I recently was looking for a travel pc. I am not a business user but a heavy computer user in general. It came down to the Ipad and this little sleek bastard. I love my macbook pro as a main computer as OS is simply marvelous. But the Ipad was lacking in so many ways as a computing device. This computer won hands down. So God Damn sexy and fast and fun to use, I take this with me every where I travel now. Takes up no space and weighs nothing. Battery life and price are big cons.

This is so cute! very nice looking, but it runs the awful Windows os especially Vista. Apple's new iPad is some what limited, but I'm sure i could over come that with all the thing's that Apple offers and end up loving it with in the first week. I simply wont over come the fact that this good idea of a product runs Windows and who ever had used Windows Vista knows how bad it is, this, besides Windows in general.

For me, ease of use and reliability and quality wins me over this cute Sony.

Been needing a mobile device. I have a top of the line smartphone (Droid!), and a nice desktop.

Was looking at fancy UMPCs, but since their screens were 5 inches I figured that would be barely better than my phone for $500.

Netbooks also didn't appeal because, well, they weren't anything special. I love fancy products, and this has a better form factor and great features.

Where can I find a 1.86 GHz version? $500-600 used on ebay is reasonable, but I can't find any.

It's worth buying a Vaio VGN P. The keyboard is comfortable, it's light, practical, handy and the screen is not SO small... if you use it just as a second computer, it's perfect. But if you're looking for a work machine, buy an ordinary laptop or a desktop.

installed automatic updates.

many things works straight out of the box, 1600x768, wifi, eth, wlan, bluetooth, fn vol, fn brightness (much much easier than windows)

youtube > 480p no problem windowed mode

hdvideo > 720p no problem fullscreen :-)

the ubuntu interface is very beautifull!

The only problem is that there are only 3 resolutions in the resolution settings (800x600 , 1024x768 and 1600x768)

Increasing the DPI helps a bit though

This is an Ultra Portable Laptop. There is no Ultra Portable with a CD Drive. Your a Dumb ass for asking one. The P series shines in portability. I can fit in the pocket of my jeans. Plus if you want a CD or DVD Drive you can always plug an mini external DVD drive through USB. This laptop is not cheap, But it you have the money, Buy the 2GHZ version with Windows 7.
