I use SnS too. I'm just wondering if you knew that you could still use items even when your Sword is unsheathed :| just hold R + square. It's useful if you want to block an attack and throw a flashbang afterwards

@m16armeggedon That is normal. It is kind of a random quest that pops up. Most people save it for the end since the forst edge is one of the only weapons that is practical for the quest.

I LOVE his look, he has been my favorite looking creature since the very first monster hunter for ps2 XD But I HATE how much of a pansy he is. He runs away all the time and many times (if he successfully escapes) lands in the worst areas to fight, and just chills... lol. He can be a real ass sometimes.

@fireb00m808 It was hard for me too. It took me two tries to kill it but the third time was just luck. I know MoisesL is very skilled at this game, But it seems when I watch this video the Rathalos is fighting as easy as it can compared to when I fight it. Anyways, You'll get it soon enough.

@MaRcKsCo go from s/w upgrad it till it ses assassins blade keep upgrading it adn it will say u can ether upgrade to poision battle axe or to duil blades but befor u do that u need a piosion sack and rubbery hide and something els rill easy to find ok but u can get rubbery hide from the gypercrose and the piosion sack i have no clue cus i need help on that too lol hahaha

That was very smart of you to use tainted meat, your fighting style is very unusual, but I like it because you could evade attacks easily. I should try your stylee of fighting him, I have never thought of using the meat.

Although fighting it in number 10 is not a very good Idea because there are many bushes and it's hard to see.

@Persegan i have a very easy way to defeat all monsters and they cant escape u must hav flash bomb throw it at him he'll blind then attack him till he dies , if the flashing goes away throw another 1

If you don't know how to make them, just combine trap tool and net, to make net combine ivy and spiderweb.

Did you know in Area 5 every1 knows that there's velociprey inside but even though u killed them all they'll spawn again.

@d00m283 you can get them from gypceros but i recommend taking a velociprey set to fight him so his flash doesnt stun you.

Also take antidotes (antidote herb sold by the vendor in town and blue mushroom)

I recommend using a serpentblade or some such because its easier to hit his tail.

@hayuku Bring blue mushrooms to combine with the herbs to make potions. Then bring honey to combine those potions and turn them into mega potions You might want to bring some book of combos.

tips for killing rathalos

1 use pitfall traps and lots of large barell bombs use small barrel bombs to blow it up[carry spiderwebs,ivy,nitroshooms,fir­eherbs and large barrels]

2 cut of his tail fast so he can,t use tailswipe

3cut of the horns on his head

4 when in need of recovery or sharpening trow a flash bomb

5 kill all the other monsters in the area so they dont harm you whil fiting rath[especialy velociprey

even without his tail he can still use the tail swipe its range is just slightly less and he can use his aerial tail slash poisoning move

When your fighting rath in zone 10 with the lake and the tan colored cats ignore them they respawn infinity

@96Rockman1 ok just so you know your defense goes way down when you use a greatsword (i learned this by fighting the akantor) so i will suggest you use a dual blade for their speed if not use a long sword but if you do use a long sword strike his face and the tail the most then the quest will be like taking candy from a baby :)

ok rule one with a greatsword is dont combo unless its in a trap, stunned or asleep or something.

Just use the unsheathing attack on his head roll away and when he starts to turn fast hes about to charge (always) if he turns slowly hes either going to shoot a fireball giving you an opening or fly in a leaping fashion and landing kind of far away.

Your best bet is to run with him in the direction he charges beside him and hit his tail then.

@timmay5431 ok try this , flashbomb him and try and do as much damage as you can on him , aim for the head ,and umm try the tattic of hit and run get like 2 or 1 hit in and then run around and then 1-2 hit and run , take your time you get 30 minutes after all gl oh and aim for the head

@TYPisch2010atyoutb Erm just keep fighting him. You have to hit him loads and it'll often take a few attempts but if you damage him in one attempt then quit the mission, you can start a new mission and keep damaging him from where you left off.

I think because a water or dragon weapons a bit harder to get then the poison battleaxe and if you manage to poison him his constant flying isnt bad since hes constantly taking damage.
