  • I wear eye protection, because the beam of my laser outputs 1,100mW, which can even burn walls and white paper, just after a second of exposure to the beam, even if its the same size as a regular laser pointer dot, and not super concentrated. Light going into the eye is concentrated on the retina by a factor of 10. Just because a laser has an IR filter, need protection, even if its just 30mW, know of a case, someone got a direct reflected beam strike to the eye, and it caused perminant damage.

  • i have a laser with 1 watt for only 160 euro that is a really amazin laser

  • Where does it say he spent $900

  • nice thought to take a soundtrack from, the shining. ;)

  • nice thought to take a soundtrack from the shining. ;)

  • i just have a 10 watt laser that took me about 11 months to build....it has INSULATION WOOOT

  • It's so intense!

  • 1:15

    DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me or does anyone else see the second laser at the end. HAX!!!!

  • my 200mW red lights fuse faster and is about 10x cheaper

seriously for $900 you could get about 6 1000mW 445 lasers

  • @mewrox99

Sure but none of those are 532nm lasers with 0.85nm divergence. ;)

I have 1.3W 445nm lasers and they are great for burning but terrible for beam quality / divergence.

The 10W DPSS (green) can do it all but is not very portable. ;)

  • Why are 473nm lasers rare?

  • @Mauroo13 because it contains a rare earth element known as "neodymium"

  • I got the blue one and i turned it on,picked it up...lets just say i'm right anded, and ONLy right handed..

  • Don't do it your gonna blow up your pinky! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooo ... to late.

  • if u should have learned anything from ghost busters is that to NEVER CROSS THE BEAMS!!!

  • cool i wil try

  • para la proxima pon un pinche ojo aver que pasa... espero y subas el video para ver que paso con tu ojo...

  • Its is dangoures at 1:09

  • DONT CROSS THE BEAMS

    lol

  • what the fuck they're frenchies they're crap fireworks

  • This guy bought that laser from optoronics, which is a nice company that is in the USA, but they dont sell to me since I'm "underage" xD

  • I use my lasers without adequate eye protection bitch

  • hahaha, fail at the end!!!!

  • i just want to know if it burns your hands when you put the pointer on them or your body.

  • why the fuck would anyone want to shell out $900 for a laser pointer that will burn a hole in your presentation?

  • or leave a watcher blind!

  • @shizlnit

It's not a laser pointer. A laser pointer is <5mW. These are laser modules and cannot be used without adequate eye protection.

  • it was a joke, I know what it is ;)

  • @nordhavn57 Thats not true, Lasers from Illumi dot no has IR filters, and I know that other lasers for instance Dragonlasers also use IR filters so you dont need safety googles, and even if you do get hit with the beam using safety googles the effect is the same.

    How do i know this?

Because I have a 250mw Focusable laser and I can still perfectly.

So its not a "must" to use safety googles, but ofc some lasers like urs perhaps dont have IR filter.

  • @AlexZandero

All my lasers have proper IR filters. It's a cost cutting measure. You get what you pay for. Whether a laser has an IR filter or not should NEVER be the determining factor whether or not one wears eye protection. All it takes is one slip up with your 250mw laser and you can possibly alter (damage) your vision permanently for life. Glasses are not that expensive. Even if you were Bill Gates you could not buy another set of eyeballs. ;)

  • @nordhavn57 The shipper of my product said that it would make a difference getting hit with a beam if you wear glasses or not..

And anyway im using it more responsible than most guys. I use it outside mostly and i dont dare pointing on reflective surfaces.

  • @nordhavn57 If I were bill gates I would buy the biggest baddest laser out the and carve mountains with it. PEW PEW!

  • @shizlnit

I agree, I could understand 30 for a laser that can light shit, or look cool at night to where u can see the beams, but hell for 900 lol I could get a new laptop top and a big-ass bottle of JD

  • LOL, because they re not supposed to be for presentations

  • @shizlnit hes right theyre portable lasers haha theyre more for lab use and stuff like that u need to even get the registered like a weapon

  • where's the music from, I can't quite remember.

  • don't cross the beams!!

  • This RPL300 is about 300-350mW average output. In this video it was producing about 215mW average. The output is adjustable with a switch at the end of the laser. This model (now) costs about $900 U.S.

The beam is visible in normal room lighting. A little bit of smoke from a cigar or fireworks makes it look like a light saber!

  • you payed $900 for a laser?

  • @nordhavn57

What's the difference between a 150mw laser that costs 40 dollars...compared to the rpl edition which costs more?

  • how to get the laser visible?

  • to make light visible it needs a reflector...dust in the air smoke and so on...

if its as powerful as this one, even small particles in the air are enough to make the beam visible

  • get a powerfull green laser, or have smoke and/or dust in the air. that'll work!

  • Its powerful Enough to show.

  • @ryusanbusa its visable at night and when its foggy you can barely see it in the morning

  • im getting one from deal extreme. com its a 20 mW and it was only around 56 bucks so if you want one i would check that out

  • I might laugh if that pops in your hand... but then it wouldnt be on youtube :P

  • U burnt ur table

  • The Violet Laser I used was from an old Xbox 360 HD DVD player. Not the game system but the add on DVD player. A green Laser you can get from any Computer CD or DVD Burner. You don't use a focusing lens just use the Laser as it comes.

  • LOL, no. Optical drives use 780nm diodes (CD players), 650nm diodes (DVD readers) and 405nm diodes (BluRay players). Higher, often MUCH higher powers are used for recording. Green lasers like the one in this video are Diode Pumped Solid State lasers using a Class IV IR diode at 2+ WATTS CW. This lases crystals producing 1064nm IR which then lases another crystal producing 532nm which is the green seen here. Much different than your diode lasers found in optical drives.

  • What about the 450NM BLUE not purple lasers? o.O

  • @Kage999 it's 473nm blue, and those are very expensivel

  • No red lasers are from a dvd burner a cd burned is ir which means infra red really dangerous..Violet/Bluray is from xbox or any hd player

  • I made a Lazar like this for about $28.00. Also a Violet Lazar which is stronger for about $40.00 it took about 2 hours.

  • @IronDiesel58 you clearly have no idea what you're talking about....

  • soo cool esspecially the green smoke if you caught it somwhere at the end... Awesome

  • well how did you get that

  • how do you build that

  • you dont.

  • how much does a laser like that cost?

  • About $1000

  • lol sounds like a bargin

  • did you spend soo much money????

  • :O spooky house :D

  • how many mw?

  • About 237mW CW in this video.

  • Comment removed

  • Can the laser burn at a distance, Or does it have to be close?

  • it has to be close

  • If you use focusing lens (eg a magnifying glass) that thing can burn an object up to 10 meters away :)

  • okay so why do you have these things...

  • lol it looks deadly :D

  • DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS!!!!

  • Why not?

  • It would cause a total protonic reversal. Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

  • yes, have some

  • @DaRkLoRdZoRc lol ghost buster! :P

  • @DaRkLoRdZoRc if some body observed that they would not see it happening omg

  • its a ghostbusters quote

  • fake >:-(

  • LOL!

  • dude that was so safe

  • I got one for 3000$

  • the sad thing is im gonna get a red laser that would light it faster for 45 bucks sucks for u dude its green but shit thats alot of money

  • your full of shit

  • Hmm, The Shining soundtrack?

  • walter/wendy carlos?

  • black cat bottle rockets are fuckn awesome!

  • how much does one of them cost

  • lots of money..either in the $500 dollars place or the $1000 place..

    depending on mw..

  • Where did u gt those NAVY SEALS!

  • what i want is a laser that has a beam and is poweful i dont mean like it can pop things/light things powerful i mean in distance because i want a laiser for airsofting but it needs to go far and i want it to have a beam because they look cool but does anybody know where i could get one ( baring in mind i live in the UK ) And how much they will be ??

  • Remember that if you happen to hit someone in the eye with a green laser it will do permament damage to their eye. Evan a reflection off of something can be harmful. Becareful.(Can you say Lawsuit)

  • where can you buy the diodes from ?

  • Where did you get that laser from ???

  • epic failure!

  • and it's different for ir lasers the higher the nm the better it burns

808nm>473nm if this was in ir version

thats why they sell 400mw 808nm ir laser for only 200bucks and, 1046nm 200mw for 400-500bucks

  • its called a beam of light...learn something about lasers they aren't like "light sabers" they are a constint wave of light the high the power the further it goes 200mw 100+miles

if its 473nm with green it would burn matches at 30mw

  • All lasers diverge at a slight angle. The RPL in this video typically has a divergence of .9mrad (which means the beams diameter will increase by .9mm's per meter that it travels). At 100 miles the beam will be 475 feet in diameter!

    --hydro15

  • It's like a freakin' light saber, how come you can see the line of light?

  • cuz its a light saber...

  • p.s lasers arent light sabers

    plasma is

  • wtf, its not plasma, thats why its called a LIGHT saber not a PLASMA saber

  • you dick lasers are a continues wave they cant just stop at 6 feet

  • mhmm so stop being disputatious about them then.

  • lmao funny way you said it

  • Lol :)

  • hey i got the very first new style looking Rpl a few months age its polished looks great that was your idea great idea

  • hope u not doing that in ur howse lol trowing firecrakers anywere

  • It was shot on a boat and the fireworks are thrown overboard! :-)

  • o ok just whanted to be sure :P

  • This makes me want an RPL now... The new host is sexy.

  • Actually this is the first RPL to look like this. I stripped the paint off as it was wearing down and looking bad. Jack O'Neill liked this and decided to go with the new style. I'm not a big fan of knurling though.

  • I just ordered the RPL-425 look at my video of my RPL-350

  • Cool Video.... How many MW is this Model3 is that 300MW?

  • Yes RPL300 on Level 3 does about 235 when cold and 340 when hot. This was close to the 300 mark when shot. It will run until the batt dies at this level.
