Ohh My god, before I was able to understand a bit of what you say, But now I really understand many things of what you say, I listen more clearly right now. I have improved my english considerably. :)
very good teacher, it`s my first time in this website and love it... I think that never seen a video or a teacher explaining something like that... for a moment could connect me with him, feeling the classes like a real one... just give thanks and now I`m a fanatic of your classes.
i'm not able to understand what you say , cos you pronounce the words so fastly , and i think that this is the notice of all the beginners , but really your lessons are so rich (^_^)
@alejandrasable it makes sense what you said, but actually in Portuguese the right is to say "touca". Although most people in Brazil, including myself pronounce it like you said "toca". This word comes from the French word "toque" that's a kind of hat. The official language in Quebec is French so it's easy to understand why some Canadians call this hat toque. By the way. I'm from Porto Alegre are you from Montevideo?? :)
hi! i just want to clarify something,in my second year in college i ve got a course about the english origins and the influence of other languages on the english language,it was an interesting lelecture indeed!and my teacher said that"in some ways, american english is more like the english of shakespeare than the modern british english is.Some expressions that the british call "americanism" are in fact original british expressions that were preserved in the colonies while lost in britain
This guy is a good teacher, with a good teaching style.
But in England, 'muggy' simply means humid.
Also, in England (and the rest of the UK) we call the fall 'Autumn'.
IMHO 'Autumn' is the better name for the season - because it cannot mean anything else but Autumn (it has no other definition)... Just as 'Summer' only means summer and 'Winter' only means Winter.
'Fall' is what you do when you jump off a cliff. lool :-)
@MiG2880 Your opinion is insightful. Incidentally, I was taught English by an assistant language teacher who was a young Englishman when I was a high school student.
Thanks :) I like to do my part to keep my country's language alive. I believe it's the only shred of true greatness we have left.
It's such a shame that our beautiful language is being absorbed into 'bastardised' versions of itself - partly due to 'Americanisation' (especially on the internet) and slang terms used by today's youth.
Even people in my own country are losing their literacy skills. Even large companies and local councils now have spelling mistakes on their signs.
Haha! Nice, but you missed out the mix of mist and drizzle, mizzle. But what about Jack Frost?? We pops up his spikey head in spring autumn and winter. ;-)
Fun vid though.
my Canadian friends will be visiting London in July, so I'll send them this vid. I hope they like it.
I've learned new words from this video!! :D after studying in language schools and in college and academy after 18 years, and I've been to america, I've never heard of some words like "muggy and drizzle and brisk :)
Thanks a lot James for your interesting videos!! your method is cool and simple.
I am studding English. I am dreaming to be such talented teacher. It is not the most important but it is necessary to have a lot of vocabulary. So than your presentation can flow flawlessly. We do not have chance in Latvia to practice English speaking.

Here's another summer word: Stank! (not past tense of stink)
E.g. Summer in Windsor, Ontario--which is actually south of Detroit, Michigan--is stank hot.
