John McGeoch introduced a fresh take on guitar and inspired many, as did Hendrix and EVH. Copying others before you is nothing special, bringing in new dimensions and creativity is..Johnny Marr, John McGeoch, Charlie Burchill, The Edge, Robin Guthrie, Dave Gilmore ...now these are real guitar players...

This incarnation of the band was unreal. In 2011 they would have filled arenas if they released Kaleidoscope, Juju and A Kiss in the Dreamhouse and the singles of 1980-1982. Now this just sounds like awesome rock and roll.

McGeoch's guitar sound is timeless from this period.

Then it was mighty odd stuff.

@Knepperify1 totally agree, a lot of people still today do not understan what the punk movement was about. It was not a music genre it was a national movement with a common feeling for distrust for the government, the state of the music industry at the time and it was demonstrated in many ways and flavours. It was an awesome experience that lasted only a few years and gave birth to bands like U2, Simple Minds, to name but two. I miss the days a lot, it inspired many to pick up a guitar
