dude your out there the bone bakeing shock attack was fast i have seen keep the good work did you make dvd i like to have one thoes dvds like said befo you awsome
Excellent, clear video instruction. The emphasis on the importance of the "shock move" is especially helpful. Does the Koppojutsu DVD feature similar techniques?
Yes, it does feature similar techniques. And about the shock move, indeed, I know Master Powell used to speak of the importance of the shock in Sanuces as well.
Exactly good to see another black brother who enjoys the marital arts. You actually inspire me to get back into taking aikido and possibly ninjutsu now. One question though: on the first move you said apply a shock to the mid section but what if someone isn't fast enough? What else could someone do besides getting in that close to apply the shock? Are there any moves that a person could employ from a distance that would stil effectively disable the knife attack?
With a knife attack the only other options at a distance is some type of kick, or use of a stick with some length to it. With the kick, kicking at the attacking hand or arm, and with the stick, striking at the hand or arm. Then ,moving in for a strike to face or other area that can daze/shock the person. Or best to avoid all contact if your at a distance to keep safe from slashes and cuts.
Ok. I could see see how those techniques would be a lot safter. But anothe critical quesiton (if I may) about your initial move: I can see that move working perfectly, but is the stabbing motion your student is making realistic? I mean I know its for demonstration purposes, but if I were trying to attack someone with a knife I would definately not make that kind of circular motion that your student wwas doing, but more of a quick jab to the mid section.
These attacks as stated in the video are simple attacks. We will later show some more defense with more skilled knife attackers. The circular attack is just as you see some guys hold guns side ways ( you known hip hop gangsta way). Most people dont hold guns that way but it happens. So same here with these knife attacks. It best to work with the possibilities and the unorthodox and be prepared.
Alright. Thanks sensei. You appear to be very knowledgeable about many aspects relating to ninjutsu including koppojutsu. If you were closer to my location I'd like to train with you. Im out in Detroit and I believe you are in DC if Im not mistaken. The other videos you posted with the other senseis are VERY HELPFUL...I dont know what their names are but they are all knowledgeable including yourself. Nice to see fellow brothers enjoying what they do. *bow*
Do know that I respect you, your skill and your techniques. So I am not criticising (sorry if I spelled that wrong). Just wondering though: at the 0:38-0:42 section, after the kimora arm lock and the spinning elbow, wouldn't the attacker's arm drop in the alotted time? I personally don't know if that would make a difference or not. So I was just wondering if that would be a factor in the technique.
finally, a good, a real good video... really nice techniques and pulled off awesomely!

Thanks for your question. Yes the arm would most likely drop, but the scoop at :43 allows you to lift it for the shoulder arm lock.

I agree with you Sensei about the shock attack. I have seen how the smallest distraction can throw someone off their game
