ya probastes el 8.04?..yo estoy recien iniciandome en linux instale mandriva y se me me ha quedado pegado unas 3 veces..asique ahora voy por ubuntu :)..para los efectos hay que instalar algo aparte? el llamado KDE??

si es mozila, pero la verdad yo prefiero usar Opera, me parece MUCHO mas veloz, y mejor en todo sentido.

Es una compu normal, core2duo e6300 sin overclock y con 1Gb de memoria, y encima esta que funciona que el video que me vino integrado en la placa intel, asi que imaginate, peor que una geforce 6200 '-.- y aun asi con esa tarjeta de video, corren bastante bien los efectos.

Hace unos días ha salido la nueva versión de ubuntu por si la quieres probar. Yo aún no lo hago. Salu2.

Hola!, por si acaso ya ha salido, hace unos dias, la nueva versión de este sistema operativo. Si deseas lo puedes descargar de la pagina oficial en español para que lo pruebes. Yo aun no lo he probado pero parece que tiene muchas mejoras xD. Cuidate.

Yes, it only runs on lynux, u can make a new partition and install it in there,

u can download it, for free, from the ubuntu home page.

Maybe u have to install the new intel drivers.

make a copy of the xorg.conf file.

1. Open the console and install the package:

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

2. If we already have installed the 915resolution, we uninstall it:

sudo apt-get remove 915resolution

3. Then we write the command:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

-Now, we have to choose the driver "intel" instead of the "i810" driver, then we choose our resolution

Reboot the X

i get this problem when i reboot "Failed to start the x server (your graphical interface). It is likley that it is not set up correctly. would you like to view the x server output to diagnose the problem?"

I had that problem, once, too. If u don't know how to repair it you write sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg and choose your previous driver, I think it is "i810" or maybe VESA, and choose your resolution and reboot. then, when u're on the graphical interface, u could replace the xorg copy u have made before.

The truth is I'm using linux just since two mounths ago
