Nicholas de Vere and i urge people to please read this for free in google books pg 60, i would put the URL up, but stupid youtube says "error, try again" so plz just read it, itsn't long, esp. for a person who likes to know about fairies or even E'ireann history in general

has anyone heard about the fairies origin being linked to the ancient Iranic tribe known as Saga(Scythians)? it is from a book called the Dragon's Legacy and that the Saga were known as the fairies in Ireland with the Picts following them. Essentially that is were Pixies come from since its a mix of Saga and the Picts, and that Saga were spelled Sithian in 16th century England which is related to many different variation of Saga (Iranian which i believe means dogs) ranging from Eire - N.India
celtic universalism, diadadh tha eugsamlachd (divinity is diversity!), the true history of the celts remains a mystery, and cannot be told by conventional means! for every tao there is a rainbow, and for every rainbow a tao!
@phildawg200 exactly!! my favorite movie as a kid, cried EVERY single time! I had a CD with Christmas songs that had this one in and it's called "Walking in the Air".
@Desktopobserver no it's not from nightwish. They have only done a cover for it, which isn't bad, but nothing compared to the original one (although i am a fan of nightwish). The original one is by Aled Jones and it goes back to somewhere around 1985 if I'm correct, and it's from the movie "The Snowman".
@Maholix that's an excellent reply--especially since she has six blood aunts and only two blood uncles! We'll work our way into the answer during tomorrow's trip to the Sauratown mountains
Beautiful. One thing though...I showed this to my daughter (10) and she asked where the boy fairies were. We're still trying to work that one out between us. Suggestions?
If someone asked me this, I would say that the boy fairies are less common among the fairy folk, and thus, not often as well known. That they protect the girl fairies in quiet ways, and among the good fairy, this is a duty that is taken very seriously, so they try to remain unnoticed till they are needed.
Fairies are a shy, sensitive kind of people, and this true for the guy fairies as well, but if you watch very carefully, you may notice them.. if you know how to look.
no matter who fron Celtic Woman sings, the outcome is always something beyond beauty. but this song is really something else. the composition of the orcestra, chloe's voice, the melody, and yes those pictures, is amazing. this is what angels must sound like
The version from Nightwish is also a cover, you know ;) The original version appeared in the film "The Snowman". Later the single you could buy was sung by Aled Jones.
I don't find anyone has made this connection, but this is the song they used in the animated short "The Snowman". Its a very old animated short, no dialogue, just music. The short is very beautiful and this song just added to the magic. Now I finally know the name of the song. And so wonderfully done ^w^
i see rivers, i see glowing plants in the night, i see glowing fairies flying around me in the sweet peaceful darkness of the woods, i hear music that helps me become focused and makes me feel peace, what a sweet drug is your sound
love this video so much...love those creatures like fairies, and unicorn. though i only met them in my very wild and deep imagination, seems they're real. ...what is the title of the song?
@ColdRiceBall it's just that that's where that song comes from... or at least that's the first place I heard it, when i was a little girl watching the snowman... Basically the movie is beautiful, the song is amazing... Celtic Women aren't my favorite, but they do this song well
@DJWalton314 I wasn't really a fan of fairies until I looked into their history. Yes, they are deliciously morbid creatures; like Mermaids and Sirens, but they did more than just steal babies. They, like humans, were said capable of many feats, good and bad.

Before the modern age fantasy books, Fairies were a bad thing.
You dont have to believe me, look a all the mythologies. Fairies were human size creatures that stole babys.
