Well I think I was just viewer number 10,000 and thumb number 70! Great video. Adored Robert Calvert, he was a genius and an inspiration. Just watched a couple of your vids Heidi, great work.
I've never heard this version-I have 'Freq', but not 'Hype.' I have to say I like the version with Hawkwind that was included as a bonus track on the 'PXR5' CD much better. Anyone out there have that one??
The best lyricist since Syd Barrett, Waht a fucking performer too. Saw him several times, all stunning espec. Hammersmith Clarendon supported by the Cardiacs...
Unforgettable, you had to be there. Magic I miss him.
@hothaggis1 Yes: MAGIC. I think Robert would have embraced the Youtube thing - he was very interested in technology and the way it can be used for both good and bad. Sorely missed by lots of us.
You made it? Ah, I thought I remembered seeing it on Max Headroom in the mid 80s. Obviously not, although I'm sure I've heard the track before. It's a really good video, you know. I thought it was a professional job!
The first track i've ever heard by this artist, the video was good as well. Im a bit tired at the moment but as soon as I get up tommorrow/later today I will be checking out more of his work as well as your other videos.
Well, I guess that depends on how you define a Hawkwind song. Robert wrote the song and suggested it, along with many others, to the band back in the late seventies. They recorded it but then decided it wasn't good enough for inclusion on an album. Robert obviously knew the song's true potential, coz he recorded his own version for Hype, and you can hear the results here. Ultimately, it's a Calvert song which Hawkwind recorded, like Steppenwolf and many others.
I still love watching this. I recently heard the Hawkwind version from the 70's when Bob was the front man. It was an extra track on the PXR-5 Cherry Red recent release. Never heard it before so was a great bonus extra. This version is really good too and I love the video. Nice one!
thanks from a calvert fan, very lucky to see atom henge, and have great picture to show him dressed up as a arabian sword stage stabber and jack of shadows and lots more-cheers from a fan

What would he be up to now, huh?
I made this film in October 2008 - stayed up all night to make sure it was on-line for Halloween.

Bob Calvert, the greatest musician ever to pass through Hawkwind. This man was way, way ahead of his time.

This shows up on the remastered QS&C CD. Was this originally a Hawkwind song? This is a much better version than the one that appears on QS&C!
