I love you. You are so eloquent and you make such good points!! I want CB above all. DB is so horrible for the characters. And yes it will be doomed. I hope it amounts to a lot less than some people are thinking.
btw ITA about "doing every pairing possible" and the worst thing is that everytime this happens (randoms hookups) the characters involved end up completely alienated from each other, seriously, I can't remember the last time C/V or C/J had a good scene together (not that I want to see THAT, is just an example) and after 1x10 NB had basically no scenes until 2x19, so if they keep doing this we're gonna end up with completely detached SL's for everyone
Also I get what you mean that they are having everyone hook up....but iv'e seen something between them with there banter since season 1. I feel like it's kind of been built up unlike all the random hookups.
@Deliagrace77 if you were listening, she said their banter has never been sexual. in fact, they banter like SIBLINGS. that's not a build up for hook up. CB's banter pre-hook up had all these hints, 'so this is your bed' 'deflowering' etc etc, so it made sense that they hooked up even after those few episodes. but after 3 seasons of DB's siblingy banter, DB hook up does not make sense.
@Deliagrace77 no offence, but how do you know he would treat her right? just look at the way he treated his BEST FRIEND. if he cheated on his best friend with serena, he'd easily do it to blair as well. just saying ..
You've basically said everything I've been saying. The chemistry between Dan and Blair are simply that they are frenemies and help out the one person they care about: Serena. I don't see them turning romantic and I think it's going to be random.
as always, you seem to read my mind. I really liked your last point--Blair knows what it feels like to have a friend steal your guy. I do not htink she would EVER do that to Serena (who despite this little side-jaunt with Ben), clearly is in love with Dan, and intended to choose him all through this S4 wishi-washiness. Plus, you are so right about the chemistry between them. It's not an animosity charged with sexual tension. I find them very platonic.
OMG!Totally true. I agree with all your points. Plus, I laughed really loud when I talked about Philadelphia Story. On that note, maybe both Blair and Dan like screwball comedy, Blair and Chuck are like Gone with the wind and I wanna see anyone top that ;)
