Can anybody tell me who the main guitar player was in this recording? He's very unique, at least his tone. It has GOT to be him on a lot of my Major Lance tunes, and probably Curtis Mayfield and man others.
This is the dance that sprung the Capitol's hit song.... "Cool Jerk"....which is bad-ass too..."cuz they know I'm a KING of the COO-OOL JERK......WHEW!"
I was searching for info on Charlie in the group (on the right). I was a kid in his uncle's church (the late Pastor Wesley) when they got their first break with this song. Charlie, sang in the young adult choir and I in the children's choir...lol!! His sis Hedy Jean, was the director and still goes to that church. I had a crush on him...he was so-o-o cute and cool...lol! Precious memories. I am sure he does not remember the kid always staring at him...lol!!! Thanks for the trip dn memory lane.
too funny... memories... 1964 and i'm listening to my older sister blasting her 45 record of this and dancing like crazy telling me 'come on man get up and work it!'
Loved it That was my first time ever seeing the group perform it. Thanks for sharing.I just recently started using utube. This stuff is fantastic I can reminisce for hours.

I have heard MANY records that mention this dance, but always wanted to see a video how the dance was done--thanks!
