3. Realise it is because they are more at risk for heart disease, suicide, and don't ask for help when they are sick.
4.Realise 'because they work harder' does not appear on any list anywhere for reasons why men die sooner.

@physalia2. DIsagree with you about the heart disease. Breast cancer is a serious problem for women. And its well known fact that women are more emotionally stronger than men.Men are also four times more likely commit suicide over women as well.

@philster61 Heart disease is the biggest cause of death among men where I live, followed by stroke and cancer. It's exactly the same for women (suicide is actually much lower on the list). Not that this conversation I'm having here is in any way a scientific discussion, it's mostly a joke fight. Unless that guy is being serious, in which case I fear for the state of all humanity.

@philster61 No, Australia, but I think we may have the same attitude towards nutrition as Scotland. Suicide is pretty high on the list here, but well after things like stroke and cancer. I'm sure it wavers between regions, I know it's more prevalent here in rural areas. I've read time and again that the disparity in suicide rates between men and women exists because women seek help when they're stressed, men clamp up and tell no one, and the anxiety goes unchecked. It's rather unfortunate.

@physalia2 True, men do tend to bottle up the feelings. But I think its the angst that is caused by pain of heartache. Women these days seem to be less and less caring about mens feeling and emotions.

@philster61 Well that may be true of some individuals, but it is ridiculous to assume that every female is like this. There is absolutely no proof that men are more hurt than women and vice versa, regardless of changing attitudes to womens' rights. There have been studies that prove that men often have less cerebral capacity to process emotions, but even then, that's only in some cases. The hard truth is we're all quite awful to each other. No one's better at it than anyone else.

While I don't believe the intentions of some Asian women are 100% honourable and some definitely want the man for alternative reasons than love, it can't be said of all. And most men love a woman to look after them in the end anyway.

This story is so sad... if you look up Jake Palmer on Google you'll find his myspace page. The asian bride he got ran him a muck! She cost him like $4000 pounds in phone calls and gifts. This woman was legally married to another Englishman so the legal work did not go through and she couldn't get a visa to go back home with Jake. She ended up going off with another Belgian man and told him this over the phone 9 months after they got married... He is now fighting cancer 3 years on.....poor guy.
