Not complaining, but it's not a teleport between an upper and lower level. It's a portal between the physical realm and the shadow realm. The two concepts are directly analogous, of course, but if, as the raid leader, you use the terms "upstairs" and "downstairs" during the fight, you're going to confuse a lot of people, especially in a pug.

I guess as a person playing a non-tank u didn't realize it but the 3rd mini-boss has an ability called "Cleave Armor" per stack reduces armor by 20% By for is the most important ability that mini boss has, so the tank that is picking up adds and tanking the boss needs to switch out safely at 3 stacks. Best to grab adds and take them to the boss for easy transition.

Not sure if it was posted earlier but if you get within 10 yards (maybe a bit more) of the spheres in the shadow realm it hits for 33k ~ shadow damage in 10 man. We had a healer or two die to it and it took us a minute to figure out.

@kirijnovel it's a custom ui made by kripparrian. you can check his videos for a tutorial how to put it up, he's got a download package with all relevant addons needed as well. i'm using a modified version of his ui and although it's a pain in the ass to configure all addons correctly, it really pays off in the long run because it's much more efficient and much clearer/minimalistic than the standard ui.

About the encounter.

Make sure to bring more than 5-6 healers! My guild has downed him yesterday, and I just want to say that it is better to bring 8-9 healers as Kripparrian says. We have done it with 6 but we wiped ~5 times. The most difficult part is for the downphase tank. The beam is deadly if downphase tank sucks.

not true about the flame breath being "no big deal". as you rotate in twilight avoiding the laser balls, if you get caught in the frontal cone breath, which has retarded high range, you have a very good chance of dieing (at least in 10 man). this is from a rogues perspective, but have had hunters get caught by it as well.
