Well actually Lucy is so much more stronger than Mariko; At the beginning Mariko's vectors are so scared of Lucy's vectors, but the reason why Mariko can defeat Lucy this battle is because Mariko went crazy at the hospital; Hence it defeated Lucy's vectors

@itzJack84 Well, I think that it was Nana that sealed Mariko's vectors. In the manga it was reveled that Nana has that ability (it's why lucy didn't attack the doctor when he slapped her in the graveyard) and just before she lost use of her vectors Nana's vactors touched Mariko's forhead (she has to do that to seal/paralise vectors) like they did to Lucy in the graveyard. I don't think it has anything to do with Matiko's vectors being scared of Lucy's ^.^

You assume she dies but then later a figure shows up behind the door and they end the series right before they open it... i think its Lucy and she lives but that is my opinion. They left it that way so the fans could decide if she lives or dies.
