I hate the magic tackles where the players is locked up with another some times two others then i run by just for him magicaly be out of grip away from the other player by alot and bringing me down like nothing. Sometimes he is on me stradeling me to the ground i get that. Sometimes he just gets two hands on my hips for a second or two then falls to the feild just for me to also fall

I couldn't put my finger on why some of the weird stuff, this game series has had,until you pointed out the mirror actions of the guard and the fullback. Too much economization of animations,I know,there's memory issues that have to be addressed,just gut some of the bells and whistles.

one of my biggest problems with the madden 10 is the running the game. there is no way that these guys shouldnt pick up guys that are right in front of them. thats crazy. and for a guard to try and block a guy thats way faster is almost impossible.

Im not saying that this is good graphics, but in real life that is the guards job. He's supposed to chip tackle's man and get to the second level. Obviously thats what the guard tried do do but thats where the game gets stupid when the guard can't find his man. They need to make soe refinements on the AI plat in madden 2011
Thats about it. I am coming off of a "roid" rage from a game of Madden 10. Trying to figure out why my players don't block at all and the computer can pretty much rape me when they have the ball. I wish they would beta test this stuff before selling it. I wish enough people would boycott games. Maybe then they would put effort into the development. Im sure they are working on "something new" for Madden 11 right now. Im buying college next season.
button mashing simply symbolizes the struggle for the ball in the pile altho you have the ball there others player from the opposing team can still intervene...In real footbally if theres a pile IT happens, players try to rip for the ball until the referee gets everyone clear.

Amen the second they went next gen the franchise went downhill. They need too really take a look at the game and freakin fix it. They had it right last gen all they had to do was up date the graphics.
Oh yeah, and the reason those guys can make complete 360 degree turns and fly off their blocks is that touching the turbo button immediately makes all defenders shed their blocks. This was a hackjob put together a few years ago to prevent the running back from easily turning the corner on outside run plays, but it can really burn you.
I almost think that the problem is with Pro-Tak, the new tackle/blocking animation system they put in this year. Running plays are 100% scripted! Every player has an assigned man to beat at the line, even the pulling guard/fullback. How come Madden can't simulate it realistically, then, if all the variables are being controlled? Probably because they're wildly in love with Pro-Tak, and were counting on it to accurately sim it for them. Guess not.
Let e give you some tips for running the ball, I actually got 2000 rushing with McFadden playing on ALL-Madden. I'm not trying to diss your intellegence either cause Madden definatly pisses me off in some aspects. The key to running is manipulation of the turbo button. If you run to the hole full speed(holding the turbo button) Your linemen will just chip the opposing defenders. On run plays, pinch your linemen(especially on pitch plays, but not all the time) and when you want them to catch...
the block, let go of the turbo and set up your blocks(when you let go of turbo, it lures the defenders straight towards you and into your block in front of you). As soon as you think your blocks set up, turn to the angle where you want to go without the turbo, as soon as you do that, off to the races...
Eh, stop complaining about the fight for the fumble feature. You can turn it off, so cry more. If you can't cut back to hit the hole then your just not good, your either looking at your RB the whole time or your actually following the play. I can hit the hole AS soon as I receive the ball. As far as your complaints about Polamalu, I have no problem with. Polamalu makes plays, and if Madden needs him to come off the block to cut the play off, then so be it.

i hate stupid shit like that. like its almost impossible to takle adrian peterson on first contact. he breaks a tackle like 80 85 percent of the time. or hell just spin out of a 5 man gang tackle and that really pisses me off. and another thing is how slow some one is when they make a catch while runnin horizontally or on a flare or a screen or some kind of quick out. and i have he game speed on normal so i know it shouldnt be so dam slow when they make a catch and try to change direction.

And the fumble recovery shit is gay, especially when ur playing someone with a turbo controller, u will never win. The players run fucking wierd, the ratings are all fucked up, they still slide into tackles, the only thing good about madden is the cover. So I just kept the cover and traded in that piece of shit

IS it me or is he made that he cant control the running back before the hand off? Of course its scripted because it is in real life, you can't make a cut before the hand off, you would fumble. The Gaurd is doing a bump block, because the tackle has sealed the Defender the gaurd then goes up field. There is no tackle in the NFL that could block a safty, and you are talking the best rated safty in the game. he would just make one move and the tackle would fall on his face, like he did
I completely agree. Just download the roster updates every once in a while and it'll be updated like the new Madden game. Pretty sad that a game 5 years older then Madden 10 and for PS2 can have every aspect of the game better then Madden, including how the line blocks realistically, sometimes giving 2 on 1 against D-Line guys. The only thing that I wish ESPN 2K5 didn't have is the button mashing running style. Congrats EA Sports, you guys fucking suck.
im aussie just got madden 10 and i dont mind it its different but now i have seen ur videos i realise even more glitches then i already pointed out. passing to ur wide receiver when he is in the open he cant make the catch noone is there and its only a short pass, also when u try for the interception u r the only player there you make contact with the ball but cant catch it? i do think ea have work to do with weight ratio in the scrums,plus players flying out of tackles? protak needs tweaking
you need to slide your line left or right to send ur player to the correct block. just imagine invisible red line leading to blockers. just like when you play defense man to man. i think the lineman have those same lines on runs and passes just invisible. think of it that way and learn to slide your line to the correct spot. or do user control with auto switchback and make the block the computer isnt making... there are ways around that make the game more exciting because its more realistic

I've seen better blocking in tecmo super bowl. but anyways, as far as the scrum pile goes, in reality it doesnt matter who comes up with the ball first. because even the the refs are blowing the whistle, the players are still fighting for the ball regardless. so it you may have the ball but in the pile the other team can still take the ball from you even if the play is whistled dead.

There is one thing that's good about the fumble recovery thing, (by the way I hate the button mashing) It can be turned off. And also I have noticed from looking at replays in Madden 05-08 (all ps2 versions) Madden last gen and current gen have always had those types of blocking issues.
fight for the pile should be activated only if its in close quarters and it's you cant really see who picks it up 1st not when its clear to see who has it

You are totally disreegarding the fact that Troy Polamalu is one of the best safeties in football. He is going up against an average guard who is bulky and doesnt have the hip movement of a smaller faster moving safety with momentum.
I think it makes sense cuz its fight for the fumble. Ive seen it where a guy will get the recover the fumble on the ground then a guy will jump on him on the ground, create a pile and then strip it away. It really is a fight for the fumble.

Wow just after watching the Backbreaker E3 trailer and then coming back to watch footage on the Madden 10 game makes EA look like a board game compared to Backbreaker. I'm not saying Backbreaker is going to be, but it sure as hell looks like a next-gen football game. If EA came close to what Backbreaker showed in that trailer I would be sold instantly. How can anyone think this game looks good? It's too far away and the animation looks dinky.

Backbreaker is all physics no gameplay. it doesnt even look very realistic. the hits look like they are mostly hit stick hits, and when they do get rapped, they look like they're bodies were broken in half. there limbs flail around and stuff.

The running game in the demo needs to be fixed starting with the o-line and fullbacks. In my demo everytime I want to run there is almost 2-3 defenders in my back field all the time. This is due to lineman standing around and a fullback that sometimes gets his assignment.

If this play happened in real life, no pile even happens. I clearly recover the ball on the ground. Any "real" player will tell you that NFL referees protect them and don't let players jump on top of them after a fumble recovery to start a scrum pile.

The ball will commonly change possessions at the bottom of a pile up like that. The "button-mashing" as you put it is to try and simulate how you have to try to KEEP possession. If you don't like it, turn it off. Also, there is no way a guard could hold a block on a safety in a situation like that, and Farrior spinning off of a tight end to make a tackle is unrealistic? How?
That wasn't a spin dude. There was no twisting in the hips. Also, Ryan was going in slow motion but Farrior still spun around super fast. Also, Troy is running straight at a linemen so your telling me, a 300+ linemen would try to cut block a Safety? That animation is fake any way because it make the Dfensive player fly 3 yards sideways even though he either, wasn't running fast enough for that occurence to physically happen, or wasn't running in a logical direction to be thrown sideways.

In response to the guard whiffing on blocking Troy, I've played football for 16years, 4 at the collegiate level as a CB...in the open field I can guarantee you that 9/10 times a guard is NOT going to get a clean block on me. I actually think that TROY's animation was perfect for that situation...the guard animation was questionable, but the outcome was perfectly legit.
As for the button mashing for fumble recovery....absolutely bogus.

Im not saying that this is good graphics, but in real life that is the guards job. He's supposed to chip tackle's man and get to the second level. Obviously thats what the guard tried do do but thats where the game gets stupid when the guard can't find his man. They need to make soe refinements on the AI plat in madden 2011

Thats about it. I am coming off of a "roid" rage from a game of Madden 10. Trying to figure out why my players don't block at all and the computer can pretty much rape me when they have the ball. I wish they would beta test this stuff before selling it. I wish enough people would boycott games. Maybe then they would put effort into the development. Im sure they are working on "something new" for Madden 11 right now. Im buying college next season.

button mashing simply symbolizes the struggle for the ball in the pile altho you have the ball there others player from the opposing team can still intervene...In real footbally if theres a pile IT happens, players try to rip for the ball until the referee gets everyone clear.

Oh yeah, and the reason those guys can make complete 360 degree turns and fly off their blocks is that touching the turbo button immediately makes all defenders shed their blocks. This was a hackjob put together a few years ago to prevent the running back from easily turning the corner on outside run plays, but it can really burn you.

I almost think that the problem is with Pro-Tak, the new tackle/blocking animation system they put in this year. Running plays are 100% scripted! Every player has an assigned man to beat at the line, even the pulling guard/fullback. How come Madden can't simulate it realistically, then, if all the variables are being controlled? Probably because they're wildly in love with Pro-Tak, and were counting on it to accurately sim it for them. Guess not.

Let e give you some tips for running the ball, I actually got 2000 rushing with McFadden playing on ALL-Madden. I'm not trying to diss your intellegence either cause Madden definatly pisses me off in some aspects. The key to running is manipulation of the turbo button. If you run to the hole full speed(holding the turbo button) Your linemen will just chip the opposing defenders. On run plays, pinch your linemen(especially on pitch plays, but not all the time) and when you want them to catch...

the block, let go of the turbo and set up your blocks(when you let go of turbo, it lures the defenders straight towards you and into your block in front of you). As soon as you think your blocks set up, turn to the angle where you want to go without the turbo, as soon as you do that, off to the races...

Eh, stop complaining about the fight for the fumble feature. You can turn it off, so cry more. If you can't cut back to hit the hole then your just not good, your either looking at your RB the whole time or your actually following the play. I can hit the hole AS soon as I receive the ball. As far as your complaints about Polamalu, I have no problem with. Polamalu makes plays, and if Madden needs him to come off the block to cut the play off, then so be it.

i hate stupid shit like that. like its almost impossible to takle adrian peterson on first contact. he breaks a tackle like 80 85 percent of the time. or hell just spin out of a 5 man gang tackle and that really pisses me off. and another thing is how slow some one is when they make a catch while runnin horizontally or on a flare or a screen or some kind of quick out. and i have he game speed on normal so i know it shouldnt be so dam slow when they make a catch and try to change direction.

And the fumble recovery shit is gay, especially when ur playing someone with a turbo controller, u will never win. IS it me or is he made that he cant control the running back before the hand off? Of course its scripted because it is in real life, you can't make a cut before the hand off, you would fumble. The Gaurd is doing a bump block, because the tackle has sealed the Defender the gaurd then goes up field. There is no tackle in the NFL that could block a safty, and you are talking the best rated safty in the game. he would just make one move and the tackle would fall on his face, like he did

I completely agree. Just download the roster updates every once in a while and it'll be updated like the new Madden game. Pretty sad that a game 5 years older then Madden 10 and for PS2 can have every aspect of the game better then Madden, including how the line blocks realistically, sometimes giving 2 on 1 against D-Line guys. The only thing that I wish ESPN 2K5 didn't have is the button mashing running style. Congrats EA Sports, you guys fucking suck.

im aussie just got madden 10 and i dont mind it its different but now i have seen ur videos i realise even more glitches then i already pointed out. passing to ur wide receiver when he is in the open he cant make the catch noone is there and its only a short pass, also when u try for the interception u r the only player there you make contact with the ball but cant catch it? i do think ea have work to do with weight ratio in the scrums,plus players flying out of tackles? protak needs tweaking

you need to slide your line left or right to send ur player to the correct block. just imagine invisible red line leading to blockers. just like when you play defense man to man. i think the lineman have those same lines on runs and passes just invisible. think of it that way and learn to slide your line to the correct spot. or do user control with auto switchback and make the block the computer isnt making... there are ways around that make the game more exciting because its more realistic

I've seen better blocking in tecmo super bowl. but anyways, as far as the scrum pile goes, in reality it doesnt matter who comes up with the ball first. because even the the refs are blowing the whistle, the players are still fighting for the ball regardless. so it you may have the ball but in the pile the other team can still take the ball from you even if the play is whistled dead.

There is one thing that's good about the fumble recovery thing, (by the way I hate the button mashing) It can be turned off. And also I have noticed from looking at replays in Madden 05-08 (all ps2 versions) Madden last gen and current gen have always had those types of blocking issues.

Wow just after watching the Backbreaker E3 trailer and then coming back to watch footage on the Madden 10 game makes EA look like a board game compared to Backbreaker. I'm not saying Backbreaker is going to be, but it sure as hell looks like a next-gen football game. If EA came close to what Backbreaker showed in that trailer I would be sold instantly. The running game in the demo needs to be fixed starting with the o-line and fullbacks. In my demo everytime I want to run there is almost 2-3 defenders in my back field all the time. This is due to lineman standing around and a fullback that sometimes gets his assignment.

If this play happened in real life, no pile even happens. I clearly recover the ball on the ground. Any "real" player will tell you that NFL referees protect them and don't let players jump on top of them after a fumble recovery to start a scrum pile.

The ball will commonly change possessions at the bottom of a pile up like that. The "button-mashing" as you put it is to try and simulate how you have to try to KEEP possession. If you don't like it, turn it off. Also, there is no way a guard could hold a block on a safety in a situation like that, and Farrior spinning off of a tight end to make a tackle is unrealistic? How?

That wasn't a spin dude. There was no twisting in the hips. Also, Ryan was going in slow motion but Farrior still spun around super fast. Also, Troy is running straight at a linemen so your telling me, a 300+ linemen would try to cut block a Safety? That animation is fake any way because it make the Dfensive player fly 3 yards sideways even though he either, wasn't running fast enough for that occurence to physically happen, or wasn't running in a logical direction to be thrown sideways.

You didn't say anything about the FULL GAME. You said that Ryan needed to stop bitching about a feature that could be turned off, implying, Ryan would be able to do it immediately. If you knew it was a demo, you should have said that he should wait for the full game, since you didn't, I'm guessing that you expected EA to let us turn off the feature.

But regardless...it's a demo!!!
The full game will be much different and you'll have many different game play options.

you've never played football, have you, huh? any body can come out with the ball inside a pile, trust me i have. But the game is not great, as it should have been. The takling animations are killing me.

naw i dont see the fumble thing being absolutely bogus, because there are many times, were one dude has the ball, then everyone comes in and takes it from eachother. sure it could be done better, so that the better button masher doesnt get the ball 100% of the time, but its a good start for now. Pile fights are apart of football. i just want EA to have better footplanting and running animations

In response to the guard whiffing on blocking Troy, I've played football for 16years, 4 at the collegiate level as a CB...in the open field I can guarantee you that 9/10 times a guard is NOT going to get a clean block on me. I actually think that TROY's animation was perfect for that situation...the guard animation was questionable, but the outcome was perfectly legit.

As for the button mashing for fumble recovery....absolutely bogus.

Again, Ian you are a liar. That is a very arcade-ish feature in the game and I seriously hope it can be disabled.
