A mistake you made is referring to James Madison as having been elected to the House of Representatives and "serving in Washington," but that was NOT the capital until 1800. Another mistake is using a painting of Franklin and Jefferson reviewing a document, but that was the artist's depiction of the Declaration of Independence, and not the Constitution.
You all should watch the youtube video titled The Founders' Dark Side and see if you're still sympathetic to J Madison. Seriously, it's only a minute long and it covers so much that they don't teach you in school.
...todays' uber-wealthy GOP & those left-wing politicos in the USA do NOT -in the end- answer to their oaths(the Law) or the American People(who ARE the Law): They answer to powerful EUROPEAN old-money(monarchy & merchants/banking); Who own them. This poison 2 our Constitution & Bill of Rights first appeared in America towards the beginning of the War vs North&
South thru' the Ind.Rev. Then in earnest dur. the Ellis Island Era. Post WW2 brought NAZI-influence: Ergo, todays' conundrum in DeeCee!
It was a pleasure and informative, however, there was a double voice of a narrator. As best as I could tell there were TWO different speakers - I tried to see if it was an echo, but could not hear the softer voice clearly enough. I could not detect echoing - it was as if there were two naratives.
"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other.
War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few."
James Madison
He was right, but it is now too late for America to right itself. The end is near for the collapse of this country because of military spending.
I am going to study US history from scratch.......so much was hidden, neglected, to us older ppl. in public schools. The internet is great for ppl. that want to learn. It's not just a tool of gossip, entertainment values, etc. Ppl. today should be grateful for it. I used to have to walk a mile to the public library to get the most basic info. Encyclopedias were Thousands of dollars to buy. Now all that is at our fingertips. And in many languages. anyways, great job. And thanks.
Not popular as a President but alot of it is not his fault. President Jefferson was a horrible foreign policy president and Madison paid the price during his administration.
The United States did not win the War of 1812, it ended in the Treaty of Ghent which did not produce and losses or gains for either side. The only significant thing the U.S gained from the war was military experience battling European armies and an anthem.
James Madison was against a democratic government. He though that the "stupid majority" can never understand what is good to do so elites should run everything and they should engineer the consent on the "stupid majority" . There are enough evidence of that! Funny you never see these facts in the common history..
@astronomypouya thats why he was a proponent of a REPUBLIC! and not the tyranny of the majority. If you took the time to study how madisons ways of controling faction were designed you would know this. the democracy you speak of is a radical democracy. As far as the elites I think you are confusing john adams!
@astronomypouya Every founder despised a Democracy, which has throughout history been reviled as a despotic form of government. It has served as a government of choice for many of the slave nations in history. It allows a simple majority to force its will upon the simple minority, which could include their enslavement. Perhaps that is why for the 1st time since the Civil War, the US has once again earned its place on the list of Slave trade nations. In excess of 100,000 are sold here per year
@reed311 No, actually what I said is that it's ironic how the founding father with the worst health lived the longest. It had nothing to do with health care. Since you mentioned it though, everyone in America has health care. Though not everyone in the country had it back then, Madison had health care too.

however - MADISON declared war?! Only the Congress can declare war. Presidents going to war is a modern corruption of our government.
