  • Love the video. You were very clear and concise which made it very easy to follow. Thanks for sharing.

  • THANKS 4SHARING SO UNSELFISHLY !!!!

  • @beautyG18 Thank you so much for viewing and commenting!

  • Love it. I had to save this to my list of dread care cuz this is supposed to be the easiest method yet. My sister whom has never done this before says she learned a lot in the few minutes u was on camera. Thanx for this tutorial!!!👍🔥👍

  • @4got10prelude Wow! Thanks so much!

  • Thanks so much for the tutorial. It was very clear, and easy to follow.

  • @kcat200 Thank you so much for viewing and commenting!

  • Her hair looks great!!

  • @mrskinton Thanks so much!

  • Hey,I'm not sure if you answered this already, but what is the name brand of the comb?

  • @Nubiansmiles The name brand fo the combs is Calypso. Thanks for asking!

  • @MsRosieVelt Thanks :), I tried this on my boy friend, but it did not come out too well. For some reason, the roots just would not coil up no matter what i did.

  • This is one of the best tutorials... good job!!! now I properly know how to do them thanks a lot

  • @naturallybeauty1 Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy your twists!

  • My question is....how long does this lock up?

  • @J90lude I'm not quite sure how long it will take to lock up. Sorry. She kept the style for a few weeks before washing out.

  • I so love this! Thanks so much for helping me out b/c I'm in the process of figuring out how to do comb twists. As of now, I have a twa and after so long, I get bored and I'm only 2 months natural since my BC! Thanks again!!

  • @pinkaboo6787 Congrats on your BC!! This is a great style to keep you from getting bored! Let me know how it turns out for you and thank you so much for subscribing to my channel!

  • I should've looked this up yesterday. I just twisted my friend's hair using the comb twist. His hair is extremely soft, and we bought some cream that didn't hold well. I know what to do next time though. Great video!

  • @trublacklove Thanks so much! Glad that I could help you!

  • Hi. Love the video. My son has the same texture of hair as your daughter. I tried to coil his hair, and just to happens to have the same kind of Gel you used in the video, but i got looser coils! How do you keep the coils from slippin out the comb prematurely?

  • @kouala1 You may need to twist a little slower and hold the twist all the way down until you're done twisting. Then use a clamp to hold the twists in place until somewhat dry. Thanks so much.

  • Really well done - easy to follow - Thank you very much- I will attempt also in next couple of days

  • @kdanhen Thanks so much! I'm sure your style will be nice!

  • Great Tutorial!!! Thanks!! Posting it to my facebook

  • @csarlow Thanks so much!

  • Great tutorial! I have unsuccessfully tried to do it with the small comb several times before. This urges me to try again!

  • @wundertwns Thanks so much! Try again and hopefully you'll get it this time around!

  • yeah this is a great tutorial..I have tried this so many times but they are never tight like id like them to be..will keep practicing though..thanks so much you did a great job..

  • @kauisha Thanks so much. If you're using a comb, then start twisting as close to the scalp as possible. If you're using your fingers, then just keep twisting until the root gets tight.

  • Thank you so much for sharing. I am going to try this over the weekend. How long does it last?

  • @margomyles I hope your style turned out nice. The style can last 3 to 4 weeks. Its just according to how well you maintain it at night!

  • Good job. I have some combs like that, but never knew how to use them. Now I know. I will practice on my Daughter's hair next time.☺ Thanks for this video.☺

  • @happydimples39 I'm so glad I was able to help you figure those combs out! I hope your daughter hair turns out nicely!

  • I've been finger/comb twisting my hair for a couple months every week when I shampoo. I love it! it's time consuming and hard to do on your own head, but worth it... I FINALLY have growth!!!!! GREAT VID!

  • @hellocrystal01 Thanks so much! I think this is a nice protective/low manipulation style for a twa. Just twist it and go.

  • *presses +Subscribe* The presentation was awesome! You could do a tuturial on how to properly talk to the camera, public speaking, camera angles, etc. :^) #NaturalHair #TeamNatural

  • @qtpiea4u Thanks so much! You are really making me blush!

  • This has to be one of the best tutorials I have ever seen on youtube! Very detailed...very clear...speaking is great...video quality is excellent! Great Job! I'm going to look at the rest of your videos now! #TeamNatural!

  • @peachbeach89 Wow! Thanks so much!

  • Love It....You make it seem so easy. I will attempt this tomorrow.

  • @MzTru33 Thanks so much! it is really easy, just takes a little time.

  • I absolutely Love this video!! It is so informative, and you gave us options! Thanks so much for posting this! As soon as I get what I need I'm gonna start my twists.... The gold comb u used, is it a specific type of comb?? and where did u get it from??

  • @laydik21 Thanks so much! The comb is called a twisting comb, you should be able to find it at a beauty supply store.

  • I love the detail and time you put into this video. This is great for naturals who have never tried this before! I'll be using your tips to style a friend's hair tomorrow. :)

  • @1234wrwr4 Thanks so much! I really appreciate your comment! I hope you friend's hair turns out nicely!

  • Thanks for the tutorial...I needed the help. I'm working on my twist now.

  • @Egypt22 Great! I hope they turn out nice! Thanks for viewing and commenting!

  • Where did u get those combs from?

  • @soiceygameboy I got the combs from the beauty supply store for $1 or 2 I think,

  • I HAVE A QUESTION.... CAN I STILL GET COMB TWIST USING HONEY AND BEESWAX EVEN THO I TEXTURIZED MY HAIR? I PROCESSED MY HAIR JUST TO LOOSIN IT AND ITS ABOUT SHOULDER LENGTH. WHEN I WASH IT IT COILS BACK UP SOME SO IM GUESSIN I CAN STILL GET COMB TWIST BCUZ WHEN IT DRIES ITS HELL TO COMB THRU. PLEASE LET ME KNOW

  • @L3monH3ad89 I would think that as long as your hair coil up then you should be able to do the twists. If you try the twists let me know if it works out!

  • @MsRosieVelt IVE DECIDED TO DO THE BRAIDLOCS INSTEAD BUT I DO APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE. ILL STILL USE YOUR METHOD THO FOR RETWIST!

  • Excellent!I actually learned out to do it finally, thank you so much.

  • @royalcoils100 Thank you so much!! I'm glad you got it!

  • Love this video.. Thank you so much!! I have not been able to get my coils to look like that until now..

  • @ladyampowell Thanks so much. I'm so glad that I was able to help you!

  • @MsRosieVelt would this be a good protective style for my son

  • @boysandgirlsnatural This is an awesome low manipulation style. To be a protective style the ends would have to be covered. Let me know if this answers your question.

  • Now this is direct and simple. Just what I need. I see why it took you so long. You used very, very small sections. Great job.

  • @CharliGirl868 Thanks so much! Glad I was able to help you out!

  • Bout time I found a simple direct way to do this style! Great vid. "^_^"

  • @brownsugalove23 Thanks so much! This is a super simple style. Just takes a little patience.

  • Thank you for making this video. It is easy to follow, especially for a beginner like me and I shall begin my first coiling this evening. Favorite.

  • @LovelyLadyLis I'm so glad that I was able to help you! Thanks so much for viewing!

  • wow love this, I'll be sharing this video ;-)

  • @KinkyStyles1980 Thanks so much! Please share with anyone you like!

  • MsRosieVelt, Wow her hair looks so nice...I'm sitting under the dryer right now looking at this tutorial.. I just attempted to do coils and wish I has seen this video first, I wish i could take mind down and start again and use one of the methods you used in the video and maybe mine would have turned out better. Your tutorials are the best..

  • @essentials4you I'm sure your hair looks great, just the way it is and you can always try one of these methods next time. Thanks so much!

  • I love your video! It's clear and simple. I see what your doing and now understand exactly how it's done. I'm gonna do it on my 2 year old girl. I do not wanna relax her hair! So this gives me other options. Those twists look good. Thanks for sharing this video!

  • @yummymissydotcom Thanks so much! I wish I knew all the different options when my daughter was 2. I wouldn't have permed her hair. But when you know better you do better.

  • Where Can I Find That Comb??

  • @Ashbolive2010 I purchased the comb from my local beauty supply store.

  • Can you use this method to get some dreds started?

  • @Mommy2AceAly Yes you can start dreads using these methods. Just keep retwisting the root as the hair grows out.

  • Thanks so much, trying this out on my moms hair today :) She's been asking for this and your tutorial was the best :)

  • @Jadison03 Wow! Thanks so much. I really like your videos too. I'm one of your subscribers!

  • great job!

  • @bleedgreen533 Thanks!

  • How long will this style last?

  • @1967nita She wore this style for a month. Thanks for asking.

  • Great video I started my sons locs off like that! And I'm almost 4 months natural I plan on trying out some coils and my hair is prolly close to tht length as your daughter at this time

  • @makeda2010able Thanks. Are you going to let your hair loc?

  • Is her hair wet or dry? I tried it myself but I might need to make the parts smaller.

  • @KuroiTenshi18 Her hair was freshly washed but it dries out while I'm twisting. When the hair starts drying out, I'll mist it with water and leave in conditioner. Hope this helps.

  • WHERE IS YOUR SHOP AT?

  • @robert2012superstar I don't have a shop. Just my bathroom and kitchen. Lol. I'm glad that you like.

  • @KingSavage713 I part from side to side and then make small parts to section off the hair for the twist. Hope this helps.

  • These twist are so neat it's just perfection it's the best have seen.. ....

  • @queeny107 Wow! Thanks so much!

  • OMG!!! I knew u looked familiar.. i was like geese why does she look like Jazzy Beats mom??? lol.. hahahaha and there goes Jazzy beats in your video as your daughter lol

  • @MsFabulousB LOL Girl, yes I'm momma beatz! LOL Did you go to school with Jazz? Thanks so much for viewing and subscribing to my channel!

  • @MsRosieVelt lol... Yes i did we had speech class together at TCC.

  • do you have ti use ampro clear ice

  • @rjmoney24 No, you don't have to use Ampro, you can use whatever type of holding product that you like!

  • @MsRosieVelt

Gosh I wish I lived in your State. You are so gifted. Thank you for your detailed videos.

  • @Broomfield456 Thanks so much for viewing! It's not hard to do and I'm sure you can do it yourself without having to move to Florida! LOL

  • great job, i hope one day i can be able to twist like u. this morning i tried the finger and comb twist but it fail my type of hair is 4 only i dont know whether is 4b or c. i did my big chop three days ago do am newly natural my last relax was march this year.

  • @ceci4887 Twisting is very simple to do. Make sure your hair is well saturated with whatever you are using to twist, run a rat tail comb down your hair to smooth the ends and then twist the hair around with your fingers. Don't give up. Try it again. ok. If your hair is unraveling after you twist, then you might need some hair clips until it dries a little. Let me know if you try again.

  • I found your comb twist demo very easy to follow. Thanks

  • @anngeebe Thanks so much!

  • This is the best tutorial I have ever seen. The clarity was great and the sound was great. Of course your instruction was superb. Thanks for posting and please post others

  • @daniels2910 Thanks so much for the wonderful comments!

  • You did an excellent tutorial video!!!!!!

  • @Tifebe Thanks so much!

  • Nice, you took your time. Lol I couldn't sit that long in a chair

  • @enuffced777 Thanks so much! It did take a lot of time and that chair will surely become your best friend. LOL

  • This is a great tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing.

  • @naturalchemellis Thank you for viewing and commenting!

  • This was by far the best video I've seen.....I have been searching for days on how to do the finger coil technique and you did three that I can use...ill be trying them on my sons hair tomorrow I hope I get good results btw I loved your video presence

  • @Bossladylynn WOW! Thanks so much! I'm glad I was able to help you! Let me know how your son's hair look after you do it!

  • You did an amazing job. I appreciate your tips as I'm going to do this style for the very first time. Again thank you so much .!!;)

  • @dee309s Thank you so much for viewing and I'm really glad that I was able to help you out!

  • Great vid! It turned out cute!

  • @NaturalBri23 Thanks so much!!

  • @SuperRedhot28 I really think it only works for natural hair because the relaxed ends aren't going to coil up just so. But I don't know for sure, do a couple of practice twists and then let me know!

  • how many months had your daughter grown her hair out when u did this video ?

  • @Knowjoke I think two and a half months or so.

  • Great video! Clear and concise explanations.

  • @bthorne7 Thanks so much!

  • Praise God for you...of all the videos I watched on how to do this yours is the best. My hair is natural and have been for 3 years. I just took my braids out and want to wear my natural hair out so that it can grow even faster. I am having a hard time dealing with what to do with my hair. I seen the coils and like this style so I pray I can do it. It's feminine and chic.

  • @Lyric442 Wow! Thanks. I'm glad I could help you out.Let me know how it turns out for you. The coils are very simple to do.

  • EXCELLENT JOB!!

  • do you know how many tesit wer done on this head?

  • i dont have a comb similiar to the gold one but i wanted to do the comb technique to coil my hair. can i use a rat tail comb to do the same comb technique?

  • @Shanny9140 Yes, a rat tail comb will be fine to use for comb twists. The comb I used have shorter teeth and are great for catching really short hair.

  • I just found your channel, love your talent.

  • @blueottlisa Wow! Thanks! Glad you stumbled upon my channel.

  • This is a real good video, thanks Ms.RosieVelt:-)

  • @DestinyReleased Thank you so much for viewing.

  • Thank you for sharing the tutorial!! I was wondering will the coils lock up? I don't want that to happen. Also, can I achieve the coils without doing the BC? Thanks for your input!!

  • @kekambas79 Thank you for viewing. The coils will loc up if you don't remove the twists. Its pretty much how a lot of people start their locs. If you are totally natural then you shouldn't have a problem coiling your hair. Hope your hair coils turns out nice!!

  • I thank you so much for sharing this video with me, I needed someone to show me how to do it with a TWA and you broke it down for me very nicely and step by step. Now does your daughter ever take her coil set out? b/c thats what I'm going for next is a coil out, but my coil out keeps turn out to be bushy/ frizzy. Do you have any tips for me?

  • @motherof2kids2k6 Thanks for viewing! My daughter will wear the coils for about a month and then we wash, detangle and re-twist her hair. She doesn't usually go with the coil outs. YouTuber, Toliahli, has some great twa coil out videos. Check her out and maybe you can find your answer from her. Hope this helps!

  • Beautiful!! I can not wait until my hair is thick enough to coil. Thank you for sharing. :)

  • @MedAsstVera Thank you for viewing! This style is really simple and you should be able to do it soon!

  • i like this good j.o.b

  • @olschool27 Thanks so much!!

  • I'm a beginner and watching your video has made it very easy thanx Ms. Rosie !

  • @marcelette1967 Thanks. I'm really glad that I cold help you out!

  • fabulous job i love it

  • @wildam30 Thanks so much!!!

  • How long did this entire process take ?

  • @BlaccBoii It took over 5 hours. I think it took that long because we were recording and I was taking care of my other kids too.

  • Where are y located how much u charge

  • @puktuk11 LOL. I'm sorry but I really don't do hair. But thanks for the confidence in my work.

  • very good job mami thanks for sharing

  • @dkblck1958 Thank you for viewing and commenting!

  • Great job Ms. Rosie! This is one of the best tutorials I have seen so far. Excellent work.

  • @reddsofine1 Wow! Thanks so much. I try my very best to do a good job!

  • This is such a helpful video! My mom has been begging me to earn how to do these coils for eons! I do have a question though, my mom has very fine 3c/4a hair do you think the coils would stay put?

  • @BritainGirl36 The coils don't really stay put in my hair for long, I have 3b/c hair. You can also use hair clamps to hold the hair in place until the hair is completly dry, that'll keep it in place for a while.

  • Thank you so much for this video. I always wondered how to do coils. I can't wait to try them on my own hair.

  • @scp310 No problem. Thank you for viewing and commenting.

  • wow this is such a good way to show us, Thanks!

  • @Tomikagetsfit2011 No problem. Glad you liked it!

  • wow thisis such a good way to show us, Thanks!

  • thx for posting this video, it''s been of a great help to me..i've started finger coiling my hair ever since...i tried the same Ampro Clear Ice gel on slightly damp hair, by the time i was finished my hair had white flakes from the gel...did i do something wrong??? Please HELP :(

  • @spoiledwifeP the only thing I did differently from you is use a leave in conditioner and water mixture to coat the hair from the gel and keep the hair nice and moist as you twist.

  • o and by the way i love ur nails! do u use a base?? if so what kind cuz my nails always chip the next day

  • @12KBROWN Thanks girl!!! I've been using Orly products on my nails for the past 2 months and they are really showing improvement. I'm doing a video on the products and it should be up soon.

  • i'm glad u explained because I wanted to do my hair like this for a long time! I will do it soon!

  • @12KBROWN Let me know how it turns out!!! I'm sure it will be beautiful on you!

  • beautiful!

  • @SaleanaC Thanks!!!

  • Love your video. :-)

  • @rhondala1 I'm glad you like!!!

  • You did a beautiful job on her hair MsRosie, it looks so good on her. :)

  • @MsDeeShantel Thanks a bunch!!!

  • flocka

  • Excellent job!! It looks great. My daughter recently did the big chop in December. I'm going to try this on her hair. This style adds a nice variety to the TWA stage.
