a contract, and as of now...one week after the contract expired they are implementing Sunday installs for Easter. How this one turns out will play a huge roll in Upcoming re negotiations.

  • I am betting there will be a management lockout before a strike.

  • Quoted from Proxy info2009 "AT&Ts executive pension and severance benefits stand out as unjustifiably costly. Randall Stephenson continues the trend. total cost of his change in control severance package exceeds $22 million, non-qualified pension benefits exceed $21 million. While the rank-and-file pension plan was frozen and converted to an annual contribution, the CEOs benefit under the SERP is a defined benefit annuity, payable for life, and targeted at 60 percent of salary plus bonus.

  • if no owes you anything then why does the Dept of Labor specifically wage & hour state employees working overtime shall be paid for time worked over 40 hours ---its public record see how many times AT&T has violated that .

  • nice to see the comments from the managers who wish they were union r maybe the ones who have never had the ability 2 have strength in solidarity, people fighting 2gether to make things better 4 all, making sure corporations dont continue 2 abuse, underpay n steal from workers. it takes character 2 stand up for others n that is what unions have done and always will do. check your history books uneducated bloggers! dont worry att has a job for you but its in India where they pay 9cents per hr!

  • proudtobeunionfree-tell us what you and your co-workers have? don't think if you don't have it ,that no one else needs it.you should think if they have, i should too. join a union help your self and your co-works.

  • Turn me up in mah' headphones! MC Ma-Bell up in dis' piece. Boutsta' bust it out for my peeps hustling dial tones while these lazy nuckas be dropping busy signals, nahmeen?

We keep it grimey in these streets, climbing poles and grinding on hos...ya heeaaard?

  • Iam so tired of everyone making statements about how wrong we the union are. Let the companythey work for tell them they are going to cut their pay almost in half plus they are going to change their health care plan so they have to pay more out of pocket but at the same time their company wants to pay themselves more. Then maybe they would wish they had a union rep to help you. But until they have that happening to them ,they should keep their mouths shut.

  • I heard Lil' Wayne boutsta' do teh remix for this.

  • yea lil wayne featuring los tigres del norte

  • Ignorance is not an excuse,if he knew the history of Unions he'd know they set the pace for wages today, pensions, 401k's. if your Mgmt you got scammed the CEO cashed in his stock options days before you were notified no raises. Who made the $ for the CEO the employees. You were just fleeced. You are benefiting from past picket lines. You could return to the 20 & 30's and work for nothing 24 hours a day if corporate america wins we will all return there. But Hey they'll get their millions

  • Uverse prem techs are earning as little as $10/hr and a little change... mandatory overtime, last moment scheduling changes, and treated as temps (no retirement, low pay and no say). The only reason some of them would have ever considered the offered wage is because of the total compensation package And actually the only benefit they really have is health care. If at&t cost shifts health they might as well be working in fast food. At least then they will get a free lunch along with the uniform.

  • This is teh best rap song ever. Makes me want to be a hiphop corporate slave to my job...yo. Keep it real and junk. Actually, just keep my phone on.

  • ProudToBeUnionFree........ you sure your not one of the company managers? Kind of strange that you just created your profile today and are making your comments. Whats wrong? Scared to come out of your office and do some real work when we walk out?

  • u are aware that it is more than one contract being negotiated.. each region is negotiating their contract. so what one is offered can change by region.. just a thought.. considering i cant quote what u were told.. just keep that in mind.. and smile.. :D

  • enlighten us.. if the customers dont deserve from the company. and the workers dont deserver from he company? who does?

  • Comment removed

  • A guy from my hubby's union wrote this song. and to ProudToBeUnionFree, we will talk when your company is trying to make you pay out 10,000 for health care before they will pay anything. I'm proud my hubby is in the union for AT&T. And that is only a few things they are trying to make the men and women pay, would you like it if you had your pay cut, and it is the men and women who work there a@@ off to make AT&T all the money the make.

So I WILL SAY PROUD TO BE A UNION MEMBERS WIFE

  • I would have to try REALLY hard to buy health insurance in the private sector that would cost me $10,000 - by the way last week I was told it would be $13,000 - why dont you guys have a meeting to get your stories straight that way you can at least all post the same propaganda

  • Comment removed

  • If your job is so TERRIBLE & your management is so UNFAIR(on a side note; most of us learned in kindergarten that lifes not fair) why dont you quit & just go straight to the welfare office? By the way, thanks for the bargaining updates you morons are so proud to post each day, they keep most of the office in stitches laughing at your dumb a**e* get a life no one owes you jack it doesnt matter if AT&T made gazillions of dollars last year ITS NOT YOUR MONEY & YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO IT

  • ohhh someone is angry...lol. just because you volunteered to roll over and take it, doesnt mean we all should. you stayed while they forced thier health care on you, you stayed when they took away your holidays. well and if youre a new hire you wont have any benefits wehn you retire......cudo's to you...but thats just not for us. and BTW ( that stands for by the way in case you are not up on the chat lingo) youre a fool for posting that.

  • I think you guys are confussed - I am not a manager

  • well if you're not, you should be.

  • sounds more like a hater and a wanna be, everyone is getting this video all wrong. It is all about corporate greed. At&t is more and more like AIG and if we the people keep letting corporations taking slices away from us while the coporate fat cats get fatter the economy aint seen nothing yet

  • "If your job is so TERRIBLE & your management is so UNFAIR(on a side note; most of us learned in kindergarten that lifes [sic] not fair) why dont you quit & just go straight to the welfare office?"

Nowhere in the video did the user ever suggest (implicitly or expressed) that his job is terrible or that management is unfair. On a unrelated note, did you progress passed kindergarten of is your keyboard stuck on stupid?

  • "By the way, thanks for the bargaining updates you morons are so proud to post each day"

Do you know what an ad hominem attack is? Perhaps you cannot counterargue the position posited by the CWA that personal attacks are your only recourse. I hope to see.

"they keep most of [sic] the office in stitches laughing at your dumb a**e*"

You find humor in amended notifications? You must be a lousy comedian's best friend.

I digress, cannot you refute the position rather than attack the members?

  • "get a life [sic] no one owes you jack [sic]"

Actually, in accordance to the United States Department of Labor, employers are required to compensate (i.e. owe) their employees for services rendered.

It is what, and to what extent, that is being bargained for, my friend.

That's the CWA's take on it. Of course, you're different so when you next arrive to work, request to be taken off of the payroll and offer your services for free. No one owes you anything. Right?

  • "it doesnt [sic] matter if AT&T made gazillions [sic] of dollars last year [sic] ITS [sic] NOT YOUR MONEY & YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO IT"

So, who is entitled to the money? By your standards, you are not 'owed' a paycheck. Of course, I doubt you'll forgo compensation for your time and services. Why would you demand less of the CWA workers?

  • You sound like a former SCAB !!!!!!!

  • yeah they dont have pay checks because of fat cat greedy suits in wall street and the banking industry. Now we have one running at&t. So good point, there are a lot of people without jobs because of what white collar jerks have done. Its time to make a stand on this one.

  • I am local 4008 out of Macomb/Port Huron Michigan. I think the recent statement by AT&T on their website, saying the unions brought down the big three is rediculous. They omit the the glaring fact that corporate greed and irresponsibility as the major contributor. This is an all out assault on the union establishment. They are trying to use the unions diminished overall standing as leverage to "streamline costs." No regard to the wide impact of lower standard of living this would cause. Fight!!!

  • Lisa the next time its 100 degrees outside or 30 degrees and raining just ask yourself would you do my job for just that day???? I think not.

  • I want this as a ring tone and it isn't even my normal genre

  • Well the CEO's want to use the BIG 3 as a "scare tactic" lets use it to. I want them to have to publicize their earnings and bonuses, maybe then they will start to bargan in earnest.

  • amen to that

  • Comment removed

  • I will pass this along, I am CWA local 6016 and am currently working without a contract, and listening to the managers tell us we all have to work Easter Sunday, not for service effecting issues or conditions but on installs, the only effect NOT running installs on Easter will cause is a thinner lining in CEO's wallets, which should be thick enough by now. I could go to 7-11 and make more per hour, and will if need be. Skilled labor pay should be equal to what is expected.

  • This video Is MY CWA, we are strong and we will not be broken, AT&T wants to take and not give. People need to know all that is happening before they pass judgement on us... while a strike is not what I want I will because it will be the right thing to do. It will help our retires, current employeed and future employees, if you have a problem with what we are doing then stay off the page and find another hobby because you really dont know much about what is going on

  • I work for att local 6222. I just hope that none of my union dues went to pay for this crap. What a embarassment. I hired on and was told that there was going to be this STRIKE, so get ready, save money etc. I pay my dues and evan give a little to the election fund etc... I would think that instead of waisting your time trying to be an artist, maybe hit a couple of the garages and keep your workers informed a little. You want us to mobilize , great i am there. We look like idiots w/ this song!!

  • the song originates from 6222, no funds involved. all was done during the free time of stewards across the board. as most stewards are giving their free time away from families, taking the cuts in pay due to lost hours, and doing everything possible to keep their ranks informed. we were never told as an OFFICIAL word, "there WILL be a strike" we have been told from day ONE to prepare incase of such action is necessary. so dont misquote the official word, nor take rumors as the realities in life.

  • I am embarrassed.

Embarrassment is an emotional state experienced upon having a socially or professionally unacceptable act or condition witnessed by or revealed to others. Usually some amount of loss of honor or dignity is involved, but how much and the type depends on the embarrassing situation. It is similar to shame, except that shame may be experienced for an act known only to oneself.

  • Why does misery love company. Instead of others fighting for their rights to better wages and healthcare, they get mad at those that do. CWA we feel ya. Don't let the cowards get you down with their low wages and high healthcare premiums. They should stand up and FIGHT!

  • This only shows ignorance and greed. There are a lot of people out there MORE than willing to take your jobs. This makes me sick.

  • I hope it doesnt make you too sick, cause you wont have the health insurance to get better.. by the way obviously this is a tough time in america for everyone. If you think the union represented people of the CWA are just being greedy, then you are VERY uninformed.. Do some research before you start telling us how greedy we are.

  • First, your benefits are not being taken away. You are simply being expected to pay for a portion of your own healthcare, just as the rest of America does. AT&T CWA members pay 8% of their health care costs, far below the national average of 32%. You're correct, it is a tough time in America. That's precisely the reason you should be thankful to have a good job that pays you far and above market value and guarantees a raise each year, regardless of job performance.

  • if you worked for the company then you would know that we are not talking about 8%, thats nothing to what AT&T is asking for. How about the Techs that are being layed off, but yet they are hiring techs at the same time for less money.. What about the Service Reps, answer your ?? do u want someone in another country trying to help you, that u cant understand? You really should read your information before u post incorrect information...stupid is as stupid does

  • lisamichelle007- You have no idea what you are talking about. The CEO gives himself a 22% in these tough times when he makes MILLIONS... hhmm can you do that math? And he wants to cut peoples pay? I'm sure you know the saying " you reap what you sow" Come on over a day and see how long you would last... Oh I'm sorry you wouldn't pass the test to get in. See our job takes SKILL & BRAINS and it's apparent you don't have either.

  • Yeah, this video and rap song show just exactly how much skill and brains you have to have to do your job. You're ok with how ridiculous this video portrays your union?

  • It is not the genre, it is the message.

  • Bea- actually most of the people I work with are college educated. You might be to old to relate to this music but listen to the message. That's what it's about.

  • lisa you must be management for AT&T to be that mad about our health care cost. where were you after hurricane? iam guessing sitting in your 74 degree office. We on the other hand were working mandatory 7am to 5;45 min( most of us worked much later) 7 days a week for 5 1/2 months. the techs in galveston are still working 60 hr a week. where were you? its called forced overtime. we give up our childrens bithdays, baseball games, socker games and school fuctions to work for this company.

  • I never said I wasnt thankful for my job. I am very thankful for everything that I have. The fact is a 2% raise and a 26% increase in healthcare doesnt make a whole hell of sense to me, does this sound right to you?? Besides this isnt only about healthcare and wages. It goes much deeper than that.. So as I said before quit reading ATT headlines and do your research.. Do you understand the point of a Union??

  • What's ignorant is stating this shows ingorance. If you knew the issues at bargaining table you wouldn't have said that. You are so right, we are blessed to have a job, and a good one. However, what AT&T employees are trying to hold on to is what WE HAVE! They are trying to reduce our salaries by 40% and inc our healthcare costs by 300%. Esp in these economic times I'm sure you would agree you were fortunate enuf 2 have a good job that was being threatened you would FIGHT to keep it!

  • If you had ANY clue what an AT&T employee has to endure, you would know that we deserve every penney we are getting paid now. We have to be @ work everyday, rain, snow, sleet, ice, hurricanes, tornado's...and God forbid you can't work that day because we aren't allowed sick days or personal days. If your child is sick and in the hospital then you may as well hang it up cause your absence will not be excused. If you're LUCKY there MIGHT be a vacation day slot available on the vacation calendar

  • This company is insanely wealthy and in this day and age of constant technologic evolution ATT will remain profitable.

  • What is really "ignorant" or "sick" is passing judgement on AT&T employees without researching the facts first.

  • hey lisamichelle stfu! just because you work at mcdonalds and have no education, quit your bitching. you don't have the knowhow to do my job! cwa has fought for our benifits for a long time! so up yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Oh all I know is I provide customers quality installs DAILY, and get paid under $12.00 an hour! so stay off here your not informed.

I will continue to do the quality work I do for the customer NOT the company, it is they only way to drag ones self out of bed day after day at such a wage. As for Health Care...never have time to use it, we work long hours.

  • Comment removed

  • There may be alot of people w/o a paycheck now and that does suck; we do feel for those people, but if this isn't settled well there will be even more people out of work. If CWA can set the standard hopefully that will raise the bar for everyone else.

  • Wow. You expect the company to take us seriously when we post videos and music that a 2nd grader could have made? Just wow. This is not intimidating or impressive, though you did have me in stitches when I started listening to the lyrics of that song.

If you want to make an impression on this medium you are obviously not well traveled in, get a nerd who knows his way around it or else all of our coverage online will be simply laughable.

  • And yet, is it right for AT&T to take advantage of the economy when they are making profits? If the banking system had had a union standing up against corporate greed, I can tell you that things would not be as bad as they are now.

  • That video kicks the lama's ass. These CWAGAY guys rock! I hears ya man. Word!

  • I think AT&T Core pays 8% of their healthcare costs versus 32% for the average American, no? And doesn't Core set the industry benchmark as far as benefits go? BTW, great beat...it's just that the message is falling on deaf ears with the US unemploment rate at 8.5% - there's lots of people that don't have a paycheck right now.
