  • @jdubexpert Actually Q-Tip produced this joint. He was talking about how he wanted to use it but Phife called dibs on it and a good thing he did too.

  • Young And Fine by Weather Report is the sample. It is the first few bars of the song they used to make this masterpiece.

  • 'Gentle smiles' on my face whilst listening to this

  • i do like butter..

  • Amazing instrumental...very nice track altogether.

  • Phife always comes hard -3

  • My last comment was referring to @quisit4ya

  • @quidit4ya, You are totally wrong. And for everyone sayin Q-Tip did all the work, you're wrong too...

First off Dilla did nothing on their first three records... In fact I don't even think Tip had met him yet...

Second, the first three albums were a calaboration between Tip and Shaheed. I remember hearing in an interview that their work ethic was "Q-Tip do a track, Ali do a track" so on and so forth. Everything was just credited as "A Tribe Called Quest@

Third, Dilla didn't do all the work on

  • all i can think about is my ps3, me i feel like playin games - infamous the name killin enemies, choosin good or bad changin my legacy, i gotta win like supremecy - you cant kill me i respawn at the nursery, jumpin off buildin tops dropin with bolts of lightnin, wit bad karma people find you frightenin, bad looks choose to leave em electrifying - or cying for the family i could heal - or i could deal for the reapas, but enough i wana paly the game seeya

  • @999qqoopo WACK.

  • @Italblessings dont like wat i write wen im riped fuck off lol

  • just make me remind of NYC

  • My heart melts when the sax comes in

  • This is real hip-hop.

  • Q-Tip was a beast on those tracks.

  • its like blutter

  • dope album cover NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i thought shaheed was using a Sp1200 :[[[[

  • still bangin man

  • i can not believe that when j.dilla died i had NO idea who he was...and now to find out he was the man that made just about every song i love!

  • Love the part at 1:39.

  • LOVE IT

  • love the silent gaps in the tune it makes the instrumental sound better

  • Genius Mc's

  • Classic

  • You Know I Like It When You Say Play It Saxy For Me.

  • one of best beats ever made.

  • How is it 17 years later this shit is still better than most shit coming out now? Crazy! Q-Tip did his thing production wise and Phife made it a classic

  • @SparksMentalz don't forget ali shaheed... he produced the whole albums with tip before they hooked up with dilla...

  • @nojusticenoweed Nah Q-Tip produced the 1st 3 albums but put 'produced by Tribe Called Quest' so they could all benefit from, he said so himself and so did Phife in various interviews, but nevertheless their music is timeless

  • @SparksMentalz ah really...i thought ali produced tracks too for atcq..thats wired because he is not a bad producer..but if u say so..

  • @SparksMentalz j dilla was there main producer for the first two albums

  • @quisit4ya Q-Tip did most of the production on Tribe's 1st two albums but credited it 'produced by Tribe Called Quest' so they could all benefit from it. They all went crate digging and decided what samples would sound good together but Q-Tip laid everything down. He said so himself in an interview a while back. Dilla came on the scene after the Midinight album.

  • @SparksMentalz TELL THESE CATS. :)) LONG LIVE Q TIP

  • @SparksMentalz Actually, Ali Shaheed Muhammad did most of the production up until beat, rhymes, and life. That's when jay dee came along and Shaheed, Q-Tip, and Dilla formed the Umma and made it a production team.

  • @darkwingdoom how u gonna say this, when sparksmentalz already told the truth? did you ask ALI or where did you read that?

  • @quisit4ya Phife also said the same thing in a recent interview when he was talking about the beefs him and Q-Tip had before the break up.

  • @quisit4ya No ur wrong. q-tip produced the first three albums. q-tip didn't even know j-dilla existed until they met in 1994

  • @SparksMentalz better than all shit comming out now

  • @TRC931 Co-sign 2 da fullest

  • @SparksMentalz Ali Shaheed Muhammad was their producer. But Tip did have a hand in a lot of tracks.

  • @lowkee92 no tip produced all of it ali shaheed had his hand in some of them he said it in a bunch of interviews

  • @youngcnillzof9th if you look on the back of this album it says DJ/Producer is Ali Shaheed Muhammad .. however on other albums, such as People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, The Love Movement, and Beats, Rhyme, and Life Q-Tip had a major part in producing.

  • @lowkee92 yea tip gave shaheed credit but he really produced the beats as well as the mobb deep shit, one love and others

  • @youngcnillzof9th qtip produced for mobb deep?? damn, all that was good about them was their beats so if they didnt even do that then wow they were really no good.

  • @KnowledgeAccumulated come on prodigy is a great rapper but tip only did drink away the pain, tempatures rising, and give up the goods, havoc did everything else on their first album.

  • @SparksMentalz One of my favorite tracks of all time. So smooth. It's sad the crap that's getting air.

  • @SparksMentalz hip hop needs to be on some dubstep shit and its not cause they all about making money. they stop trying to out do the past. hell if i was a mc i would be trying to rap in 15 different languages on one song. haha and for that reason alone i will be an mc.

  • @MrCalculus999 Lol, nah man. Dubstep is white noise on wax imo. Augmented sounds made to form unorthodox melodies that would normally be rejected by the human ear.

Ever since Run-D.M.C. 'Walk This Way' came out, everyone wants to mesh hip hop with crap. We need to preserve our culture and keep it intact. Bad enough you have homo new school 'pop-hop' metaphor rappers complaining about the 'haters' and stress with being 'paid'. Let's leave this real shit the way it is.

  • @SparksMentalz man get out here they take chances this music is safe nobody takes chances any more. you should have niggas trying to out rap nas. nas try to out rap rakim and damn near 15 years later you got clowns and can't even touch the lyric level he was on its sad.
