Frankly speaking, no. As long as there is no one in strict need of it (e.g. those goods carriers) you can use a goods lift just the same as a passenger lift.

Interesting to see this elevator last 45 years, but I still like the freight elevators with the automatic doors better, since they're safer.

That's the fact. Many old industrial buildings already have their old goods elevators with manual doors replaced with newer models featuring automatic doors. Of course, this depends on whether the budget allows.
