  • 00:15 lol she acts like a man!!

  • but vidya is amazing. shobhana is a trained dancer vidya isnt u cant compare both.but still vidya managed to perform so well. can a priyanka or katrina do what vidya has done? vidya is the only woman who can be called an actress in bollywood

  • I just watched the Tamil version of "Manichithrathazhu' and with due regard to all nothing like the original Malayalm version and no one can equal whatr Shobana did in that movie. The Tamil version is also ok but nothing can even come near the Malayalam version and Shobana's acting. The Hindi version shd not have been made at all. Bollywood does not know anythin abt making e movie tastefully and elegantly. Sad But True! Bolllywood is just a cover for the Black Money of all underworld Dons.

  • It's not supposed to have 'ghostly' feelings. It's a psychological thriller. Not a horror flick..you kind of raped the brilliant original movie and then puked on it by doing the hindi remake. It's just awful..but i see the movie has grossed well..but still the movie is nothin compared wid the original..it sucks..Money doesn't matter creativity n acting strikes..

  • omg i was so scared tht i scarthched the guy tht was sitting by me!

  • fazil directed the malayalam version. assistent directors were priyadarshan ( who made bhool bhulaiya) , siddique ( director of block buster BODYGUARD), sibi malayil ( 3 time winner of national award for directing film with social content), lal ( actor / director /producer ) and Jayasurya ( director of 2 average movies)

  • I watched all versions malayalam, tamil, kannada bengali and hindi....Def Shobhana is awesome compared to anyone...Also it was in 1993...the assitant directors of the film was 5 leading directors including priyadarsan..the script was brillaint without any over importance to actor...tamil is the worst..beacuse they have added lots and lots unwanted scenes just to boost heorism...the worst is jythokia then vidhya balana then saoundarya.....

  • I think Vidya balan is so good than Shobana...!! Vidya's performance was so awesome...!! <3 <3

  • @tadz94 SO U MUST BE A DEAD FAN OF VIDYA.. I LOVE VIDYA , HER MOVIES N HER ACTING TOO.. SHE IS THE ONLY ONE ACTRESS NOW IN BOLLYWOOD WHO CAN TAKE RISKY N HIGH WILLPOWER REQUIRING MOVIES. BUT THATS NOT A FACTOR TO COMPARE WITH SHOBHANA. SHOBANA HAS GT NATIONAL AWARD FOR THIS FILM. NO ONE MAKE BETTER PERFOMANCE THAN SHOBHANA WHEN IT REMAKE IN SEVERAL LANGUAGES.. VIDYA WAS BETTER THAN OTHER ACTRESSES EXCEPT SHOBHANA.. PLZZ BE HONEST ALLAWYS..

  • amazinggg.... vidya balan rockzzz..... but sobhana was awesome..... i love her actinggg as nagavalliii

  • shobana is best

  • i love the ending...especially how he asked for her hand...aweh

  • to be honest tamil version was horrible.real rejanikath made it like an action movie.and jyothika was sooo horrible in that.best is shobhana and vidyabalan also acted well.but jyithika noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @suhu2great Tamil Version was better...Jothika's acting was excellent......

  • @MrJayamurugan you ll be the only one who says tamil version is better.no offence but jyothika was tottally horrible.ask anybody who knows acting and they ll tell you.for you it might be the best.but not for others who see it from outside.i am from delhi and i respect other languages i like tamil movies but when i compared the three.shobhana was the best.she got national award aswel for that movie.

  • kaisa kaisa feel horaha ? aisa lag raha hai jaise kaan se chidiya udgayi hahahahhahah

  • raaz was a copy from n english film, this one is alot scarier and an indian originl script. Priya was the assistant director for malayalam version.

  • Seriously

which english movie did it copy?

  • @T3ddyrumi not any english movie..it ws a 1993 malayalam movie 'manichitrathazu' and d story ws written by a malayalee writer..Mr.Madhu Muttam..n it is his masterpiece...

'Manichitrathazu' one of the India's best movie evr made..in whch shobana won the National urvasi award for best female performance in 1994.The malayalam version is there in you tube..juz watch n njoy..

  • @1ash9p93india

Can you give the name of the Malayalam version. I want to see it please. Tx. Also is there an english subtitle available for the malayalam version?

  • @Angelus11280

the name of the film is "Manichitrathazhu"

  • manichitrathazhu

  • please do not watch the tamil and bengali versions of the movie, they suck to the core

    MALAYALAM, HINDI AND KANNADA ROCK

infact, MOHANLAL, SHOBHANA, SOUNDARYA, AKKI AND VIDYA ALL ROCKED IN THEIR VERSIONS RESPECTIVELY

  • yes, there is....101% there is

  • Really? What's the name, do you know?

  • I think its taj mahal...very bad attempt...

  • who would wana live with this psycho character....lets be practical

  • why the hell did the king have to kill her lover????

it was such a nice dance they did

the king is soo gay man

  • mann vidya balan is very horiffying in this film

  • OMG!! this was such a creppy partt!!

  • so truue the malyalam version is the best can't be compared any of the remake, i hate the tamil version, the hindi one is good , best is the malyalkam version!!

  • sweet!! i m glad radha finally ends up w/some1..i wonder when adis coming back 2 marry her...well i just hope he doesnt fall in love and marry some1 else before that, like siddharth

  • The meaning of bhool bhuliyaa is that in the movie everyone jus superstitsious about the whole ghost wondering around the castle or whatever that's why the movie is named that its all lik misundersatings and at the end its somethin tottaly different..and its actually a true story about a girl in kerola the same thing happened to her as shown in the movie

  • wat does bhool bhuliya means?

  • Literally it means a maze, a labyrinth. No clue how that applies to this movie. I'd have thought I'd be an apt title for Hungama coz at least that had confusion due to mistaken identities.

  • spookyyy

  • lovable performance

  • i only saw the malayalam version (didn't see tamil version).... so was the real dancer supposed to be bengali?...'cause in the malayalam version, the dancer is tamil. also i think a malayalam singer sang the song vidya is dancing to.....

  • Shobhana turns into a tamil singer, In Kannada (Apthamitra) and Tamil (Chandramukhi) movies the lead actress (Ganga/Avni) turns into a Telegu speaking lady who also do Bharatnatyam. The singer for Ami Je Tomaar is Shreya Ghoshal who would've been 8 or 9 years old when Manichitratazhu was released. The Tamil and Kannada versions of the last song (Raa Raa) are on youtube. Check them out.

  • the singer for vidya is a bengali

  • copy??? of wat??

  • The entire movie is actually a scene by scene lift from Manichitratazhu the Malyalam movie for which Priyadarshan was the second assistant director. The technical and aesthetic finesse is borrowed from Rajnikanth's Chandramukhi which in turn borrowed from Soundarya's Apthamitra. The choreography is a combination of Raa Raa from Chandramukhi and the slaying of the king is second-by-second xerox of Manichitratazhu. The videos for all of them are on youtube.

  • chandramuki and manichitrathal

  • scary movie

  • scary movie

  • love this movie! vidya balan's acting is amazing! she shud get an award 4 this.

  • this movie is so scary i couldnt sleep in the night and my cousin has really seen a person like the girl in the movie avni but i really luv the movie

  • yo her eyes were scary as hell

  • I did watch the all the versions. Yet the tamil version is the best. Jyotika's eyes were more scarry and the way she says "ummahhhh lakalakalakalaka. She has that structure of that olden days ladies and fits perfectly with Vinith. They way "chandramukhi" was burnt and when Jyothika was shown dancing like chandramukhi... the make up was great. They show a kind of semi burnt figure.... make-up. The eyes, hair, black marks. and the king cuts the head of Vinith. That was real.

    MY HUMBLE OPINION.

  • Don't know why you got one thumbs down, I personally agree with you. Jyothika was theatrically more of a fire-breather.

  • hindi version is an exact copy of the telegu version(rest are slightly different).. i saw all of the versions and i think bhool bhulaiya is the best !!!! in every angle, from dance to its palaces, from cast to its dialogues... other versions don't even have mounjolika speaking in bengali..even though she's supposed to be a bengali dancer...

  • To each his own I guess. I've seen all versions as well and nothing beats the original in Malayalam. Shobhana's eyes are more expressive and she's supremely gifted as a dancer.

  • In the Malyalam version the dancer is Tamil and she speaks and sings in it. In the Kannada and Tamil versions the dancer is Telegu and they speak the languages and sing the entire song in Telugu. If you've truly seen the other versions (which are on youtube) you will see the heavy borrowing from all of them. The family structure, characterization, costumes, makeup and dialogue delivery, my friend, are all typically south indian in flavour. As a part South Indian and part North, I can attest.

  • It's not heavy borrowing per se..it's just a remake of the malayalam movie called manichithrathazhu. Infact the director of the hindi version, priyadarshan is malayalee and was the assistant director in the original malayalam production, whichw as released around 10 years ago. Hope this clears the doubt. The hindi version turned out quite nice too. The tamil one was apalling.

  • Of course, I agree with most of what you're saying. I've known since Muskurahat that Priyadarshan is from Kerala and after Virasat I found out he had assisted in the making of Manichitra Tazhu. Yes, the tamil version was over the top and rather jarring in places, but it's inspiration lay in the slight changes incorporated in Apthamitra. I've been watching some scenes from Manichitratazhu on youtube and I was shocked to see even minor expressions and much of the direction replicated in here.

  • what a performence?? what freaky ladki... brrr... but great job!!!

  • wow
