Fantastic song. You're right - criminally underrated. The lyrics are so powerful, backed by a powerhouse driving bassline and urgent, funky chops. I felt so much hope and exhileration when Living Colour broke through with this in the late 80s.

My band covered this song back in 1990. We did awesome but at the end of the song, the crowd was just staring at us like... wtf? I still love the song though.
